  1. Just left punta cana this AM and still traveling home. I will post a review soon! Girls don't worry it all turns out perfect. I had a garden gazebo wedding at 3pm and a reception in the beach from 7-11pm for 47 people. It was great!

  4. Great Review! Thanks so much! How did you work the dinner reservations for yourself and guests? Did you just let them know where and when you were eating or just let everyone do there own thing? When did you make the form you handed out in your welcome bags with times and location for your guests to be for the wedding. Did you know the details before you left or after you met with the wedding planner? Thanks!
  5. Newbride101, Thanks for the information! I was told also I could do it in the ballroom, but would be charged extra for everyone over 24 people. Is she allowing you to book dinner reservations for other nights in advance for up to 12 people? Thanks!
  6. Anyone have any reviews on manicures and pedicures? Anyone know how long hair and make up took? Just trying to figure out what time to make salon appointments for. Anyone do the facial that comes with the tangerine package? If so any thoughts on it? Also, anyone know the max amount of people that you can make a dinner reservation for? Really stressing about dinner reservations for our stay there and trying to allow everyone who wants to eat together to be able to try make reservations at the same restaurants. We leave in one month and getting a little worried about details!
  7. Did anyone have a Welcome dinner for over 20 people? Marlene is telling me if I want a welcome dinner for all of my 47 guests then I have to pay $15 per person anyone over 20 people. Also it will have to be in a banquette hall and not in one if the restaurants. Also did brides get ready in the bridal room of the salon? Marlene said that only I could get ready here and the rest of my guests would have to leave to get ready.
  8. Stoledo I am also having a beach reception on May 4th, 2013 which we are not starting until 7pm. I was told that regular lighting would be included for no extra cost. I would have to pay more if I wanted colored lighting. I am paying the extra money per person to have the beach reception. We are having to pay about a thousand for a dance floor if we want it. As far as the palapa on the beach I was told that they did it for one bride because they double booked her for another location and that they had to make it up to her. They said they will not hold my reception there and not to worry that they will make the beach beautiful. I also do not want the ballroom and bar higuey is booked. I know it is frustrating, but I am trying not to worry and just figure it out when I get there and I will be as happy with how it all turns out just how everyone has been! Good luck!
  9. Curls, Congrats! Your pictures of beautiful!!! If you have time I was hoping you could answer a few questions. 1. How did you get the room numbers for your guests to put on the bags? 2. When you made dinner reservations did you make them just for yourselves or did you make them for other guests? Were most of your guests that came in on later days able to join you for dinner if they made reservations once they arrived? 3. How did you find it best to to communicate with your guests while you were there...dinners, excursions, timing of events and where to meet, activities....I don't want to force people to spend all of there time together, but I also wont they to know what groups of people are doing so they have the choice to join in if they want. I feel like we can't really tell people a lot of details until we get there and find out where and when things will take place. I was thinking of typing up a template of information to give my guests and filling in the details and printing it once I arrived and then putting it in there welcome bags. Does this seem possible? Thanks!

