  1. Hi Muneera0302 We've just returned to London after having our wedding ceremony at Oceans Edge on the Rose Hall Development, followed by a stunning reception at Bellefield Great House. It was absolutely perfect, largely due to the work of our WC Sadeki Peterkin of Chic Events Jamaica. Our day was everything we dreamed of and Sadeki helped accommodate our budget which wasn't huge! Feel free to PM me if you'd like her details -she's based in Mo' Bay and seems to have good working relationships with the right vendors etc! Good luck and Congrats!
  2. Thanks so much Andreann. You must be beside yourself with excitement now! Have an amazing time - we can't wait to hear all about your special day!
  3. Does anyone happen to have any pics of the gazebo at all? We have booked to have our ceremony on the beach front but on our visit we were only able to catch a glimpse of the aqueducts - our visiting fell a day after the hurricane last October so we were confined to a pick up truck which kept getting stuck in the waterlogged grass! I'm trying to figure whether the gazebo, beach and aqueducts are close to each other as well as decking whether the beach front or gazebo would be the best choice for our ceremony. Andreann did you have a local minister perform your ceremony and if so how was he? I had initially begun planning through Rose Hall directly but in the space of abouts six months they had changed wedding coordinators three times which concerned me! I've now gone with a local planner who has been fantastic!
  4. Hi ladies, I have elitemconcepts prices. If you'd like me to email them to you then just drop me a message.
  5. Halfmoonbride2b or any other brides who might know, how did you pay for your videography/DJ services with elitemconcepts please? I'd also love to use them and am hoping they have a holding deposit option to secure our date. Also, how was the DJ? I am torn between using DJKevan (who I've contacted twice but not yet had a response) and trying to negotiate a package with elitemconcepts?? I don't know what I'd do without this website lol
  6. I may be wrong, but I couldn't find a thread where Jamaica brides with weddings falling on consecutive dates could explore the possibility of sharing vendors. There are some whom we would love to use but due to budget constraints couldn't justify paying the travel costs. For instance, I fell in love with photography by nylaphotography and went as far as getting quotes etc but as they are mainly US based (I'm UK based btw) I couldn't afford to use them as the travel costs are around the $1000 mark! What do other brides think?? P.S - If by chance any other Jamaica brides (Rose Hall area in particular!) happen to also like this photographer and fancy exploring splitting fees then do let me know! I'm attempting to keep within the $1500 ball park..how successful I'll be remains to be seen lol!! You never know! X:D
  7. I went onto Google Maps and it said the journey by car from Iberostar Rose Hall Suites to Rose Hall Resort was 8 minutes! That would be ideal I think..also, should save a great deal if laying on transport for your guests I would imagine. I hope that helps Laura 2013? Next task for me is to find the right photographer...if anyone is having their wedding either side of 26th July 2013 and wanted to share vendors do get in touch lol!
  8. Hi Ladies, We are intending to stay at the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites. I had originally reserved my wedding date there too but that was before I'd laid eyes on the Rose Hall Development! Budget permitting, we are hoping to have our ceremony at the beach, photo's at the aqueduct and reception at the Great House - This may change when we visit later this year but I very much doubt it. I have been dealing with The development directly and they have kindly offered discounted rates at the Hilton and Iberostar hotels..perhaps it might be an idea to get in touch with them? Being in the UK it is tricky trying to coordinate all the elements, but I'm trying to pace myself and do as much leg work as possible...fingers crossed it all goes to plan! My numbers seem to be increasing by the day too - I'm part pleased and part afraid lol!! Have you ladies found it is working out to be a budget friendly location?
  9. Hi autyb, Congrats on your engagement and securing your venue! I haven't had my wedding/ceremony at Rose Hall Great House, but I have booked for July 2013 so am equally interested to hear whether any other brides have and what their experiences were. Are you having both your ceremony and reception at the Great House? When are you getting married?
  10. Hi Ladies, I am an IRHS bride - booked and confirmed for July 26th 2013. Our most important factor is that we get married on the beach, but our only reservation is the level of privacy we'll have during our ceremony! Does anyone have any experiences, both positive and negative, that they can pass on regarding this? As there wasn't anything to pay in terms of deposit - I went ahead and reserved our date, as we had always intended to stay at IRHS regardless. HOWEVER (cringe), I put a deposit down for the Great House and beach on the Rosehall Estate which is stunning!! I am now torn between the two locations - I know I'm guaranteed privacy at Rose Hall, but they are struggling to accommodate my budget for both the beach wedding ceremony and a buffet dinner reception. I can have the beach ceremony, including champagne toast and a cake, followed by hors d'oeuvres for an hour. We had our hearts set on a buffet dinner too though and we're not sure whether the IRHS would be too accommodating if we wanted to have our reception there after foregoing the actual ceremony...It just seems a shame to have between 30-60 people come all that way from England for such a short celebration. As grateful as I am to be in the position of having both venues, I am racking my brain to try and find a solution without too much disappointment! Now I wonder whether staying at the Hilton would make more sense, but I wasn't sure whether they use the same areas on the Rose Hall estate as the Rosehall Estate itself have offered us?? Any suggestions would be extremely appreciated! Congrats to you all....I look forward to many more wedding conversations -I think my family are bored of it already lol!!!

  12. I'm also a 2013 bride! My Fiancé and I are planning for a July wedding in Montego Bay, Jamaica! As we've immediate family who teach and can't get holiday from school we're having to have our wedding during the school vacation (I'm not sure if the US and Jamaican Summer break falls between July-Sept as it does here in the UK???) it does affect our flight costs somewhat but what can you do?? My head is spinning with ideas and this website is most definitely a Godsend! I've not secured a venue yet but we've always dreamt of getting married on the beach. I'm struggling to figure out whether it's more cost effective to get married at a private villa or at an all inclusive hotel?! We're likely to be a party of 60 so it should be very interesting lol! Congrats to you all...new brides and born again brides renewing your vows!!!
