  1. Hi Sachele, Yes, we will be there at the same time. Nov 2nd- 9th is my time frame. My ceremony is at 3pm and I do not know whether to choose the Coba or Talumn? I will decide once I get there, I put Coba on invitations just to say something...lol Are you having a welcome party? I am doing mine at the Cove Terrace on Friday night. Where are you having the reception? I haven't picked the spot yet... too many options...Suggestions? Would be really cool if we could meet up during our stay...
  2. Hi Taryn, I am so so so glad your Dad and your family is coming!!!! It will all work out, just like I told you... see! I know you must be very, very happy! Yes, we will miss each other..I am getting there Nov 2nd and flying back Nov 9th, but do not worry... I will post everything, good and bad as soon as I come back so that you know the ins and outs. I always follow through, so I promise you will know the details:) After I come back, I will have about 3 weeks to plan the honeymoon activities in Europe, which will be a pain..renting cars, currency exchanges etc but as always I will manage:) I think this trip will be much worse to plan than the wedding trip... Oh another thing is: I just got info from WC stating that all spa treatments have to be canceled 72 hrs prior to arrival at the hotel and paid for the moment you check in. If not.. the reservations will be canceled. Just heads up! I will have overlays, runners, chair sashes- all satin in royal blue. If you need to add some color to your tables, I think it would contrast well with turquoise.. I can leave it all for you. If you don't use it then maybe we can find another bride who can? I will have some table decorations- centerpieces that have turquoise and teal in them- they are wreaths made from real dry flowers- beautiful! But will not be dragging them back, so you can have those, too. My wedding coordinator is Cristina- I would just leave it with her. I guess you just reminded me of a cake topper:)
  3. Hello Ladies! So I have 81 days to go.. Time is just flying by...As far as planning...I upgraded to sapphire collection a couple of weeks ago, so that I won't need to worry about the ceremony decor. I still need to : buy FI a wedding band, my jewelry, BM jewelry and their bouquets..., part of my favors just arrived and the other will be here on Thursday so then I will need to put those together. Other than that I need to work on vows still and then itinerary of the extra trips we are going to take. I actually just send out the invitations yesterday with a RSVP date Sep 10th These took forever but are absolutely beautiful, so worth the wait...! I honestly feel like I still have lots to do but on the other hand I will have had only 5 months to plan it all... Happy Planning everyone!
  4. Thanks Girls for all the help! My WC told me many brides have shipped to the resort but some items did not get there on time I guess I will be dragging these things with me... I think what I might to is just buy one huge old suitcase, fill it up with stuff and just leave it all there when I am done. It would be awesome if I could leave t there and one of you Girls could use it. At least it wouldn't all go to waste...
  5. Thank you Ladies! I did check n all the regular places and there are no plastic Vases anywhere- not even online. Yes, I am shipping to the hotel- everything basically even the favors. Have not heard about such policy.
  6. Hi Guys! I have a question please! Does anybody know where to buy acrylic/ plastic clear cylinder vases? About 15" tall? I have been looking everywhere and nothing!! Thank You!
  7. Hi Taryn, I am really sorry to hear that. I think this will help you... when I hired my TA I specified that I DO NOT WISH to be dealing with bookings, money, CC payments etc. She actually offered to be sending out e-maisl, reminders, requested a phone list from me for all the guests and basically is HARASSING lol them for payments because that's exactly what they do...-" Next week, not this paycheck etc" She told me not to worry that she will handle everything and if she has to call them in the pm- she would do that, too. So, now if I want her to add another guest to the list I just e-mail their info and she keeps e-mailing and calling. I do NOTHING and wait for updates via e-mail. That's it. I do not know you.. but you have helped me a lot with your advice and by what I can say- you worked your b.tt off for all the OOT and Beautiful invites, that's way more than regular brides do.( read- ME:) You have made sure that everything is so coordinated and just beautiful, so now tell your TA to do all the e-mails and to haut your guests for you! You will be surprised what an effect can that have on people- they will act differently dealing with a stranger than You. Another example... I am a personal trainer and have my own studio in FL. Prior to hiring an assistant to do billing for me, I was MISERABLE! I felt bad for charging people, I always gave discounts, post poned cashing checks etc When I got that part straightened out- my assistant acts like the " BAD Guy" - not me- everything has been running so smoothly - and I do not feel bad anymore! So, now back to you... when somebody mentions wedding to me and the the deposit schedule and how hard is it to make payments etc, I simply say: " Oh, Karen I am so sorry to hear that but I