Yes we are doing a welcome party at the buffet the night all the guests arrive. We will hand out our welcome bags/favors then. We aren't doing a rehearsal dinner, just a simple walk through so everyone knows where they're supposed to stand etc. Still concerned about who is officiating the symbolic ceremony......

Hi everyone! We getting legally married in Canada first as well and doing a symbolic ceremony at OCT. Does anyone know who actually "officiates" the symbolic ceremony? I would like a someone who knows what they're doing to do a greeting, exchange of vows, exchange of rings and announcement. I really want it to go smoothly.... Also, I have a number of things in order and would like your advice on whether I'm missing anything or not.... I have done: photographer, beach ceremony, terrace reception, seating plan, chosen MCs, ipod playlist for reception (still working on ceremony), OOT bags (these are our favours), working on choosing menu still, decorations (buying from resort), dress/jewellery/garter/barefoot sandals/flops for dancing Need to do: "officiant" of ceremony find out about steamer/iron finalizing menu guys outfits gifts for bridal party gift for fiance alterations on dress guest mat (signing it) vows program for reception ask guests about menu restrictions I am, of course, more concerned if there is anything I'm not thinking of....please help....I'm feeling the time crunch and am trying to do a few things each weekend so that when the date gets really close I wont have anything to do and just relax 2.5 months away

Well ladies I think I finally have everything for my OOT bags!! I've been following all kinds of posts and researching what past guests have actually used for the bags. Here is what I ended up with: Canvass tote bag from cheaptotes (we may iron on something but are waiting for the bags to arrive to decide) 20 oz Bubba mugs (girls get purple and guys get blue). We are putting labels in these (DIY project) to personalize them. Kleenex Sanitizer from bath and body works Warm fuzzy socks for the ladies (tile floors are very cold) Condoms for singles Drug bag (Imodium, Advil, tums) Post-it pad with pen. Bandaids (water-resistant) Itinerary for wedding day. Blistex with sunscreen. Beef jerky and gum. Soooo relieved to have the leg work completed for these!

We are getting married in Puerto Morelos (20 km south of Cancun). We have booked March 27, 2012 at 5pm with reception at 7pm. The almanacs say the sun sets at 6pm - does this mean it starts going down or is gone by 6pm? We have a terrace reception planned - are we crazy...is it likely to be quite windy??

Hey ladies! I'm trying to decide whether to bring/ship center pieces. I would rather not but I don't really know what the table set up looks like? We are doing the reception on the lobby terrace. What do you think-are centerpieces necessary? I don't know if there is anything else I should be doing.....keep wondering if I've forgotten something...... Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

AwayWeGo: That's great news!!! I haven't been able to find anything about there being a disco. A lot of our friends are attending and they are looking to PARTY so I'm thrilled to read that they actually DO have a disco (it's not just for the preferred club is it?). What plans have you made so far? What package are you going with, etc? We arrive the 24th and are staying for 2 weeks; however, the majority of our guests are arriving the 25th for a week. I cannot open the attachment you posted.....
