  1. Stella, I will definitely let you know...I can't wait for them to come in!! Bunny, decisions decisions!! I don't know...I may just put my stuff in one of my checked bags. I'm wondering how often people get stuff confiscated like that? Also, I wonder if the meds/gatorade packets were put inside of something else like a first aid kit or something...maybe they would overlook them? Man, I just don't know what to do either!
  2. I just ordered samples of the sashes from https://www.tableclothsfactory.com and got free shipping! I just don't know what colors to do so I ordered a couple different ones. If any of you ladies are interested, I would suggest ordering asap because free shipping ends today. I'm so excited...now I just have to wait 7-14 days for them to come
  3. Thank you! I will definitely have to check out that website! If you do send down a couple packages, let me know how it turns out because I may do the same. I am in the same boat as you...I don't want to spend all this money and put the effort into the OOT bags only to have half of it stuck in customs
  4. BunnyBride - I have been working with Gloria from the start and she has been wonderful. I know it's hard not to worry, since Nayeli was handling your wedding initially - but seriously Gloria has been great! On a side note, I just saw your post about OOT bags and stuff you've gotten so far. Where did you get your chair sashes? I would rather buy some and bring them down as opposed to paying for them down there. Another thing...I didn't even think about customs confiscating the Gatorade packets, advil/pepto/etc!!! I hope that doesn't happen because that would totally ruin the bags ok maybe that's a little dramatic but it would really suck!!
  5. We are having our welcome dinner at Toscana and our "reception" at Agave. We are doing a semi-private dinner in place of a traditional reception because we are spending so much money on our AHR. I am getting so excited! I just bought passport covers and luggage tags for my 5 girls and I've been basically glued to Ebay the last 2 weeks scouring for OOT bag loot! How are you ladies doing with planning and everything?
  6. Chelsea, I love your pictures!!!!
  7. I read some reviews on the other thread that the spa does a pretty good job with hair and makeup. I haven't decided what to do yet. I'm still trying to figure out how much everything costs. The flower/gazebo/cake options are really confusing to me...
  8. By the way...for all of you ladies not working with Gloria...did your WC tell you how much it would cost to have an outside photographer? Gloria told me it was going to cost $500 but from reading the other thread, people are saying it should only be $150 for the photographer to purchase a day pass. Just curious what you all have been told?
  9. OMG me too! I love Pinterest! Sorry, I didn't realize you had already posted your wedding date on the first page of the thread. I don't mind doing my own make-up but I think I'm going to treat myself for the wedding. I don't wear a whole lot of make-up to begin with, so I think it will be cool to let a pro handle it. I want to do it for my girls too but I'm still trying to decide if it will fit in the budget. This wedding is becoming so expensive! LOL
  10. Hi Jill! What is your wedding date? I love that you are doing a TTD...are you wearing your actual dress for that? We want to do a TTD (haven't decided if it's in the budget yet), and I can't decide if I want to wear my actual dress or if I want to buy a cheap one just for that. If we weren't having an at-home reception 2 weeks after our MX Wedding, I could care less about wearing my actual dress - I guess I'm just worried I'll ruin it and not have a dress for our reception LOL
  11. We just booked Derek Campbell last week (Photos in Cancun) and are very excited! I was not thrilled with the $500 outside vendor fee but I didn't really care for the photographer they had on site. Ivan Luckie is great! That is so exciting for you! I just emailed Gloria to get more info on the wedding. I think it's kind of cool that we don't have to make all of the decisions until almost wedding time. I feel like that would really stress some brides out, but I am pretty laid back. I just feel like it gives me time to focus on my at-home reception for now and get all those details figured out. We are planning on having about 20 people down for the wedding. It is starting to get frustrating though because we have people saying they are interested in going but no one is ready to book. Now our prices have gone up $300 and people are complaining about the price increase. We keep telling them to put down a deposit to keep the lower prices locked in. Drives me crazy!!! Are you using someone on-site for hair and makeup or are you thinking about hiring someone for that?
  12. Glad you were finally able to post Who are you using for you photographer? We just sent out our save-the-dates (a little late!), but I haven't decided what I want to do for the invitations yet. I am all over the place these days - I guess I'm just kind of confused about what all is included and when we make our selections. No one has really explained everything to me. Do we make our selections (flowers, ceremony music, etc...) when we get down there?
  13. I think we are definitely going to do a TTD shoot. I am going back and forth on whether or not I want to buy a separate dress. I just want to make sure I don't ruin my dress because I have to wear it 2 weeks after the wedding at my AHR. So far, it sounds like a trip to the dry cleaners will do the trick!
  14. Yay! Another ERC bride! Gloria is the coordinator that I've been working with. Our dates are super close! What have you planned so far?
  15. Hi! How exciting! Planning is going pretty good so far. We are working with Gloria...but we have been putting most of our efforts lately into the AHR. I finally got my dress ordered a few weeks ago though! How is your planning coming along? Which package are you doing? We are doing the Excellence package, because I our wedding is going to be pretty small. I think we may just go to dinner afterwards rather than have a reception. We are planning a big reception at home so I don't want to spend a ton of money for a big to-do down in Mexico. Look forward to hearing all about your wedding! Ashley
  16. Love all these pics! We still haven't decided on a cake but I'll be sure to come back and post when we do
  17. Hi Ladies - I tried doing a search and it doesn't seem like anyone else is getting married here! We are getting married here June 26th, 2012. Just wanting to connect with other Excellence brides Ashley
  18. We are getting married in June at the Excellence Riviera Cancun and we are having the ceremony on a Tuesday evening at 6pm to avoid the heat. I've read that temps can be brutal during the day but I checked the almanac and it seems to only be in the 80s that time of year. You should consider doing a weekday evening ceremony, I'm sure they'll have some weekday dates available for you! By the way, The Excellence properties are just beautiful
