  1. @@tygrrlily Latin Asia was a vendor my wedding coordinator gave me for flowers originally. When I reached out to them about flowers they also sent me their furniture rental brochure. I realized they were cheaper than zuniga and asked if I could use them for my furniture rentals. They said yes since they work with LeBlanc. I'm not sure if they work with all of palace resorts though, I would ask your wedding coordinator. I'm renting gold tiffany chairs for the reception, the chandelier for the sweetheart table and lounge furniture through them. Their flower prices wear crazy expensive that's why I went with Maya. Latin Asia has alot if the same furniture as Zuniga and cheaper their delivery fee is cheaper too.

  2. @@NJBride2014 - Marvin sent me the low centerpiece options, and I think I might go that route now.  Haha my FI is understanding, but if I tell him we have to pay xx more so I could get tall centerpieces, I don't think he would be too happy.  I'm debating between yours and the one that is a bit cheaper, but with more shades of pinks and corals!  I have to say, it's refreshing to get a reply from him within a day... I'm still waiting on the hotel's flower options for over a week now :S

@@tygrrlily Yeah I like his response time, ultimately his customer service is what really won me over and the prices for the flowers I wanted couldn't be beat.  What did he quote you for the flowers I'm getting?  Just curious....lol

  3. @@tygrrlily I'm actually getting my sparklers through Discomovil I asked him if he had them or knew where in Cancun we could get them and he said he would order them for us from Mexico City and bring them the day of.  The resort quoted me about $140 for 45 sparkles through Discomovil it will be like $65 so much cheaper.

yes, we wanted them for our cigar station too!  I guess that saves me money, but I think my FI would loved it

Where are you getting your sparklers from?

  4. that's exactly what we did too. Had I told people that the deadline was actually the 25th, they would wait until the 26th haha and then I don't want to hear anyone complain that they didn't get the same rate. I know most people will wait until the very end anyways. Did the e-mail work? My fiance says we should call people right before the deadline because then they have no excuse. If they want to come they can't say they forgot haha. I just feel bad calling and being such a hassle.

My fiance and I texted people a week before the deadline just a friendly reminder that the last day to book was such and such a date and who to contact and if they had any questions to let us know.  We texted people who had shown interest early on or had mentioned yes they were coming.  After the text most people booked some still didn't and completely ignored us but the text did remind those who did want to come and forgot the deadline.

  5. We didn't mention anything about gifts on our invites but we did put it on our wedding website. This is what we put "Your presence is present enough for us....We look forward to you joining us in paradise!!!".  I actually went to a destination wedding in June and people still gave envelopes wih money so people will still give a gift if they want and if they do they get an extra big thank you...lol  We actually still gave $100 to the couple even on top of what we paid for our trip.

  6. @ - I feel for you! I'm very type A with planning, and this would drive me crazy. Hopefully they order soon! I don't really understand that mentality of waiting a few weeks when they're going to have to order them anyway. If money isn't an issue either, I don't get it.. I think I'd be a lot more annoying with direct messages and emails asking them if they had ordered yet. Could you maybe just order them yourself, then tell them you ordered them and they cost $ amount?

I personally took a much more controlling approach haha. I don't expect a lot out of my BMs to be honest. I know their personalities, and of the 3 of us, I am the organizer/planner of the group. They're used to me planning everything from parties to vacations together, etc. because I know if I don't do it, it won't be done. I was my best friend's MOH and I had her bachelorette, bridal shower, dress dates, etc. planned immediately. Made her a slide show, got all the girls involved, we went to Cancun, etc. I was honestly a fantastic moh. I've realized though as @@VegasBride121314 said above, my wedding isn't important to anyone but me (and the FI :P). I've barely heard a peep about my wedding from my BMs, they don't ask me for details, and I'm not one to talk about it incessently either.

All I really expect of them at this point is to show up in the dress I want, stand with me, and take pictures that day. So I actually decided to just buy their dresses myself. I chose 2 inoffensive dresses in styles I know they would like, and I just paid for them myself. They both like their dresses, and they're both glad they don't have to do any work. They also can't complain this way because they didn't pay for them. One in particular can be super picky/drawn out, and I just wanted to avoid that whole process. They said they would plan a Bachelorette and Shower for me too, but I haven't heard much about them and we have 4 months to go. We'll see what happens with those.

