  1. I'm at about the 7 week mark and can't believe it! So much little stuff still to get done!! I talked with my WC on Tuesday and feel much better after nailing down some decisions. We luckily will have enough room nights for the private functions, so that is awesome! But it's hard to decide on decorations when I haven't seen the space since March ha ha!

  4. Abby - I talked to my lady again yesterday. Anything on the sand has the set-up fee, anything on concrete does not!
  5. Where are you guys flying from? I found my flight for $458....I've found the best prices on Tuesdays and Wednesdays...not sure if there is any rhyme or reason to that....

  8. Hey Abby, I was told that anything on the beach requires a set-up fee. $6 for cocktail hour and $12 for dinner....
  9. I am doing the complimentary package as well! I have some coral lanterns I want to hang from the chairs in the aisle.... Then I was thinking of bringing table runners and napkins that match my colors...and then I have little star fish - from michaels for like $.05 each! - that I want to put on the napkin with a place card. yes, definitely keeping it simple! I had looked at the Colin Cowie packages, but thought just what you did...it's already so beautiful there, you don't need a lot! Were you given a set up fee at all? I haven't been given one yet. I think I'm also going to rent some lanters and a few other things for the dance area. I'm having 4! It is spiraling out of control One with my side of the family....then my mom's friend wanted to throw me one....then one with my fiance's family...and then a friends one. It'll be a lot, but hopefully fun!
  10. Thanks! So nice to just chat with other people. I agree the first part was super hectic with them changing over. I think I am on my third WC, but I have to say she seems great - so far! Are any of you going with the Colin Cowie collections or just picking and choosing what you want? I'm also trying to figure out what I can bring down there with me -- are either of you doing this? I have my first bridal shower Saturday - should be fun!

  12. Does anyone else have any pictures they are willing to share? Specifically looking for pics of the Maracas Inlet....Maracas Terrace...and the inlet on the Spa side....Any help is appreciated!

  14. Wow, thanks! Definitely a lot cheaper and it's nice to make sure you can match everything! And a $60 set up isn't bad at all! Do you mind me asking where you had your ceremony and reception?
  15. Does anyone know about bringing any of your own decorations - what you are allowed to bring - and will they set up that stuff for you? We have a pretty specific coral color and I would like to bring some lanterns and possible even some table decorations...?
  16. Abby I would be very interested in hearing any help/advise you get! My wedding is there on November 11th! I have some of the same questions you do! We did visit there in March, so it's nice to have an idea of everything... But I have the same questions regarding spa appointments, having cocktail "parties" in their bars..... Have you heard at all what decorations we are allowed to bring ourselves at all? I'm worried about color matching and can supply some of the things I want, just not sure if I can do that or not....? Have you heard anything on that?
  17. I'm getting married at Aventura Spa on November 11th.....do they allow you to bring any of your own decorations? They are transitioning a few planners and I'm wondering if anyone was allowed to bring stuff and how that process goes.... Also any advise on sports to hold everything? I would like to use the Terrza pandero for almost everything and the white structure for the dance floor....thoughts? Any advise is appreciated!
