  1. We are heading to Tahiti, Moorea, and Bora Bora for our belated honeymoon in April! I am so excited to be checking these destinations off! It has always been a dream of mine! It was between there and South Africa. Bora Bora won out though because it seems more like a honeymoon destination for the two of us whereas I think South Africa could be great even with children one day!

  2. @@malyna I went out probably 6 or 7 times. I tried on what felt like a million dresses and although they were all nice (except a few I really hated lol!) I didn't really love any of them... except for the one I ended up buying. I literally put the dress on and didn't have it all the way up and I just knew it was THE ONE! I just felt so beautiful and sexy in it. It was exactly what I had been envisioning! It had a lot going on, but it was so me. It fit my personality so well and I just exuded confidence and excitement in it! I hate to be one of those people that say you'll just know, but you really will! Even if you try on hundreds of dresses you will eventually get that THIS IS IT feeling!

  3. @@Mrsktobe we are doing a similar thing to you. We have been married for 5 months now and I will be 29 in January. We are going on my dream trip to Tahiti, Moorea, and Bora Bora and staying in an overwater bungalow. I plan on going off the pill about a month beforehand and starting to try while we are there! Its super scary to think about it but also so exciting!

  4. We kind of sent it around by word of mouth, but make sure that you get everyone! I didn't want anything posted once we got back because we were having a second ceremony here and I didn't want everyone to see what I was going to "look" like, but we forgot to tell one person! He took them down quickly, but it would have been easier had we just mentioned it when everyone was all together at once. I thought people would know not to post photos until I posted the first ones, but in this day and age of social media that doesn't happen!

  5. March can be more expensive because its March break, once you get into April its still considered high season but I find the prices tend to be a bit better. It will be warm, but not too hot for the kids. We got married this past May in Varadero and it was warm, but what you'd expect in the Caribbean and we had our two nieces who were 16 and 23 months old and they had a ball! They loved it sooo much! Also price will depend on where you are leaving from. Obviously Toronto is typically a lot cheaper to fly out of then other departure gates.

  6. @@jodiearthurs congratulations on your engagement! Have you spoken with a TA to get rates yet? I haven't personally been to Memories Flamenco but have a friend who has been there and she really enjoyed it! Have you decided which month you'd like to get married? I am currently working with a bride and received quotes for her wedding in Nov 2015. If you'd like I could always check into it and see if its possible to get quotes for you for early 2016.

  7. @@maredith fuel taxes have gone up and will likely be going up even more this year, so that is potentially why the rates could be higher. The one good thing, is that most charter suppliers like Sunwing and Transat offer one time price drop guarantees if you've booked early. So if you want to ensure that your resort/hotel/flight aren't going to be booked up (which could happen if you wait until 6 months out if its a high demand season) you could always book and use that one time price drop guarantee, but you'll want to make sure that your TA is looking out for those drops for you or keep an eye on it yourself and let your TA know when you see a drop so they can get it for you.

In my case, we booked 12 months in advance and honestly ours only went up. I always kept an eye out on the price and it was significantly more expensive as the months went on.

Which resort are you looking at?
