Hi DEWed2013' Congratulations!! I haven't had any contact with a wedding coordinator and have been told we will only be able to arrange things like that when we arrive at the hotel! Maybe because we are in the uk??!! We was hoping to do exactly the same as you, the Pure package would be ideal colour wise but was looking at Pearl as it is slightly cheaper. We only have complimentary booked at the minute and was just going to add to that when we got there! Decoration wise ect... Be great to know if anyone else has been able to do this or not We did look at a Niagara Falls wedding but thought we'd have a longer holiday for family and friends booking with us as niagara would've only been a 4 night stay. If I lived in Toronto Like yourselves we would've have our wedding there lol ,would love to go back its very romantic Donna x

Hi Sam, My bouquet is going to be made of brooches,crystals and pearls so it's not flowers at all. I have two adult bridesmaids and they are going to have real flowers. As we get a complimentary bouquet, one of the bridesmaids will be having that one and am going to buy an identical one so they will be the same. The lady that does the bouquets has told me to travel with it in a hat box!! It's only going to be small, probably 8 inches round but it'll be heavy so it'll go in hand luggage. A little scared it'll get broken in the big case. Same with us with the rings,I keep looking at them and can't wait to be wearing them ha ha! We tried to get the 'big buys' out the way before we booked the holiday/wedding so now we can just concentrate on paying that Groom wants to wear a normal suit, with waistcaot and cravat, we're going to have our boys in the same and bestman my dad ect... I did suggest linen to him but he didn't fancy it. We are going to ask for an evening ceremony so maybe it'll be cooler by then!! Are you taking your dress as carry on luggage or are you putting it in a suitcase?? I have read a few people weren't allowed to carry it on board and this is what I was hoping to do?! Donna x x

Hi , Yeah we will be leaving on the 16th so wont be there when you arrive, I would love to have a party when we come home but don't think we could afford it to be honest. I've got close family that can't come to Mexico so it will be hard not to have them involved in the wedding but we knew it would happen. We were looking at it that only parents would come and anyone else that could make it would be just brilliant. We have 24 coming so far so really pleased!! Philippa, h2b is great at reading up on stuff, he reads trip advisor everyday and always looking on the palace resorts facebook website. I have a look on their Facebook page for updated photos. It is looking fab so far, and can't wait to see the flow rider! I even have the bridesmaids dresses and wedding rings! I am having my bouquet made by 'love bouquets' so taking that out there with me. H2b won't let me pick suits with him lol but they won't get sorted until just before we go. We have 2 boys that are growing at a rapid rate otherwise I'd love to have those sorted too ha ha x Donna x x

Hi Philippa, I have my dress lol! I ordered it a month after we got engaged (aug'11) and picked it up last month. I was thinking about getting a 'destination wedding dress' but thought you only get married once so I have gone for a big heavy dress!! You will probably see me in it anyway ha ha ha We aren't having a reception/ party when we get home so I haven't got much to organise. Can't wait to get out there and arrange stuff! I would love to be putting deposits down on cakes, ect.. I am a bit gutted I won't be able to do stuff like that. Samblake, I know what you mean about guests not hurrying up and letting you know. We do have quite a few people coming already ( immediate family) but posts of friends avoid even mentioning the invite when we see them lol rather they just bloody told me Happy planning girls Can't wait Donna x x

Hi everyone, Loving the photos coco brown! Can't believe it'll be a year to go soon! In the wedding pack we recieved it said that Moon Palace to translation of documents for you. Is anyone else leaving it until they get out there? I think this is what we'll be doing I've asked before about the resort credits being used on the extras and we got told we can only use $1500 on certain packages and not extras like the horse and carriage etc..... How's everyone planning going??? Anyone got their dress yet?! Donna x

Hi Charlene, Congratulations on your wedding date!! I don't have a direct contact number but the live chat on the palace resorts website is quite good once you finally get through to somebody. Evening time for us though cos of time difference x The resort credits we have been told you can use $1500 on any wedding package that is $2000 or more, we can't use them on any of the extras only the packages they offer Happy planning, if I get any info I will let you know Xx

Hi Sam, Congratulations on a confirmed wedding date and time In our wedding pack it said the same about the date not being 100% but when we asked about it they said it mainly to do with bad weather being forecast for that day and if it was the case, we would either get the day before or after our confirmed date. We don't have a time, we were told this will be arranged when we meet with the wedding coordinator the day after we arrive at the hotel The only list of extras we recieved from the moonpalace was the photography and videography packs. What other extras have you got prices for? And what are the things mentioned about what your entitled to? Is it the same as whats mentioned on the moon palace website? Sorry, lots of questions!! Hi, Just letting you all know that I have finally had our date confirmed today. We will be getting married on the 11th October 2013. It took nearly 9 weeks though so really pleased we finally have it!! Xx:Dxx

