  1. Hey Summer- Here is a pdf that I got from MP a while back for private events. They have black tablecloths as a choice. Hope this helps! Private Events MPCancun.pdf
  2. [email protected] Here's her address. I hope that you are able to get in contact with her. If not I would give them a call and ask to speak with someone. A month out and no word I think I would be freaking out too!!! My on-site coordinator is Zaray and she seems extremely helpful and on top of things thus far. She's out of the office until 3/30 but you might give her a shout too. Here is her email address. [email protected] Good luck!!!
  3. Welcome!!! My advice is to read through this thread if you haven't done so already. You'll find a ton on information on here already. As far as negotiations go they don't negotiate well. Keep all of your email correspondence with every coordinator that is assigned to you. I'm on my 5th one since last summer. You will hear on here the coordinators sometimes quote different prices but it seems lately they are getting more consistent. Be patient they take a long time to get back with you sometimes and if you go for a couple of weeks without hearing from your coordinator after you have emailed her, check and see if she's still employed there. It seems they have a very high turnover rate. And lastly remember that most of the brides on here at some point in time have been about to give up on MP but once they got to the resort everything turned out ok. Happy planning!!!
  4. Good Afternoon ladies!!! So we got word that we have reach the 60 night magical number!! I was getting concerned as we have 40 guests coming with several of those booking outside our group booking. I didn't want to pay $400 a table for a reception and they would not budge on the dinner reservation for 35. Also heard from Zaray our on-site wedding coordinator. Yay!!! I emailed her and made sure that we were at the Bugambilia Gazebo that Lizzie and I discussed in September. She didn't have record of that conversation so ****LISTEN UP NEW BRIDES******** KEEP ALL OF YOUR EMAIL CORRESPONDENCE!!! THIS IS YOUR AMMUNITION WHEN NEGOTIATING WITH MP!! I also reserved the Bugambilia Terrace for our private event (originally it was to be a cocktail hour then we met the 60 nights). Once you get your on-site coordinator they will send you a spreadsheet with several pages. One with pricing for extras, one for pricing for private events, one with a form to fill out for your events, DJ pricing, Dining options (meaning the restaurants and how many people you can actually make a reservation for), and there's a form to fill out with your guests travel dates and times. So you will need to get this information from your guest if they booked elsewhere. I'm waiting on her to get back into the office to answer a few questions and then I think we will be set. 72 days left!!!
  5. Super cute!!! I love the colors too! They are going to look great.
  6. Had a near heartattack a moment ago. I received a call from Anna at Hard Rock Hotel about my upcoming wedding. Um I didn't think I reserved a wedding there so I called the number back and it goes to the Palace Resorts Wedding department. Fortunately Janina answers (let me just tell you how much I love her and how incredibly helpful she always is!!) and she double checks yes we are scheduled to get married June 9 at Moon Palace at 5pm. Ok, whew! Then I ask about Cristina being our new coordinator since that's what she told me last week but that's again changed to the onsite coordinator Zaray and gives me her email address to get in contact with her along with telling me she will be emailing her as well. This makes me feel better about the whole thing. BUT......does anyone know anything about Zaray? I don't believe I remember hearing her name on the boards. If anyone knows of her and her work please let me know. I have been pretty laid back thus far but we are nearing the 60 day mark and I feel like we need to get the final details down on paper. Thanks ladies!! Happy planning!
  7. Have a great time on your trip!! So glad to hear that your wrist is doing better. At least you won't have a cast on for the big day. Can't wait to hear how it goes!!
  8. As you probably read through this you'll see a trend with the coordinators and they are all very slow to respond. I too had Beatriz and first Lizzie and supposedly reserved one of the gazebos under Lizzie but once I was assigned to Beatriz she didn't have anything on that. From what I have been told you are technically not assigned your locations until after 90 days but you might want to get that in writing. That's your defense against these people. To be honest I'm surprised they told you that you already have Kalena bc most of the time you do not get an onsite coordinator until 90 days before. Maybe this is new change (since they are changing everything else up). If I don't hear from someone after emailing them a couple of times then I always email Janina in the Miami office. She makes sure that the coordinators are keeping up with their brides. So if all else fails email her. You still have plenty of time to get all you want so don't worry. As you can tell everything always works out in the end at MP and all the brides are happy. Let us know if you need help. Congrats and happy planning!! I have about 7 months but I just want everything to be confirmed so I can focus on other things. I have spent the past 2 months emailing back and forth with Beatriz all the add ons and package details we wanted to incorporate. I have already made a deposit to reserve the locations and decor through Zuniga. Should I be worried or they will have all this on file? In my experience it has been one thing to another working with Palace resorts. Just recently I was told I never reserved the Tucan Gazebo and they wanted to move me to the Catholic Gazebo when I informed them that I am having a Jewish ceremony WTF? after some fighting Beatriz promised it was ours and we signed the contract. Now im worried that since she is gone they may move us anyways.. what do you think? At one point we wanted to cancel and move to Dreams but decided to deal with it and stay strong. Your comments have definitly put me at ease and I relay all to my fiance. We are sticking it through as you ladies have already done so.