hired somebody specifically for dealing with bookings! Do you have her number? She is very sweet and you can talk to her about your concerns" Taryn, I am not joking you... I get feedback from my TA every 10 days or so- and she never hears them complain.. because they feel embarrased to be complaining about money to a complete stranger. They give their CC and she sends them confirmation of payment. Hush. Not even one word uttered about payments. Another thing is... people whom you are a priority to- WILL BE THERE! Even if they have to save $100/$200 a month - they will find a way. Other people will drive you nuts and complain like crazy! You know what's funny? My fiance said the other night " Edyta, when you think about the destination weddings, all the guests are paying for themselves to be on a vacation! It's not like they are giving the couple $1200! It's for THEM! not US!" I think he is so right. So, please do not worry. I am leaving in less than 4 months. You are 2 weeks behind me.. you will be fine... the scenery is way better than any City Hall I have seen or been to, at least in the US,... I am sure you and your fiance will have the time of your life! Take Care:) Edyta
  8. Hi Jessica! You are on the ball! I can always count on your help:) You remind me of my friend Julie- she is a teacher and is very creative just like you are:) Yes, this document will really help! I can open everything and download it, too.. I paid to be some kind of a supporter so that I could open the documents on this website. I knew I would never make it to have 150 posts! Thank you, again... Can't wait to see all of your pics on facebook! Edyta Private Events Spa_Cove JSAV.pdf
  9. Hi Jessica! I love your Gazebo choice- Do You think 35 people will fit in it? Another question, would you please post a location document with pictures? I am looking through my wedding stuff and the only document I have is the 3 gazebo choices.. that's it. I want to have a welcome coctail party - just like you did and then private reception. I am still debating whether or not to throw in the coctail hr prior to reception- or just send guests to one of the bars? Wedding is at 3pm. Sunset at 530pm- so that's just enough time to take pics and head to the reception. What do you think? If I was one of the guests I would like to go and freshen up before the reception...but again that's a preference...Thank You!
  10. Jessica, thank you so much for your help. I think I will go with your advice and bring my own decorations, I think I can manage to pack table overlays and sashes, maybe even some other decor... You have been a huge help to me!!! Also, I sawyour pictures on facebook- I think this was the TTD session...? Love them, natural and not posed.
  11. Hi Girls!!! Thank you so much for the review. It looks like you had an amazing time despite few mishaps:) A questions for all of you ladies: I just received 2 quotes 1. for decor from Zuniga 2. For ipod rental from JSAV. Zuniga wanted for 35 sashes and 8 vases with one flower 2.5K JSAV quoted me $600 for 1 speaker and an ipod. Are guys paying all these fees? I just can't possibly imagine doing that. Especially that after Mexico we are going for 3 weeks to Europe to visit my family and friends and I refuse to pay 2.5 K for some plastic vases that I can get from Dollar General for 4 bucks a piece! 2.5 K is one week of skiing on honeymoon in the Alps for that!!! Sorry, am so angry but don't really know what to do. What are you guys doing for decor and music? Any ideas would help!!!
  12. Hi Jessica, Thank you so much for such a detailed review. Very helpful. I have a question about your OOT bags... Did the guest like them? Were they useful or expected? I decided not to do them and give guests favors from 1.Poland- since that's where I am from 2 US since FI from there and Mexico since that's where we chose to get married. I decisded not to bring anything with me on the plane and am having it all shiped to the resort ( cheap!). I love your decorations- did you bring them with you? Or they supplied them? Thank you !
  13. Yay! I did, finally! lol I am trying not to stress. I picked a destination wedding not to stress! lol Our travel agent sent out e-mail invitations with a deadline per my request. And everybody who wanted to go had to put down a deposit that eliminated the ones that didn't want to be there anyways. Yesenia sent the info out but I found it almost impossible to pick all this stuff out without even being there or looking at it. I will try to read through this thread as much as I can on here before deciding on location, restaurant etc. I paid to be a supporter so I can open any attachments on here, so that's great! The Brides Maids are a completely unique idea for me- we do not have any in Poland nor do we have a GM. I asked my FI and he says he really doesn't care... So I thought maybe of having 2 BM since all of my friends live in Europe- it's hard to coordinate all of it long distance. And maybe just one guy. And that's it! Silky, flowy dress for me- Pronovias Bosque amd beige suite for him. I will wear sapphire shoes for the ceremony and have a sapphire bouqet with a hint of minty green. For the reception I am going to wear a short white dress and white shoes. This is how far I have gotten... Thank you so much for welcoming me!!! I will start reading tonight!
