Thanks the lady who sold me the dress isn't there anymore, she was great. I ordered my dress small on purpose, not unrealistic-ly small.. Just a bit. The girl who gave me the dress made a huge deal about it not fitting and made me feel pretty stupid/huge. She didn't even try to help me do up what I could and clearly thinks its pretty hopeless. To be fair, the manager, who is new apparently, called and apologized, she was pretty nice. The girl should have just let it go, I know I bought it small, I know I have work to do.. But oh yeah, 7 months til the wedding... And the time to discourage me was when I bought the dress, not when I picked it up... It's gonna fit, it will. I tried it on again later at home, it's not even that bad!Oh no. I'm really sorry to hear the experience picking it up wasn't great. Is there anything you can share from your experience to help others avoid the same problem (other than avoiding the store?) Regardless of the experience in-store, I hope your dress is exactly how you want it and you'll feel perfect on your wedding day! -
Where did you get them?

WOW! So much to catch up on... I'm going to forget everything I meant to say.
My name - Heather
Ice wine... you gotta try Maple Dessert Wine one day... omg, best thing EVER!
Jenny, I'm getting married at a Dreams in Mexico too, which one??
I picked Mexico because we wanted a destination wedding since our families don't live close, especially mine, they're in Nova Scotia and I'm in Alberta. We chose Mexico for two reasons, one because of price (we considered St Lucia but too pricey) and two because my FH's mother is from Acapulco, so it's special to her.
I'm sure I missed a lot here... so.. um... feel free to catch me up. I laughed a lot reading, which was great since today was so crappy at work.. ugh.

Hahahaha that reminds me if a girl in high school who wanted to be unique so she made her prom dress out if AstroTurf. Seriously. I was curious what her wedding dress would be like, but she went with something totally normal lol. I don't know why my last post posted 4 times, weird!!!!My dress is going to be made of 2 ply toilet paper or decorative duct tape....or both. They are cheaper than fabric...and very unique! I have to cut costs somewhere!!!! No, I'm just kidding!!!!!!!  LOL! I can only imagine what you were thinking!  LOL! That doesn't even sound sane!  Actually, I need to figure out how to describe what I want. At this point, at least you know that it will be better than my original description! ha. I want it to be more of a special occasion dress. I want something white, long skirt, strapless in a flowy material (silk/chiffon, possibly). I basically think I want a beach chic (think that's how you might describe it) sundress. I love the bodice on yours, Jenny. So maybe something with that would be nice! I just don't want anything heavy! I'm not trying to sweat 5 lbs off just wearing the dress. That's no fun! lol, you're funny, Jenny! CAKnight does seem kind of impersonal...My name is Niki
Got that right! This is all of our "Operation Wedding Dress"!! I like what you're doing, going again, but careful you don't fall in love with a new dress!! I'm so proud of myself, I didn't drink a single calorie yesterday!!ugh, so TWICE I started a response here with the proper quotes, and it got deleted. Stupid cell phone. So I am just going to say THANK YOU for your comment about my dress! I hope it will be beautiful! yes, timmy's coffee's are highly addictive, and high in fat and sugar, but soooo delicious. Within moderation of course. ummmm, let's see, what else. OH, Sunday's I am cool with! I think we should start a check in, weight loss thread. or do we just want to keep it in here. Scratch that, let's just keep it here! This is Operation Wedding Dress for all of us!! Let's go ladies! We can do it! I bought my dress in January, so...... about 21 months in advance! :S As much as I love my dress, I was terrified, because I knew I am not the size I want to be at all. But luckily, my mom understands and knows that, and pushed me to buy the dress in a size that didn't fit me on the day of, knowing it will motivate me to lose the weight and be the most beautiful version of me I can be on my wedding day. I didn't really get the "wedding dress" shopping experience, so I am going out shopping with girlfriends and my mom, FMIL, and grandmother, so they feel a part of this whole adventure with me. Plus, I only tried on like 4 dresses, and I felt like a fat cow in every single one of them. I want to try on some dresses that fit, and have that experience, as that is why we are doing this whole wedding thing in the first place! It's all about not missing our on the experiences in life- having those "check" moments. -
Lol soon... You gotta keep posting, or pay for accessing attachments.

It took 5 months for my dress to come in. And you need to give some time for alterations.. So the sooner te better!

