That's great info, I didn't know Bing did that. We're going Continental out of Newark for ours, June 24, 2012. Prices had been low 400s (before taxes) but we haven't bought our tix yet and of course they went up about a hundred. We have a travel agent watching for us, so hopefully it will take a dip again soon... Worst case scenario we can eat up frequent flyer miles. We wanted just to use them for a first class upgrade not use them all for the coach ticket alone!

We are staying at Dreams Palm Beach. It's about 15 minutes from the JF. We also have a handful of guests with time shares that will stay elsewhere, and maybe get a day pass for DPB to spend a little time with us there. That's the good thing about having it at the Jellyfish. Guests can really stay where ever they like, so just pick a resort that works for you...

Don't be sorry! The 24th is good! I'm not disappointed. I only first contacted Mayte 6 weeks ago. I'm just happy she still had a weekend date in June open!

My response was for her to use 30 guests as an estimate for pre-invoice and I told her I'd patiently wait for her to send me instructions for deposit. Hopefully she will let me know by the end of the month. By the time I get all the invites together I'd like to have them in the mail no later than Jan 31. Still a little jealous you got my date (6/29), but I'm not at all disappointed to have 6/24 and to have it at the Jellyfish ;-)

Finally got a response email from Mayte! Someone on here said she had some time off for the holidays, but she says the opposite, she was just super busy. Give her time, ladies who are waiting for replies. Now my question for those of you who have had your wedding already, is it safe to send out my invitations now for my June 2012 wedding at the Jellyfish? She assures me the date is reserved, but has not given me an amount for deposit and instructions to send it, even after I have made the request twice. I really wanted to have a deposit in before sending the invites, mostly for my own peace of mind, but I really need to get people to start booking. Thoughts? Advice? Also, how close to the wedding did you start planning details with her? Did you email things like colors, flowers, decor, etc as you chose them, or did she ask for it all at a certain point? When does all that happen?

Jlarruda you are a wealth of great information! Erin/InloveinKorea - I share your worries! My wedding is THIS June 24! Still haven't heard from Mayte since before Christmas, trying not to lose my mind! We are starting to get a lot of pressure for travel and booking information from family members but until I have sent Mayte our deposit I don't want to send the invitations. I can't wait to get this ball really rolling! I also wanted to make sure we can do a civil ceremony on a Sunday... that could be a big issue!

Thanks so much! That's kinda what I though was going on. I haven't sent a second email with my questions, I'll give her a while longer. Sometimes a little reassurance from people around here helps to calm the already super stressed nerves! We are just under 6 months now and I don't want to have people give travel deposits until after I give the JF our deposit. Trying to get the ball rolling!

Has anybody heard from Mayte lately? I emailed her the week before Christmas with a few questions and have not heard back. I know it's the holidays and I am sure she has been busy, but I'm a little concerned. We need her to get us a pre-invoice so we can get the deposit in!

We booked the Jellyfish for June 24, 2012, but we are still working with our travel agent to book our resort and plane tickets. The Majestic resorts are on the short list of possibilities, as well as Dreams Palm Beach and Melia Caribe Tropical. It will all probably come down to availability and budget. I'm trying not to stress but the longer it goes the harder it gets!! During the whole process it seems as soon as I think I have it all figured out, something else comes up and it's back to square 1!

June 24, 2012 Jellyfish!

What did you think of the Melia? We booked the Jellyfish for wedding and reception, but are working with a TA to book our resort. The Melia is super close to the Jellyfish, which is nice, but I have heard somewhat mixed reviews of the resort itself. We are also considering Dreams PB PC and ME/MC.

Thanks! It's a somewhat blind choice, but from what I have been hearing and reading on here, I know it's going to be great!

How about in the summer? We are getting married in late June, looking at a 4pm wedding at the Jellyfish.

Hi all! Carrie here New to the site (obviously) and trying to plan our wedding (on kind of short notice) for Punta Cana! We have a tentative date for 6/29/12 at the Hard Rock (been in contact with the resort, haven't signed the contract yet), but I'm having reservations on going all in for this place. We love the date and love Punta Cana, however choosing this location will be more costly for our guests, although cheaper for us. I'm just not sure the resort is going to be what I have been picturing as the ideal in my head. I would much rather stay at Majestic Colonial or Elegance and have the wedding at the Jellyfish. Of course, this would not be the "free" wedding we could get at the Hard Rock, but really, have you seen pics of a wedding at the Jellyfish? THAT is EXACTLY the kind of caribbean beach wedding I have dreamed of, and IMO, soooo worth the cost! Plus, MC/ME would be about 1/2 the price for my guests. HOWEVER, the other problem, the Jellyfish doesn't have the date available . My FI I think (due to family pressure) is ready to sign on for the Hard Rock, and it would give us the date we want, but possibly less family and friends able to afford it. He has seen information and pics on the Jellyfish and thinks it's great too, so I could probably convince him to have it there, but then we compromise on a different date, which with the short notice ( >7 months), would probably be in the middle of the week... What do we do?!? Has anyone out there run into similar issues? Any advice on what to do??

We have gone back and forth with Hard Rock or MC, and now we are leaning toward staying at MC/ME but with our wedding and reception at the Jellyfish... It just seems like you might get more for the money that way but I'm having a hard time getting in touch with WCs and locking down the date(s)... (Super STRESSED! )