Hey Girls, I was wondering how everyone is or is planning on communicating with there guests about welcome dinner location and times, group excursion times and cost, wedding times and where to be when....and anything that they may need to know about. I feel I wont know a lot of the details until we arrive so I am not sure how to make sure everyone knows where and when to be places. Did most of you plan or are planning excursions before you leave or once you get there? Are you going to plan them through the resort or with outside vendors? How about dinner reservations? Did you or are you planning on just booking for yourself and letting everyone do there own thing or are you sharing with your guest where you are eating so they can join in. I would love to do dinner with our group if they wish to join us. Anyone have had problems with guests coming later in the week having trouble making reservations? Anyone making reservations for there guests? Just a little worried about the organization and the logistics of having 40 guests at such a big resort and keeping everyone in the loop! Any advice would be great!
  11. Congrats to you and your husband! Sounds like an amazing time! We are getting excited for our wedding in May! I was wondering did you plan your excursions before you left and did you go through the resort to book them? How did you let all of your guests know about excursions and where and when to be for the welcome dinner, wedding train, and other things that you planned? What kind of things did you bring with you to get to the WC? Did you hand out any welcome bags or anything for your guests and if so how did you go about it?   12. WTunner, Congrats! Your pictures look amazing! When you were set up for the beach reception did you have a dance floor, do you feel like one would have been needed? Was the DJ set up close and did you feel like 3 hours would be okay or would you recommend 4? I am planning on a beach reception, but a little worried because I have not heard much about it from others. What decorations and lightening were included and would you feel like extra should be purchased? Thanks so much! Enjoy the married life!
  13. Mandi, Congratulations! So happy that everything turned out great for you and your husband! I am planning a beach reception, due to bar higuey being booked. I have gone back and forth with them about other options without a lot of luck. Can you tell me more about your location? Was it totally out in the open or was there some coverage if it rained? Did you have a place to dance, did you need a dance floor? How were the decorations? Any info about the location and what you thought would be great! How did you feel about the length of the reception, was the extra hour needed? Did you tell the resort you were doing the welcome cocktails at the bar or did you all just meet there? Did you do a welcome dinner, and if so what restaurant? How did you keep your guest informed about where to be and when to be there for certain wedding events? I feel like I won't know a lot of the details to tell them until I am there and get a feel for things. I was thinking about trying to use there computer and printer at the resort to print something up with details to hand out with our guest bags. Congrats again, and thank you so very much! Cassey
  14. cocoHolly, Here is the reply that I received from Marlene about the DJ. Will you take care of booking the DJ and can we bring a ipod with some of our own music on it for him to play or send him a playlist in advance? We can do both ipod or playlist, up to you. Basic dj is $4898 .00USD Full dj with MC included is $ 767.00 USD So my understanding is that the "Basic DJ" includes the equipment and someone that runs. I am not sure if they would just to the equipment without anyone to run it? Curls2013, I am having about 40 guests at our wedding and here is there reply I received from Marlene about a welcome dinner for everyone included. The rehearsal dinner Friday night before our wedding for all of our guests at one restaurant is no additional charge if it is at one of the restaurants that are included with the all inclusive resort package correct? No additional charge for this. Good luck planning girls! Anyone with any extra information on a beach reception or pictures that would not mind sharing would be great!
  15. Did you ladies have the 3 hour reception, and if so did it seem long enough for dinner and dancing? Did you get the dance floor as extra, and if so how much was it? I was thinking of having everyone meet up at one of the bars for drinks before the beach reception at 7pm. Anyone have any suggestions on what bar to meet at that has enough room and in a good location to the beach for about 40 people? Thanks so much!

  20. Hello, I just sent out my invites last week, so far everyone thinks they are super cute! We did a passport style invite with inserts inside with travel agent info and resort info. Also there was a RSVP card that looked like a boarding pass. From Me 2 You Creations made them for us and she did a great job for just a little over $6 an invite. I really LOVE them!
  21. Sunny, Thank you so much for the help. I would have LOVED to do the reception at the Bar Higuey, but they are saying it is booked. The only other option they are saying I have is the ballroom and and I am not feeling that. If I am on such a beautiful place on earth I really don't want to be in a room with no windows of views to the outside. How was the weather during the night for you? We are getting Married May 4th and my only worry about the boat would it would be cold for a cruise that was from 6-10pm? Also thank you so much for helping all of us brides who have not done this yet, it is really great that you continue to help! Very much appreciated!
  22. Hello, If anyone has are going to use La Barcaza what was the best way to contact them. How long did it take to hear back? Also if you used it what do you think? I may try to use it for my reception due to Marlene saying my only options for a reception are on the beach or in a ball room that does not have any windows of terrace to the outside. Looking at any other options if anyone has any ideas. The Jellyfish looks great, but a little out of our budget. Thanks!

  24. Hello, We are looking into doing our reception on the boat! However, I have had a hard time getting a response from anyone as far as what dates are available.