I'd like to retract that statement, it wasn't great.... it was when I put the deposit down, but when I picked it up, not a great experience. I'd go somewhere else if I could do it again.

Can I just say how much I love that this thread caught on??
I like the idea of Sunday weigh-ins! It's different from my weigh-in at work so it keeps me from "celebrating" with a treat.
Oh my gosh, iced capps are the nectar of all things evil... I love them.. but wow, 18% cream and a TON of sugar.... so now
you know why you didn't feel well lol.
Jenny2014, your dress looks great!

Alrighty then, guess I better start practicing with the eyeliner! Lol, how I got this far through life without mastering it is kind if shameful anyway.

Oh and anyone would know what you mean by a double double lol but technically it's what you would ask for at Tim Hortons which is the huuuuge coffee chain here.

I think 30 is a LITTLE ambitious, but I also tend to bite off more than I can chew with anything I do - sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't, I'll be happy with any progress! I'm trying on my dress every month to measure my progress. When that zipper does up, I'll be sooo happy! I missed where you asked what kind of Zumba, just regular for now. But my gym does have a few different kinds if you pay extra, I gotta look into that (or when they start)or keep my eye out for a groupon. Weighed myself this morning, 5lbs!!!!!!

Hahaha sorry. That's "canadian" for a coffee with two cream and two sugar. It's not even the caffeine, it's the sugar.. I think I have a real sugar problem! There should be a sugarholics anonymous. (Lol a double shot, must have thought I was an alcoholic). My goal is 4 inches on the waist, to start, anything more is great! (Except for the alteration bill... But if my too small dress became too big....I would be A-OK with that!) And if possible, by August. But My wedding isn't until November so there's lots if time still. I'm eating clean(er), drinking as little calories as possible (yay water!) and working out a few times a week. If I don't get much progress within the first 2 weeks, ill have to look at brig a little more hardcore about it.Woohoo to being weight loss buddies!  Would you like to share your weight loss gain like Jenny and I did? (I know you said you bought a size 14 dress. Sorry if I missed your goals, if you stated them. ) I don't know if I know what double doubles are. You might have to explain that one to me. Do you mean a double shot (of liquor)? -
I was considering Azul Sensatori, monitor bar?? Yes please! Lol. The price was actually quite similar but there was no requirement to pay up front or else pay way way more.Hezmshaw, I am beginning to see that the process of DWs always bring their hiccups, including guests not being happy about this or that. We can only do the best we can and I am so sure u and your partner will have the time of your lives!!! I have also seen great things with the dreams resorts, was looking at their packages this evening! Do u mind me asking where else perhaps a bit cheaper u had been looking or would consider? -

Oops I didn't mean to submit yet lol. So today was going great until the fiancé brought me home a coffee.... Oh well, tomorrow is a new day. Starting weight is 160, but I'm short... If I got to 125/130.. I'd be so happy! I'm going to Zumba tomorrow weigh in on Thursday, fingers crossed!!!

Wow! So excited to have some online weight loss buddies! What I drink that is total crap is pop and double doubles. And at family dinners we usually have a drink so make that a crown and coke, one or two a week.

Did anyone else do this? Buy a smaller dress on purpose?
I realize now it was a pretty ballsy move, but I am determined to make it fit. I WILL fit into that dress!
Since I don't know you all, I feel like I can tell you they wanted me to buy an 18.
EIGHTEEN!?!?! No way Jose! I ordered a 14 which is STILL bigger than any other clothing item I've ever bought, but I guess wedding dresses are just like that.
Turns out it would fit in the bust and the hips, I'm just a little too round in the middle. From what I've read, good news that's the easiest stuff to lose!
I want to lose even more, so I can feel great in beach wear, but one step at a time.
So far, I'm eating way healthier, getting exercise a few days a week at least and trying very hard to stop drinking calories.
I'm open to any tips or suggestions or stories of success (or failure for a dose of reality!). If you're on the same mission, I welcome you to keep in touch with me - I have great support with my friends and I'll be happy to support you too, we can do this together!

How much are you spending on average for OOT bags??? I'm starting to think I don't really need to do them, I could spend that money better elsewhere... seems very expensive!

A little thing I like to call "Operation Wedding Dress" (aka, my dress is too small... but it won't be soon!)
