  1. I was wondering this for the cermony, I got my 75 nights finally so I will have free private functions and the person number doesnt matter. BUT.... Although ill be getting married on the beach and there is deffinatley pleanty of room, im still concerned that they are going to charge me per chair over 35. I also heard that they make you pay for the full price of the wedding and private functions FIRST and then REFUND you a month later.... I dont know! Im so confused! A little over 70 days out and still dont have a budget OR the cocktail hour/dinner area reserved athough I requested them at about 100 days out. I called to day to speak to the manager and of course was sent to voice mail. Im really trying to be patient but come on..... a budget would be nice.
  2. Are they making you pay for every chair over the 35 that you were probably quoted in the wedding package? I heard that they were making people pay 6-7 bucks a chair for every person over 35??
  3. Also Juan Navarro is an amazing photographer. His prices are great too!
  4. She is just the girl from FL that I have been in slight contact with. I get to actually speak to someone tomorrow at 1:30! That is exciting, so hopefully we can actually get a WC to speak to! I looked at smile market, which is their in house, and Im not impressed with their work at all. They are not creative or artistic at all with the photos. I could take just as nice of pictures as they can. I guess im just really picky about my pics. I will be 100% devistated if i have to use their in house photographer. Thanks for the feedback. I think Smile Market is their inhouse photog now (I'm not sure) but from what it looks like they have good reviews compared to whoever they used before but again I'm not sure.
  5. Look at what my contact said to me today in regards to photography: I am unable to provide you with our vendor information due to the limitation we have within our contracts. We have binding contracts with all of our preferred service providers which do not allow us to go outside the contracts to other vendors. Any information on pricing and services needed may be discuss with me. If you have a specific provider they would have to be a paying guest with a minimum 3 nights at the resort in order for them to be allowed to provide the service for your wedding. This is the only way any professional photographer, DJ etc. other than our vendor, would be allowed to photograph or perform any other services for your wedding. Their photographer SUCKS! What should I do? I know you girls are saying buy a night, which I can, but here, she is saying 3??
  6. Palace Resorts. There is not very much info on them at all.
  7. Awwww honey I’m sorry you are having a hard time! First let me say from experience, that once you move, things ALWAYS change with friendships. (I had three different high schools and have moved a ton since then) They either get stronger or cease to exist anymore. While they were great friends to you then, doesn’t mean that you have to be friends now or forever. Unfortunately people change and we drift apart. It doesn’t sound like they are putting in any effort to be a friend to you at all, so I say just let it go and enjoy the people that you KNOW care about you NOW. Personally I wouldn’t invite them to my events. Who cares if they see you as the bad guy, apparently they are talking crap anyway, so who cares. We know better! My FI has a lifelong friend who WAS supposed to be in the wedding, and not only is he not coming any more, they aren’t friends any more. It was something of a similar story as yours. For months he was dwelling on it and finally he has come to the conclusion that it’s not worth it. Enjoy your time sweets!!! Focus on the things that matter! Like how beautiful you will look on your wedding day! xoxo Quote: Originally Posted by Jamie5280 Thanks Ladies! I cried a lot last night! 8. Oh girls~ you are so great! I have been so sad allll day long. Looking at pictures from smile market and being so unhappy... And they arent even my pictures. I will find out for sure about getting him a night! Just curious, I know mine will be different, but what how much is ONE night running for you? I do get to actually speak to someone on the 11th from the resort!!! We are at almost 4 months exactly till our wedding!! So excited!
  9. OMG girls, I am so sad right now! I may start crying!!! My contact for the Palace Resorts said that as of 2012 NO OUTSIDE VENDORS are allowed!! What am I going to do? I am not impressed one bit with "smile photography" who is the vendor through the resort. I had my heart set on Juan Navarro! This seriously changes everything. Photos are SO important to me and now they are saying we don't even have a choice, we have to use theirs? OH MY!!!! Have any of you heard different??
  10. Well I haven’t gone yet. I get married there in May... SO... What I’m personally doing is sending people with stuff. Each of my girls are going to take their bouquets, and I will probably give a few things to each person to take with them so that I don’t have to take it all. I have 8 sets of 3 for centerpieces, so I’m going to have my in-laws take some and my sister in law etc. The chair bows don’t take up too much space and I’m only buying runners for the tables, so that won’t take too much space either. ( after I found out how much linens were going to be from the resort I changed a few things) As far as how many tables you will need. They either do round tables that fit 8 or square tables that fit 10. I’m going to have about 40 people there so technically I only need 5 or 6 centerpieces but i got 8 so that I had room to play with them. maybe decorate the cake table or what if one breaks or whatever. So I played it safe. I am also going to order probably 8 table runners as well. Again just to be on the safe side. I do think it would be cheaper to pay for extra baggage than to spend the money at the resort. The prices there are CRAZY! This is just my personal opinion though. If you want to look at linens I suggest http://www.weddinglinensdirect.com/ As far as the website is concerned for deco cancun... I know! I feel you there. Its not a very good site to get info off of and there are no prices. I will give you this girls email address who helped me out. [email protected]. She was able to send me some info and give me an estimate on how much my stuff would cost me. I was not THAT impressed with the items that she sent me, but after doing much research I feel better knowing that if you are able to tell her and show her with pictures what you want, they most likely can do it for you. Hopefully this helped a little! Let me know if you need anythign else!