I think planning a wedding, and a DW in particular, really makes you think about your friendships and relationships in new ways. Some people have really amazed me with their support and love, while others have been so disappointing. I think I've become a lot more cynical through the whole process!

I really hope your BMs shape up!!

@@tygrrlily I did the same exact thing I just purchased their dresses because it was just easier, luckily the dresses weren't super expensive.  The girls are my sisters, aunt and best friend so they just let me take control I gave them options on styles but I picked out the color and designer.  Sometimes you have to take it into your own hands.

@@Mrsktobe hopefully your girls finally get on it and order their dresses soon.  They'll know how crappy it feels to be ignored when its their turn.

  7. I used this etsy seller for my rhinestones the shipping to canada is pretty cheap too. https://www.etsy.com/transaction/201529611 it was shipped fast and worked great here are some pics of my shirts.

  8. @@shellsal oh man that stinks that he wasn't available I know I booked him 6 months or more in advance. That's a nice size group I would definitely get a DJ to get the party started personally.  Doesn't it suck when guests still keep booking even this close to the wedding.  I'm leaving in 35 days and have guests still trying to book, its really throwing me off for wedding favors, welcome bags, seating arrangements etc.  Look into DJMannia, Dorremix and some others and see if they are available for your date.  I've heard good things about JSAV I just didn't like their communication and how expensive they were and that you couldn't really speak to the DJ that would be doing the wedding it was more just a company rep I was talking to with Discomovil I know he's working my wedding.

  9. @@shellsal I went with an outside vendor and I'm using Discomovil.  He has great reviews, responds very quickly and the best prices.  He was cheaper than both JSAV and PSAV and I just liked his communication better so I decided to go with him even with the vendor fee he was cheaper than the resort DJ and I'm also getting lighting through him.  I actually bypassed the vendor fee by getting him a room night even cheaper than paying $800 vendor fee. There a lot of DJ's on this forum with great reviews he just communicated the best and beat out everyone's price.  Are you having a lot of guests?  Did you get a DJ?

  10. What resort are you getting married at?  I rented one for my wedding at Leblanc Spa resort and the vendor is Latin Asia but I know that Zuniga another vendor also rents them.  Latin Asia charges around $150 for it plus delivery and taxes.  Zuniga I think was $250 for one plus delivery and taxes.  Check with you resort what vendors they use.  I love the look of the chandelier outside it just gives the scenery a romantic feeling.

  11. Does anyone know where i can find sparklers near Moon Palace or even in the Riviera Maya area?

You can get sparklers through the resort.  I would ask your wedding coordinator, the only thing is they are much more expensive through the resort than here in the US or if you bought it outside the hotel.  I also wanted sparklers but didn't want to pay what my resort was charging so I asked my DJ if he could provide them or knew where to get them once I was there and he has to order them from Mexico City and he will bring them the day of the wedding.  So if he needs to order them from Mexico City and he lives in Cancun I'm not sure how easily accessible they are around town. Do you have any outside vendors maybe see if they can look into getting them for you and you pay them.  It was also cheaper to get them through my DJ.

  12. I would call moon palace and try to get them to give you new rates or at least match what's showing up on their own site.  Email your wedding coordinator too and see what can be done.  Also maybe they are running a special right now and that's why the price is lower but I would try to reach out to either the hotel directly or your wedding coordinator to see what they can do about the price.

  13. Does the rate online include airport transfers if it doesn't it might actually come out to the same as booking through you.  People forget that with the online travel websites transfers are extra and sometimes those reservations are not priority like booking directly with the resort or a TA so they have the risk of being bumped to another resort.  Encourage them to book with your rate/wedding group that way you don't have to pay extra for them not being part of your wedding group. Also they won't count towards your room nights and you might not qualify for free benefits if they don't book through your wedding group. DW are definitely not less stressful unfortunately but it will all be worth it in the end.

As for a photographers there a lot of great photographers that you can find on this forum look them up in the vendor section.  You will need to pay a $400 vendor fee for them though since they are outside vendor. I personally think its worth the vendor fee if you want great pics.  I booked Del Sol photography for my wedding.
