We had the groomsmen wear white button-down shirts with the sleeves rolled up and khaki linen pants. My husband wore the same pants and button-down but not with the sleeves rolled up and a matching khaki linen vest. He looked so handsome and stood out from the groomsmen. We also got married on the beach there and we all went barefoot! That's what I wanted, but we were all concerned that at 4 pm the sand might be too hot. We also got sandals to wear but didn't end up needing them. The sand was not hot at all! We got the pants and vest from Island Importer: http://www.islandimporter.com/home.php. The button-downs were from H&M.

We talked about waiting until the middle or end of January. That would put us about 6-8 weeks, does that seem too long? I just want people to be able to make it since our wedding is only going to be about 20 people. What do you guys think? I actually just got married on 11/01/13. We struggled with this for awhile, especially the holiday aspect of it and the weather. We live in Cleveland. We have family all over the place - we didn't want it to be winter and have people not be able to make it due to the weather. We actually decided to have our "at-home reception", which I don't even call it that anymore, in June 2014. That way it's nice weather. We can have it outside - I want to do a garden party. Plus, we have TONS of teachers on both sides of the family, so this way they'll be out of school and that's not an issue. I really think you can do it whenever. Ours is really just an oppportunity for family that couldn't travel to Jamaica to celebrate our marriage. We already have the pictures and video. Plus, we've been home for a week now and I couldn't even imagine dealing with organizing and finalizing another function. I give a lot of credit to those that do!!

My major stresser right now is packing everything we are brining for the wedding!! My bachelorette party is this Saturday - which is crazy to me. I'm only 2 1/2 weeks out! yay!!

We are using two huge suitcases to bring all of our stuff for the bags, decorations, etc. My fiance has one that's old and he doesn't want back. The other is a friend of the family that got new luggage, so he gave us his big suitcase and doesn't want it back. So we are lucky - we only have to pay to check the bags on the way down. I looked into shipping but thought it was outrageous as well. I know another bride who just got married in Jamaica actually bought big bins and packed her stuff in 3 of those, taped them up, etc. and checked those and then just left them down there. Hope this helps!!

Inspiration of how the table numbers will look with bling: Actual Pic of the table numbers i ordered with the stands: When we tell people we have 30 going they are amazed. We only invited are close friends and family too - but are families are fairly small. I have 2 in my wedding party - my matron of honor and a bridesmaid. I can't even imagine 10 bridesmaids. I think that's awesome that so many of your friends and family are going!!! It's a lot of work, but it will be worth it to have them there. I like the blinged out table numbers - very pretty! I agree - this site has helped me, pretty much, every step of the way. All the ladies have been so helpful!!!!

Oh my god that is a HUGE number for a destination wedding! That's awesome!! I can't even imagine the amount of stuff you'll have to pack. Good thing you are going down there prior to drop off some stuff! Are you doing welcome bags? You know I thought about doing teal napkins, but I couldn't find the "right" shade of teal on any website I went to. So that's when I decided to just do that all white. I'll have color with the centerpieces, etc. The table numbers I got I can stick into the pommander and it's a little chalkboard where I can write the number in. All the other table numbers I saw had so many in them - usually at least 12 and I only have 3 tables. So this was perfect.

All 3 tables are having the same centerpieces, which are pommanders from the ceremony will be in a bowl with 3 little white tealight laterns around it along with seashells and starfish around. I am just doing white table clothes and napkins. I wanted everything to be simple and elegant so just enough color but not over doing it - my wedding colors are fuchsia and teal so that could easily happen!

It will be here before you know it! Exciting! That's awesome that you are going down in a couple weeks - that will be helpful!!!! Have you started working with the WC yet?

I know it's crazy!!!!!! Yes, pretty much. Starting to try to pack everything I'm taking - all the OOT bag items, plus I've brought the stuff for our centerpieces. It's ALOT!!!! So, that's overwhelming right now. But the process has been so great with the WC though so that's been a blessing. I think I can all that stuff (not including our clothes, etc) into 1 HUGE roller duffle bag and 1 HUGE suitcase - neither of which the owners want back. So, we won't have to check as much on the way home.

I think my main concern is what you do after the wedding? It seems too early to have dinner and to late to do lunch. Help!!! -Cora When I initially booked my wedding date and time I ran into the same problem regarding the 4 pm being booked already. But, my fiance and I didn't have a certain date in mind, just a time frame, so that made it easier. I had a few weeks to play with and find a 4 pm time slot, which I did for Nov. 1st at 4 pm.

