Thanks so much! I am definitely not the DIY-er in my family, I leave that to my mom and sister, but it was fun making those. You can do this and you will be surprised by how much you enjoy making things for your wedding and your guests to enjoy. Good luck!

You have the right idea! We tried to battle it out with Palace on the principle that they should have directly notified those that booked their weddings, instead of us having to hear about it online. We have been assured time and again that the service and restaurants will remain the same and the only difference will be in the look of the lobby and guest rooms. Don't stress about it, I know your wedding will be beautiful! Can't wait to see how it turns out!Originally Posted by Lindy S
We are having are wedding in February. At this point we are just going to go ahead and have it at Cancun Palace or Hard Rock Cancun...whatever it is called at the time. We already have many people who have booked, so I don't know what esle to do. I'm hoping the resort isn't half renovated to the new HRH and half of it still being older. I guess there is probably know way to find this info out for sure. I am just going to hope for the best, b/c I am tired of stressing about it!

Hi Everyone!
After disappearing for almost two months, I'm baaacckkk! I started grad school in September, and I have had to step away from wedding planning for a while, with all the reading and studying I hardly have time to sleep! Thank goodness, I was off for the majority of this year and had time to do a ton of wedding projects before the start of the academic quarter. I've taken some time to catch up on the thread, Congrats to all of the newbies and great job on all of your projects! So far, I've:
- bought my dress (Yay!)
- finished and mailed DIY passport invites
- fought with Palace on the conversion of the Cancun Palace to the Hard Rock..they have less than stellar customer service
- taken engagement pics
- completed welcome bags
- ...and taken midterms
As soon as my schedule frees up a little more, I will share pics of everything.
Continued Happy Planning!

Hi All!
We finally mailed out our invitations for our Cancun Palace/ Hard Rock Cancun wedding yesterday! Although we are disappointed that the resort is changing names and Palace has not handled this in the best manner, we are moving forward.
Thank you to Steph (Skp 1) for the inspiration, answering my silly questions and helping me to understand the layout. Also KCB2011 for inspiring me to stamp the passport covers. We used paperandmore.com 81lb paper in Fairway green and Champagne with the envelopes in Purple Punch. We bought the custom stamps from Simon Stamps. After attempting to staple, I opted to sew the pages together (my first adventure in sewing!) If anyone has questions on materials, I will be more than happy to share. Also, if any one is looking for custom stamps, I have two that I can sell for the covers. Just wanted to share. Happy Planning!

Lindy,
What are you going to do about the rebranding? I am concerned about this as well. Our group does not include Hard Rock type of people and I just don't know what to do.

I just plan on meeting him in the lobby. I think that's what most other brides do.

Congratulations! We have not even begun to discuss AHR. A Friday night event sounds nice, hopefully the weather will have broken by then. If we decide to do an AHR, it will only be for my FI family because all of my family lives in Texas and my friends are all across the country. Good luck and happy planning! Keep us up to date as your plans progress.Originally Posted by acireta

Are any of you guys planning an AHR yet? We're on the hunt for a venue. Brookfield Zoo ended up being out of our price range, but I'm meeting with the manager of events at Cantigny (in Wheaton) on Wednesday to discuss a Friday night event a few weeks after we get back. I'm calling it an anniversary party to control costs. It's amazing how prices double when you drop the W-word.

Hi! I'm actually getting married at the Cancun Palace, but did consider BP & MP. We chose Cancun Palace because it was smaller than Moon (for less mobile guests) while still having the resort feel; we felt that the Beach palace was so small it may feel like a hotel instead. I have a PDF of the locations mentioned, PM me your email address and I will send it to you. I agree with you on the gazebo, I would much rather get married in the shade, but I left the final decision to my FI.
Hi Essential,
I have a personal question for you. Why did you decide to get married at the Beach Palace over, Moon or Cancun? I visited the Beach palace two years ago and I thought it was beautiful but I was staying at the Sun Palace. I adored the Sun Palace, but since I want my kids to come I'm thinking of staying at the Beach Palace but having the ceremony at Moon since they have the Horse and Carriage. I am totally torn now with the ambiance of Dreams Cancun so I really need to make my mind up if I am to plan a wedding for April 2012.
I am trying to locate the infinity Terrance that Gisselle spoke of online but no luck. I love the beach scenary but have no desire to get married on the beach. A nice Gaezbo is more my style lol.
Any help or advise or pictures!!!! ANYONE...LOL

Don't be discouraged, it does happen. Try a workout that you have not done before and you may see improvement. Most importantly be patient, you will probably see a significant weight loss when your power through the plateau.

You look amazing! Seeing everyone in their dresses makes me excited!

I would agree with you about the music, I want people to party!!! I am using a mix of roses and orchids, I'm just obsessed with them; but we are lining the aisle chairs with paper lanterns instead of flowers.

UPDATE UPDATE
OK Ladies, Here' s an update after my post this morning. First let me say that this was an awesome, amazing, blessing and cherished day. My grandmother(mom) who raised me from birth got a chance to see her "youngest baby" try on a wedding dress and as she say "in her right mind" This day meant the world to the both of us. So meeting the designer in my eyes was icing on the cake! Although my mom (this is what I have always called my grandmom) is not a crier, she gives this look of approval or disapproval that goes right through you. Today was the look of approval all the way when it came to the dress with only 1 "not so much" regarding a belt which I did not go with. Today was the day, that I even had a tear flowing coupled with smiles (my eyes are very chinkie (wrong spelling) and even close when I laugh to hard) you'll see this.
Lazaro is such a sweetheart an I am humbled to have met the man that will design MY DRESS. How freaking awesome is that? I tell you, having the last appt at 4 (by my design) was great, as we shut the Bridal Garden in Marlton, NJ with MaryEllen leading the way down. We were the only people in there after 3:45p and what a grand feeling this is. The first kicker was when I pulled out my Christian Louboutin and MaryEllen (my consultant) said "Oh My God" I gotta show them. So out went one shoe LOL. The dress for my family was dynamite but the shoe for the whole Bridal Garden was the focus. Lazaro said "Oh I gotta see her walk in these, all 5 inches" My mom said "honey this is like putting on underwear to her, its natural" the whole place fell out laughing as I strut my stuff across the floor. Okay enough talking
Please note that these are my iPhone pics that do not have a flash. The Style of dress is Lazaro 3050 to which I purchased in a light ivory. The cost with the belt after a discount was $4800 I saved a total of $1500.

Hi! I'm getting married there on April 28, 2012. I decided to hire an outside DJ and photographer. Even though your wedding is before mine, I can share any information if you would like. Also, in the resort reviews section there are brides that posed on the Cancun Palace and have been great help to me thus far.
Let me know if I can provide any assistance.

Great job! The passports look amazing, you should be proud.