  9. Congrats!!!! So glad that everything went smoothly! Have a great rest of your honeymoon!!
  10. Beatriz is no longer there. You will need to contact Janina to get reassigned to someone else. Sorry to bring stressful bad news to you on a Friday!! My new coordinator is Cristina but I have yet to hear from her. We are 78 days out. I was supposed to have a call scheduled with Beatriz on April 2 to get things finalized but I don't know where that stands now. Good luck to you!
  11. I have heard wonderful things about Kalena. Hopefully it all works out well for you!
  12. Coco!!!! OMG I love your ring!!!! I'm a September baby and love me some sapphires! It's gorgeous for a gorgeous lady. BTW I'm still on the hunt for the perfect shoes! For those that had Beatriz for your WC I emailed Janina a couple of days ago and she has reassigned Cristina Valdiviezo and she would be contacting me soon. So if you haven't heard from anyone contact Janina and she will get you in contact with your wedding coordinator. Ladydi - I'm so glad that you posted about Smile Market. Makes my heart feel better about not hiring outside. Pictures are important but so is staying within my budget.
  13. I say take your photographer. You don't have to list him as an outside vendor you list him as a guest. Plus you'll get to count his room nights towards your events.
  14. Ladydi you looked AMAZING!!! I haven't had a chance to tell you that yet! I saw your pics on the Smile Market page a few days after your wedding. Beautiful day and beautiful couple!! CONGRATS!
  15. I feel your pain!! As I said before my sister tried to back out on me. And just last week I had another bridesmaid tell me that she couldn't come.....she gave me reasons for her job BUT I think it has to do with the fact that her ex is also in the wedding (not paired up) and has recently proposed to his new lady. She tried to tell me that she looked into coming in on Friday and leaving Sunday but the cost was over $3000 and the type of person I am I looked up flights and booking a room through the website and it was not that much. So whatever. We have had several people say they were coming got all the information and now they aren't for various reasons. I was hurt and frustrated even through a huge hissy fit but now I'm just like whatever about it. I have even said to several people that were complaining about not being at the wedding that we planned this far enough in advance for people to save and plan for it and if they choose not to be there then it's their own fault. This is a really awesome place and reasonable when you factor in all you get on this vacation. My advice is try not to let it get to you.....throw a screaming hissy fit if you need to and then let it go. Don't let it ruin what's supposed to be one of the happiest moments in your life. Remember this is ultimately about you and your FI and nobody else. Make this what you guys want and no one else. ** ** Hugs!
  16. OMG!!! I haven't been on the board in a while and I'm glad that I saw this post. I'm supposed to have a call with her April 2!!! GRRRR these people are really starting to irritate me. I haven't had a chance to read through everyone's post but I have an email from Beatriz stating that it's a $100 set up fee per table if you bring your own decor. That's ridiculous to spread out some table clothes or set out some candles. I'm wondering if anyone else has gotten a cheaper price. When I first started this whole process it was a flat rate of $65!!!
  17. Maybe you can have a welcome dinner or a departing breakfast. You could also take the opportunity to have a cocktail hour in between the time your "reception" starts and the wedding. It will give your guests something to do while you and your hubby take pictures afterwards.
  18. Oh Jamie I'm so sorry to hear this!! My sister who agreed to be in the wedding pulled this crap on me too. A text saying they weren't going to be able to afford it after she committed to be a bridesmaid. Pissed me off!! Especially knowing how she and her husband spend money on drinking, season football tickets and shopping. Really you couldn't plan a year in advance. But they ended up working it out and will be in attendance. So hopefully your brothers can put aside their differences and be there for YOU their SISTER!! Silly siblings.......the can all be asses sometimes!! I'm sorry to hear about your friends too. One thing you can count on is the people that do come to your wedding are there simply because they want to be there for you and your FI big day those people are your true friends. Don't feel foolish for that "friend" not being honest with you. It's her loss not yours!
  19. Good Morning Ladies- Well my wedding plans are being put on hold for a little while. My momma passed out yesterday (reasons still to be determined) and fell flat on her face. She woke up in a pool of blood. After several hours of tests, x-rays and ct scans there are no broken bones (we were extremely concerned about her nose) and just some minor whiplash from where her head bounced on the floor. Her face is badly bruised and she has a "razzberry" under her left eye from where she slid across the tile. Thank God there was nothing worse. But anyways I'm putting things on hold until after I get back from going home on checking on her. She's going to be having some test done on her heart to see if it was the culprit. She didn't experience any dizziness or wasn't light headed prior to passing out. So until I get her all fixed up I'm going to put things on hold for a little while......wedding can wait my momma's health is way more important! Can't have a wedding if she's not there. For the ladies that have been dealing with the set up fees.......do any of you have paperwork that states the $65 for the set up? I think our contract stated that. If so I'll be fighting for that if we decided to have more than the cocktail hour. Emma - you should qualify for unlimited private events since you already have 91 nights. You should be able to find it under the wedding amenities section on the website. I just looked it up. The only thing that is specified now compared to when the rest of us booked our weddings is the time allotted for each day. They only let you have 3 hours a day for events = one hour cocktail hour and a 2 hour dinner. You and your hubby will get 7 free nights as well. Congrats to you!!! I know we are all hoping for the same kind of turn out with our guest. Happy planning ladies!! I'm still going to be checking in on the site to keep up with everyone!
  20. Congrats!!!! Also glad to hear that the wrist is doing much better!!