  14. Thank you sach26 for the info! I will check out the invitations vendor and see what I can come up with. I am just starting looking through the threads- a ot of info!!!

  16. Thank You! Good idea about the sand dollars! At least not something eleborate that takes a lot of time but at the same time cute. Yes, it would be great if he could take an additional bag with gifts Watch his wedding will be probably 1 hr from where I live.. that would be ust too ironic Is he Polish? If he isn't he will be very, very surprised at the wedding traditions there and how much people drink at a traditional Polish wedding lol The celebrations last for days and days.... And the food is so delicious! We are going for our honeymoon to Poland and London and the Netherlands for 3 weeeks at Christmas and New Years time. Funny thing is I am more excited about this trip then the wedding itself. Maybe because we got legally married in January to spare the trouble of blood tests, witnesses etc in Mexico. Are yu guys doing that too? Thank you for your help! If you see anywhere something sapphire, cobalt blue and mint please let me know!
  17. Thank You!!!! No, I haven't been to Aventura but a couple of my friends have... and said it's beautiful, too! Yes, I do have the ceremony dress and a reception dress, 2 pairs of shoes and a potographer booked. And that's about it Oh and so far I have 26 people booked. I have no idea who to use for make up, do you know of anyone in particular? Is the resort staff any good?Oh, and after seeing their wedding photos' samples- I immediately hired somebody else... lol I don't think I can do all the crafts and cutting but would appreciate a good site where I could order my invitations from... Thanks again for the help!
  18. So, I finally found this thread! Wedding November 5th at Aventura and NOTHING done. Please help!
  19. I think from all the ones I have seen, these are the cutest. I would use it everywhere! Tried amazon but couldn't find a blue one..
  20. Hello Ladies! I have heard about other brides using Maracas as their centerpieces combined with candles and flowers. They said it looked amazing! Just something to think about!
  21. Hi! I just saw you are getting married at the same resort I am just one week later. Are you planning on shipping all of your welcome bags or carrying them on the plane ? I haven't even started mine and am still debating whether I should go that route or not. I am also deliberating getting weding favors that the guests can keep and use but still don't know what it might be. Ah, too many decisions, too little time lol
  22. Hi Erin! Thank you so much for the idea of shipping them directly to the guests. One problem I have is that my family is from Poland, my friends are flying from Europe so the costs are going to kill me!!! Are you doing any wedding favors? See, I am from Poland and we do not do anything like that over there hence me being so oblivious to the whole idea I am doing a welcome party/ coctail hr where I would like to welcome everybody and give SOMETHING that they will not throw away and hopefully keep. But I have no idea what... Anyway, thank you so much for suggestions. Really helpful!
  23. Hello Ladies! I have been looking through this thread and it amazes me how much time, effort and work you guys put into creating those OOT"s. I honestly do not have a clue what to do about the welcome bags or OOT's, I can't imagine hauling the stuff to Mexico and then assemble them there! Is there anything else I could do to make my guests feel welcome? I will have about 35 people total. Wedding in November the 5th. Please help! Any ideas are welcome! Edyta
  24. Brides Be Careful! Here's a link to my review of the dress I received from wellbridal.com. It took me 5 months to get my money back by disputing charges with my CC company. The Chinese company offered nothing! http://www.my-wedding-reception-planning.com/well-bridalcom1.html Thanks to this review I have saved brides a lot of money and headaches! Hopefully this will be useful to somebody out there. Edyta
  25. First off, I never wanted a traditional wedding with 150 people whom I hardly knew in the first place. I wanted it to be different and fun and ACTIVE!!! I understood that my parents and my sister wouldn't be able to come all the way from Poland to Mexico, deal with the costs and the visa issues, so I planned a honeymoon in Europe 1 month after my wedding. That way I could see my parents, show them the pics, get to be at home for Chritmas and at the same time marry in a beautiful location among people that care about us and won't complain that "it's too expensive, too far bla, bla , bla" Remember - People who care will find a way to be there and make it a priority, even if they have to collect the money for a whole year...people who complain and show dissatisfaction should not be there anyway.
