  1. We are going to Dreams Tulum in November from Edmonton, Calgary, Halifax and Toronto :) I'm super excited for our wedding but also just to have so much family together for a whole week!!!

  2. Thanks Jessica! So ladies, how are you measuring your progress? I'm weighing myself regularly, and I was measured when I tried on my dress so I can look at that too.... My plan is really to try on my dress monthly, what I should have dine was measure how far apart the zipper was.... I'm gonna do that this month. May 22 is the next try on - dress lives at my step-mothers house to hide it from FH. Some other motivation I use is the weight loss challenge at my work, and I love to cruise the health and fitness page on Pinterest, so many great tips, recipes and motivational photos there!

  3. Here's a few of mine that might provide some inspiration if anyone is doing the vintage thing... Ring Shell 1000 Cake Topper:  Shells from Michaels painted with pearl Paint & Claire's pearl necklace 1000 Reserved Signs for Parents seats at ceremony 1000 1000 Mason Jar vases with Sand Dollars & Twine 1000 Card box Treasure Chest Treasure Chest.jpg Table Number Frames. ANtiqued Dollar store frames Table-Numbers-Collage.jpg Place Cards, Photoshop 1000 Drink Flags, straws from Etsy and made flags up in Photoshop 1000 Hangers for Bridesmaids, got wooden hangers at Dollar store and added ribbons & writing 1000
These are great! And also in my colors :) you are great at the antiquing!
  4. My wedding is still a year away but I haven't been able to help myself.. I've already done tons of research and know what I want. :blush2: These are my inspiration pics, the first one is my favorite (and probably not too difficult to do?). I'm really not big on elaborate cakes and my fiancé doesn't even care if we have one or not.  LL LL
From what I've seen, it shouldn't be outside their skillset to pull off these :) though, FYI, the textured look isn't as easy as you think. Any cake decorator should be able to do it though. My suggestion, be clear on the height of the cake. Ask that each tier be no shorter than 4.5 inches. This way you can avoid the skinny little layers I've seen in some DW cake. (I'm a cake decorator in Edmonton)

  5. Yahoo edmonton ladies! Joining in here, gotta catch up! Since I see dress talk, I'll share that I found my dress this past weekend in calgary at jessica bridal, was so happy with the service and wrote an email to the company to explain my deepest thanks to our saleswoman Juanita who was amazing. She made my sister (and MOH) and I feel so special! Dress was 379, my sis surprised me by buying it, couldn't believe it but thanked her immensely! Was in love with MSottero dresses, but after trying on similar ones/a few maggies, they were too heavy for what I wanted. I am addicted to bling on the dresses though and found one that is just perfect for me!
    Wow, that's a great price!
