  1. Hello Matt, Beautiful photos! Do I need to request permission from the resort to higher you guys for my big day or are you guys on the acceptable outside vendor list? Also you know what fees are associated with hiring your company at Playacar Palace? Lastly, how do I find pricing for your services? Thanks in advance!
  2. Hi Jessi, I've been working with Elvia, but she hasn't been too quick to respond to me. I usually ask my wedding specialist to contact her. Her email is [email protected]. Good luck with all your planning! I know it's frustrating when you need answers and you can't talk to a real person. Sherrae
  3. Hi! Thanks for the pictures, but my wedding is at Playacar Palace, not RIU Palace.
  4. Hola Ladies, I wanted to start a thread for the Playacar Palace brides that are getting married in June of 2013! It's been a bit of a rocky start getting my room block confirmed and I was just curious to hear from other brides about their process. Also I was thinking it would be cool if I actually bumped into one of the brides from BDW while at the resort :-)
  5. Could you find out if there is a fee for the wedding guests over the 30ppl limit? I will have 75+ room nights so I will have unlimited private events, but I'm not sure if I will be charged extra for going past the 30 guest maximum for the wedding ceremony/ reception. Also will I have to pay the fee to make my reception a private event? Lastly could you take pictures of the south and north solarium as well as the Cielo bar?? Thanks soooo much!!! I'm so lucky to have found this site!
  6. Hello everyone! I've been planning my destination wedding since June and have just recently chosen to have my wedding at Playacar Palace in June. I've spent countless hours pouring over the various forums before deciding on PP, and I've received many great ideas from the women on the site. Do any of you guys know if the hotel is finished with their updates/ renovations?
  7. ATTENTION ALL PP BRIDES............................................... Let's hear about what you have planned for any of the following: wedding date- 6/13/13 # of guest- 50-75 Planning an at home reception? N wedding website- still working on it... invites - still trying to decide on STD in terms of to go cheaper or get really fun creative STDs. Will definitely do really nice invites with pocket folds for pertinent info as well as basic nvites for those who aren't coming to the wedding. what themes are you doing- no theme, just bright, energetic and cheerful decorations wedding colors- I think I'm pretty sold on tangerine, lemon and fuschia but I may change fuschia out for apple green. # of peeps in the wedding party and what they are wearing- Recently got rid of my wedding party ( is that completely terrible of me lol) may add them back in... We'll see types of private events- I would like a welcome cocktail reception followed by a rehearsal dinner; cocktail hour and private reception; post wedding brunch; farewell dinner locations for your ceremony, receptions, private events- undecided flowers, bouts, etc.- not sure... decor- still working on it via Pinterest Anything else fun and festive? Thinking of doing an excursion for the group depending on how large my group is and cost. [/list
  8. I understand, I went through about 4 different TA's and most were nice, but couldn't give me exactly what I was looking for. I'm currently working with a TA from destinationweddings.com. Her name is Sherryl Dabbs and she has helped me out sooo much! Not to mention I can call or email her whenever I need to and she gets right back to me. Message me if you need her contact info :-)
  9. Thanks Jamie!! A postcard is an awesome idea. I was toying with the idea of a traditional save the date versus a magnet and I think a postcard is a great compromise! How far in advance did you send out your invitations?
  10. I'm planning a wedding at the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites for May 9th. We've just decided on the destination and the property so we haven't sent out save the dates yet. How has your response been to the ones you've sent out?
  11. Thanks for all the information guys! I was contacted by TA Patty yesterday evening and am now awaiting contract information for the selected resort. So far so good and I am excited about the possibility of not having to route calls and feel even more stressed for our destination wedding :-)
  12. I'm still trying to figure out if I should use one or not. I have people flying from 4 + states and I'm not sure how much they can help me. I initially tried to go through destinationweddings.com but their wedding specialist gave me quotes for packages for my guest way above the budget I gave her. I'm really confused if I should use one or not.
