I don't think you should feel bad at all about alterations.... how much more weight do you want to lose, to get it to fit? If it's not a lot, work your little booty off to get there! And if there has to be alterations, WHO CARES! You are going to be stunning, and no one, absolutely, no one, is going to look at you and say anything negative.

I checked the wedding package, it doesn't have a max capacity listed for the pool... that's not helpful I know haha, but I thought I'd let you know it's not in there.

  3. I'm using an ipod, I downloaded an app called WeddingDJ, it's pretty sweet!  And they've said if I'm brining my own speaker, it has to be battery powered so I've got a Creative D100 wireless speaker, it's pretty loud - I think it's going to be good enough.

We only have 23 people so far, not really enough for a "dance" so the music is just for background tunes... after the dinner I think we'll hit the lounge where the live music is.

  4. Hey Guys - any upcoming brides? This thread seems to have slowed lately but maybe because it's summer! I'm getting married at DT in Feb 2014. I'm just starting to get my ideas for colours and favors and everything else!
I am getting married October 19, 2013 - coming up shortly! I have a lot of things planned already so if you have any questions let me know - as I have sent a MILLION emails back & forth lol..
I'm coming up too :) November 14! I'm handing in my planning package today, both Nayeli and Landy have been great to deal with by email so far.
  5. My fiance bought this thing called the ab coaster, it's pretty sweet... you can work your abs real good!  And some friends have been commenting that I'm looking more fit which is encouraging!

I tried this "military" diet thing for like a day and a half.. but I got real cranky AND I cried at work lol... so I had to stop it.  I'm just trying to keep the portions down and make healthy choices.  I don't think I've lost any lbs in a while but maybe the muscle is part of that.

Two days short of 5 months until the wedding.... it's getting to be a little scary!!!

I saw a photo where all the bridesmaids wore shades of blush and lavender an it was gorgeous, but not sure how it would look with gray...

I think that would look awesome :)

  7. I'm here, had a CRAZY week... omg.

Like, really, crazy..... like a family member faked their own death... WHO DOES THAT?  OMG... so anyway, and then the fiance was super sick the last couple of days.

Good news, I'm still down what I was down, but haven't lost anything more.  But I haven't really done any cardio, so... that's my bad really.

  8. Ugh!! I have so mich weight to go, I've been eating well and working out, nothing really lost for like two weeks! A half pound, big whoop! The odd cheat here and there but really nothing terrible, and those days I work out!! BODY, LET IT GO GIRL! The chub has to go!! Sincerely, me. I've been drinking way less calories but I think part of my problem is I haven't really replace it with water, or at least not enough water..... Starting today, I'm gonna drink water like its nobody's business!!

Make sure you stretch a LOT before and afterwards.  I've done special leg workouts before and could barely walk the next day.  It will be tough to get through the first few days, but you can do it! :)

Good tip!  I did it yesteday but it was right before bed so I skipped the jumping jacks as I find it weird to do them upstairs lol... more of a basement activity.. but no soreness... there were more squats than I realized, about 100.

  10. AHHHHH! I GOT MY 2 MONTH PACKET. I'm not ready for this! Where did the time go?! I was thinking about having one my splurges be on fire dancers, but I'm finding YouTube videos of fire dancers from Dreams Tulum. So I emailed Nayeli today asking if they are already part of the entertainment during the week, because I don't want to PAY for them when they will see them for free earlier in the week. She said she didn't know. Sigh. Do any of the past brides or past DT visitors know if there is a regularly scheduled fire dancer show?
    Ooh exciting :) 2 months!
  11. I can now run for 20 mins straight!  I think when I first posted I was able to run one minute and then walk one minute.  I can now run for twenty minutes straight, which makes me so happy.  My goal when I started was to be able to run for a half hour - I am almost there! :)
Woohoo! Great job :) you'll be at 30 minutes in no time!
Great job girl! I get some good tunes on and just go Theyre yummy lol, thats a lot of working girly! Im going hiking today while away for the weekend and got 220 squats in this morning for my squat challenge
220 squats? Are you kidding me? That's amazing!!! I'm going to start adding a legs workout to my new routine. I've been working out at home a lot.. Working on abs and arms/back/chest a lot since that's what you're gonna see on the wedding day lol.. (Well, not the abs, that's to help with the dress fitting..) but the one I'm starting has like, 60 squats and I'm scared lol.

Awwww, I make fake shakes...... frozen banana, low fat plain yogurt, almond milk, protein powder and spinach (yeah I know sounds weird) every morning. I swear it helped me with the weight loss. I got veggies in without even knowing it. Sorry some jerk hit you :( hope the rest of the night got better

Thanks :) I'm going to make a healthy shake today!

So TODAY is the day I try on my dress again!  I know it still won't fit... I haven't made a TON of progress.... but I do weigh about 6 pounds less than the last time.  It's clear I need to be more aggressive with my workouts (meaning not just whenever I feel like it lol) and stick to my new diet, which I did yesterday except I did have a coffee and a muffin, BUT the point was to earn my treats and I totally did work out so I call that a win!

Today I'm going to measure the distance between the zippers, which I didn't do last time.. that way I can measure my progress next month. This month I'll just have to take my sister's word for it... and she tends to be really encouraging haha so I'm sure she'll be like, "it's WAYYY better" when it's not much different at all.

FI got a decline bench the other day, I did crunches on it yesterday - WOW! My abs are KILLING me today.  Normally I can easily do 100 crunches on the floor and I'm not sore the next day, clearly that wasn't doing much.  I did 30 and my abs are sore from top to bottom!

  13. Ooh good tip!! So today, my car was hit while it was parked on the road... The driver took off but came back eventually.... It ruined my whole extra day off, dealing with it :( BUT... I made myself a milkshake... Omg, with ice cream, bananas a, chocolate and peanut butter... Caloric goodness..... And then.... I poured it out :( a waste I know... But..... The dress.. Doesn't fit... And I'm trying it on again tomorrow..... Soooo.......... I ate watermelon instead.

  14. Went for an hour and a half hike/run/walk just now.  Wow.  We got a bit lost in the bush... and I am exhausted, but feeling proud.  I have never run with my Fiance before, but I think I kept up ok.  It really forced me to push myself.  :) Going to the states tomorrow to find some more wedding stuff.  Hopefully we find a suit for Patrick... for less than 300$.  Hard to find stuff off the rack for him cause he's so slim. (But I now weigh less than he does!!   )
Lol I did the same thing recently, got lost in the bush... Which is, hilariously IN Edmonton.... In the city :P