Now, I hope I can return the favor: For anyone wanting to do hand sanitizers, B&BW is having an awesome sale. They're $1 each right now, plus you can get $10 off an order of $30 or more AND free shipping on an order for more than $50. No need to enter a coupon code - they did it automatically for me when I ordered mine last night and it saved me almost $20. I got 70 PocketBacs for $64 including tax. Also, I would STRONGLY recommend using Ebates.com - not just for OOT bags, but for online shopping in general, really. It's free to use, and if you are ordering a lot of stuff online, it can really help out. Before you go to any website, check Ebates.com first to see if they partner with that website. If they do, then go to that store's website through Ebates and it will keep track of what you buy. You'll then get a percentage back in the form of a check that they send out once every few months. They also show you all of the coupon codes you can use before you buy. So if you're buying stuff for your OOT bags or new clothes for the trip, it all adds up. I hope this helps some of you! I'm a month out from my wedding - so excited!! Thanks for the tip about Ebates!!
  13. Mine is less than a month away!! November 1st at St. James. I can't believe it's almost here. I booked our wedding date last January with the hotel. Time flies! We leave at the end of this month.
  14. I'm getting married in Jamaica a month from today!! We are having a steel drummer for the ceremony. I am walking down the aisle to Pachelbel's Cannon. It sounds amazing on the steel drums!!
  15. We are dancing to Ray LaMontange's Hold You In My Arms Forever. It's a beautiful and romantic song! Can't wait! Only 1 1/2 months to go!
  16. We are using a solo steel drummer for the ceremony. For the bridal party's procession we are doing Somewhere Over the Rainbow, my procession is Pachelbels Cannon and our recessional song will be One Love. Not sure what my fiance will walk down the aisle to, etc. I was thinking maybe Could You Be Loved. I don't know. I'm going to let him figure this one out!

They were usually nice enough to pull tables together so that we could enjoy each others company and if we all could not sit together we were at least seated in the same area. When we went to the Japanese restaurant my friend called made two reservations 15 minutes apart so that all of us were seated around the same time for the Hibachi dinner. The only place that was not very accommodating was Blue Mountain. The hostess appeared a bit irritated when we arrived with a large group. She was able to sit us at three different tables none of which were that close together but we made it work. It is so not worth spending the extra money. I know!!!! Yay!! Thanks for the advice. That's kind of what I was thinking - just meeting somewhere at one of the larger places and see what they can do. I'll have to keep in mind to not try that with Blue Mountain. Besides the Japanese restaurant, which other places were nice and try to accomodate? I can't wait to see more pictures!!! Hopefully soon!
  19. You looked beautiful! I am glad to hear everything went well. I am actually getting married on November 1, 2013 - not too far away! I noticed on your invitations that you did a farwell brunch the morning after. How did you go about doing this? I inquired about it and was told that since we have 30 people a restaurant may not be able to accomodate us at one table and they don't take reservations so our option would be spending $200 for 20 people and $20 per person over 20 to do a group block at a restaurant. This just seemed ridiculous to me. I mean we are brining down 30 people and spending a lot of money on this wedding and they can't even give us a group block at a restaurant to say good-bye to our guests. Thanks!
  20. I am getting married at Secrets St. James Nov. 1st. I really want to do the candlelight private dinner. Was it on the one of the beaches at the resort or did you get transported somewhere else? Also, how did you end up getting it for free? But, it is $390 if you have to pay for it? Thanks!
  21. I really think it's a great idea that you had and did to buy the plastic bins to transport all of your stuff and use those as "checked bags" and then just leave them there. How exactly were you able to check them? Did you have to do anything differently since it's a bin? Thanks!
  22. Alexis, I LOVE your setup! For the ceremony and reception - it's simply and elegant. It's gorgeous! I was actually thinking of doing pommanders for the ceremony but then putting them in a bowl for a centerpiece - it's nice to see it looks good! Did you bring the bowls or get them for the resort?
  23. Alexis you looked beautiful!!! I'm so happy to hear everything went so well. I can't wait to see more pictures and hear all about your wedding!!!!
  24. Alexis this is a great thread! Thanks so much. Could you please email me your program template - love them! So, when do you leave!?