Hi, It's so frustrating when they can't give you any answers! We thought it would be straight forward going through Thomas cook but wishing we had booked direct too now!! Pip... Yes we are going from Gatwick on the 2nd so we will be on the same flight are you by any chance on the Moon palace members forum, my h2b was on there earlier and said we have another wedding party on the same flight and they are from Cardiff??!! It will be a shame if we can't get the free functions, Thomas cook told us that although we have booked on our own, if our guests give us there booking reference (they have booked through Thomas cook) that they will cross reference all the bookings so that they hotel know we are a group wedding booking and know we are all together I will be popping into the travel agents again this week so I will let you knw if the tell me anything new Xx

That's good to know Thomas cook have said you'll be getting the resort credits, it was one of the major perks of booking the hotel and knew our guests would appreciate them after paying such a lot of money to come out there with us It's been 6 weeks one since we booked and considering they told us we would have a confirmed date and our wedding pack in 2-3 weeks I think we have been quite patient. Have you had to fill out a form from the moon palace yet? I popped in to Thomas cook last week to see if they had any news and they had a form emailed to them from moon palace, so I had to fill it out and they faxed it straight back to them. I had to write 2 dates we would like, the wedding package we would like and how many guests would be coming!! This makes me think that even though we booked 6 weeks ago, Thomas cook didn't actually put a requested dates forward as soon as we booked!! :confused: Sound like booking directly with the hotel is the quicker way to get a confirmed date, we did it through Thomas cook as we only booked the complimentary wedding package with the holiday and plan to upgrade to the 'pure' package when we get there. So for us going through the travel agents were more straight forward but depends how quickly you want your date confirmed We are going to arrange everything when we get there, I have read lots of reviews about people taking photos and info with them on how they would like things to look, and the wedding planners have done a perfect job!! I keep hearing the wedding coordinators are excellent once you are out there but a bit of a pain to contact before you travel x

I don't think you have to book all at the same time, we booked ours and then just told friends and family the booking reference so they can go in and book just to make sure they are on the same flight and transfers etc....Thomas cook said we will get whatever moon palace are offering. I have printed out the group amenities offers so will definitely be taking it with us when we travel to make sure we do get it I'm not too worried about waiting until we arrive to arrange everything I would prefer that anyway just would've liked the venue but I can understand why they wait until you arrive How exciting that your wedding pack is on its way I haven't been told what sort of things will be in the pack, assuming it will mention the extras and things that we will be able to choose I will let you know if I hear anymore from the TA, they will probably tell me more soon as I think they must be getting bored of me going in to see them so often!! Ha ha

Hi, A lot of reviews said to book direct to get get the date confirmed quicker, wish we had done that so we'd know already, The reception and cocktail hour is free if you have 75 room nights booked and it sound like you'll have lots more than that with around 30 guests. It also says about getting 7 nights stay free with that number of nights but when we asked thomas cook about it they said they will probably deduct that from any extras we choose for the wedding package, so cant wait to get a confirmed date because we will then just email the hotel weddings department and see if we get more help there. Thomas cook don't want to commit themselves to anything we ask!! If you go on the 'palace resorts' website and click on group amenities it says there the things that will be complimentary with the amount of room nights you have booked. Thomas cook have told us we will be entitled to it if thats what they are offering at the time, they also said that we can contact the wedding coordinators before we travel and discuss things with them about what the hotel are offering.

Hello, We also arrive on 2nd October and staying for 2 weeks, we have requested 11th and 10th ( 11th being our first choice) but still no confirmed date after 6 weeks, Thomas cook arent much help, been in to see them a few times and they just say they will follow it up!! Can't believe there are soooo many October moon palace brides to be already Thomas cook haven't even said we will definitely get the resort credits, they have just told us ' whatever promotions the hotel have on at the time, we will get' We have 24 guests booked up at the minute, so we are hoping to get the private reception and cocktail hour complimentary as it works out 140 room nights already and from what I have read we need at least 70 nights. Would be nice to be able to get the venue location confirmed before we arrive at the hotel as I know they hold quite a few weddings per day and would be disappointed not to get he location If anyone gets a confirmed date I would love to know especially if booked through Thomas cook!! How organised are all you brides?? If you don't mind me being nosey!!

We have requested our dates and are waiting for our wedding pack ( been a month) We have been told that we will meet with the wedding coordinator the morning after we arrive at the hotel to arrange everything for the wedding day. This is fine but would really like to request the actual ceremony place a lot sooner than that as we know they hold more than one wedding a day we would be dis appointed to not get the ceremony location that we' d like!! I have read lots of posts about communication with the wedding coordinators is tricky so if you hear anything I' d love to know Thanks x