  11. Ok Ladies... Ill tell you what I know so far. I'm getting married there May 4th. so I feel your pain with all these unanswered questions. As far as the outside vendors, you can bring them in, but they will have to have the daily pass. I'm not sure how that works out exactly. I know some other girls have had their flowers brought in by a florist that is from Cancun and since they just needed to be dropped off, they didn't have to get the day pas. If you chose your own photographer, like I have, you will have to get them a day pass as well. My photographer is Juan Navarro. I personally was not impressed with the smile market photographers. I'm also getting my make up done by and outside vendor and someone told me to get them just a kids pass since they wont be there all day, they will only be there to do my hair and make up and then leave. I just found out that you can bring your own linens and centerpieces etc. Please remember when booking the packages for the ceremony, that you realize that is all you get. Its for the ceremony ONLY. None of the decorations or chair bows or anything will carry over to the dinner or cocktail hour. Since I found that out, I decided to just do the complementary package and add to that. Plus if you bring your own linens and such i can guarantee that it will be cheaper than getting a package. they will charge you a small set up fee when you bring your own items, but its reasonable. If you don't want to bring your own stuff, they do have someone that will bring everything in for you. I think its called Zuniga or something like that. however.... i was getting charged over $900 for the linens and chair bows. and I'm talking for only 40 people. Its really hard when you cant really talk to anyone until 3 months previous, but i have done a TON of research, i have been in touch with someone from the resort and this sight has been such a help! Hope that helped at least a little bit. Let me know if you have any other questions i might be able to answer. When i get back I'm going to do a full review with pics and everything! CANT WAIT!
  12. Oh my!! These are beautiful and my FI loves them!! Will you email me the contact info?? I would love to order my invites from your people!
  13. I'm getting all of my flowers including my hair flower from bloombridal.com They have great prices and are great to work with! I'm having orchids in my hair as well. they are able to add rhinestone middles to them as well. I don’t have my hair flowers yet, but will post them when I get my order in March. Here is a picture of my bouquet so that you can see how nice their flowers are. Good luck with everything!
  14. Awwwww Jamie5280!! Let me tell you something!! The reason I decided to buy the Adorae is because of the look on your face that you have in your dress!!! I was like, I want that feeling!! And that is the feeling that I had when I origioanlly tried on this dress! So my hunt began for my second and final dress!!! SSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.... A BIG THANK YOU!!!! And a HUG!!! You look AWESOME in your dress!!! Hoping I look that great when mine fits!! Thanks again for sharing!!!
  15. After months of debating and NOT being able to find my size in the aqua shoes I have been hunting down, I have found these! I think they will be great and comfy. Cant go wrong with open toed sling backs for hot summer Mexican nights!! I cant wait to get them! Shipping was confirmed yesterday. They have these shoes in pink too! Here is the link if you are interested in them! Good luck girls! http://www.wayfair.com/Allure-Bridals-Womens-Roxy-Sandal-ROXY-IV-BVJ1023.html?refid=EH&mmid=59500356&csnid=875B9334-EB5E-4ACC-8AF0-7098717F9EEA
  16. Ok Girls~ Here I am again! I originally posted a few months back with my first dress. Yes, Yes that's right, I said FIRST dress. I had gotten the dress and loved the top of it but really wanted to change the bottom. After months of contemplating it, I decided to buy a second dress. A Maggie Sottero dress that I had tried on months and months ago. I was ALWAYS thinking about that dress. I found the Maggie on EBay that was gently used and a great price. I just got it this weekend and tried it on. Its a bit big for me and I defiantly need some help with some sown in cups to boost my appearance, but once that is complete I know it will be perfect!! If you are that bride that isn't sure about her dress, I say do what you can to get the dress you WANT! Even if that means that it wont be brand new. Its worth it!! You want to look at the pictures for the rest of your life and say WOW look at my dress!! Good luck with everything girls!! This was the first dress AND HERE IS MY MAGGIE
  17. LOL my nails! good thing I had JUST gotten them done! It was all a part of my plan! LOL Thank you! Have a GREAT day!
  18. I know thats what I thought about our rings too! Sooo similar! Have a great day!
  19. I love it with the belt, but i do think it needs to be much higher, maybe right below your bust line. it should be tight. The belt totaly makes the dress pop in my opinion.
  20. Here are our rings. I origionally had a ring that was similar to my engagement ring, but got an upgrade about a month ago that has the wedding band with it. I LOVE my new ring sooo much! His ring is white gold with 3 yellow gold inlays. He had NEVER put a ring on before and this was the FIRST one that he put on and he love it! Im so happy he got diamonds too! Cant wait to get married in MAY! Cancun Palace here we come!!
