Woo I'm getting married on the 30th at 4pm! See ya there lol Intially the communication between the resort and I was amazing but not so much anymore! It gets really annoying at times! I also have the waves of love package and we are taking down centerpieces and a ton of candles and other decor. We are going to leave it all with the planners to see if any other brides want to use it after so we don't have to bring it home! We just switched from the Poseidon to blue lagoon because of the number of people in our group but i LOVED all the pics and reviews from the Poseidon! It looks so private! It would be so beautiful! I was told if there was over 70 people the dance floor wouldnt be very big and thats not good for us lol So we ended up switching with another bride. Hope your planning is going well

Hello Ladies, I have something i'm concerned about and would love some feedback. I bought my dress in february and the sample size fit me like a glove but the consultant talked me into ordering a size up because it's a mermaid style and she said it would be better to get it custom altered to my body, sounded good at the time. WELL since then I've lost just under 20 pounds and now the dress is MASSIVE and i'm super worried about the alterations. I'm hoping the dress comes out of the alterations looking the same. Anyone else had a similar issue?? and how did your dress turn out?

I debated a lot about the bridemaid dress colour too, but we went with royal blue! I will add a pic to my profile of the dresses! The girls tried them on at my bachelorette party! And the girls are just going to have parasols instead of flowers, cheaper option and I love the look for a beach wedding! I might get my niece who is a junior bridemaid a bouquet from the resort. I just emailed this week about the price of boutonnieres and corsages from the resort and they are $35 and $40, so I will most defintiely be bringing fake boutonierres from home. That's pretty pricy I think!

We are bringing our own photoprapher from home. So paying the cost of their trip and a bit extra they get to stay the week, and since they are considered a guest you don't need to pay the vender fee! its a good way around it. A lot of photographers will fly to destination weddings, they get a holiday out of it and work one day lol

Hello! Thats exciting! congrats! The planning is going really well! Just trying to sort out some of the smaller details now how about you? We are getting married at 4pm on the beach and then a private reception at the blue lagoon to follow! Im sure you guest will love not to have a stressfull day! they can get up for the ceremony, maybe you can do a brunch for them after the ceremony? or a catamaran for the afternoon? I'm sure you WC can give you some suggestions! People will love just to chill on thr beach inbetween Where is your ceremony and reception being held? We are also debating the Zurielamaka show right now too. We aren't using a DJ just the ipod dock.

Have you tried Winners? I was ironing some of my fiances work dress shirts and he has a light biege one and the label says "Perry Ellis" I believe you can buy that brand there! Crazy how much effort over a shirt lol Good luck!

We are getting married at home first but only because we are bringing our own minister to preform the ceremony in Jamaica. I don't think the marriage laws are bad in Jamaica, they make it pretty easy and stress free

I was told we could do a vow renewal package! Way cheaper and you can customize and bring your own decorations!!!

I've heard this about the one time price drop too! We were told we were going to get it by the time the final payment is required but now my travel agent thinks we might not get it. Apparently they do it to intise people to book at the resort and with that package but if the resort is busy at that time, and people have already paid deposits, they don't feel the need to give the price drop. BUT we are going to fight for it, I'm brining over 70 people to the resort, I want the damn price drop lol Our trip is pricy at 1941 too!!!

I'm getting married January 30th in Jamaica! Just outside of Montego Bay at the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton! Less then 6 months now! Can't wait! Jamaica is the way to go

Hey Ladies!!! Stick in there! I posted in this thread earlier...going through all the same problems. Dealing with so much family and friend drama! I honestly thought we would have max 30-40 all said and done! We had so many negative comments about price and people were avoiding us so much. BUT all the deposits are now paid, and we have some last minute people coming and we are at about 70+ people! I couldn't be happier! In the end people still wanted to come and that makes me so happy! It was very unexpected! So I think people just need time to sit on it and really think about price and vacation time. All that matters is the bride and groom, anyone else is an added bonus

um wow! can you plan my wedding please?? haha Youeway ahead of me and I'm only getting married 10 days later haha...you have got me motivated! I found really pretty silk white fans at Michaels, 18 for $15 i believe! one of my bridesmaids is going to personalize them for me. they fold up, so super easy to put in a suit case! I was looking for a personalized tumbler for our guests, but they are expensive! So i also was looking at the factory21 travel mugs! not sure what we are going with yet. One cool thing we bought recently was the centerpieces...they are from pier one. Match our theme perfectly and were cheap. The resort was going to charge $150 per centerpiece, so all said and done ours will be $40 ish each. Just going to be an issue getting them to Jamaica. lol they are big candles and bulky! Last year I found some white starfish at Dollarama , and of course when I need them they are no where to be found! But they said they may still get them in! I will keep you posted if I see any. I'm going to look into tshirts too, might try to make them myself...not sure yet!! So much to think about! Thanks for sharing your progress! Its amazing!
