  1. Great question! I would like to know the same thing....where can you get keycard holders?
  2. Thanks so much, Chelsea!! Great idea about the jewelry "marrying" the looks. I will definitely be considering that! I am about to look at your pics...exciting! Thanks again for the advice!
  3. I love the dress! And I love the idea of doing the sweetheart neckline. I did that to my dress for my 1st wedding....years ago. You will love it! Definitely trash your dress! If you aren't going to try and sell it, what do you have to lose?? The pictures will be worth it!!
  4. I am having a very hard time staying focused, Subbi! That is why I am so far behind! Haha! But, I think I am doing less than most brides. No place cards, no centerpieces, no fuss. I know it may be lame, but I wanted to enjoy the process and I tend to get overly stressed over details....so I decided to ignore them altogether.....lol. I guess I decided, what is more beautiful than the beach?? But, sometimes when I look at the discussions on these forums I get a little worried I may have been a little too laid back in my decisions. Oh well, it will be great regardless!! I did finally get my invitations ordered, and I am very happy with them. So that is one more thing done!
  5. Congrats, everyone! We originally wanted to get married on 11-11-11, but found out my sister is pregnant and due on 11-11-11. She and her husband were married on 7-7-07, and my parents on 7-7-77....haha! Since she is preggers, we moved our date a month earlier, and are now getting married on 9-10-11 at the Grand Palladium in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Good luck to everyone!!
  6. Hello Fellow September Brides! For some reason, I am terrible at navigation this forum, and just found this post. I am getting married Sept 10, 2011 at the Grand Palladium Resort in Luceau (Montego Bay), Jamaica! We are SOOOO excited! Girls, I am so far behind, it is scary!! Ordering invitations on Monday, and need to get them out ASAP. We expect to have 25 to 30 guests. My fiance's family is from Australia, so we will have about 10 Aussie's in attendance...shoud be fun!! I have my dress....it's the Pronovia's Galia. My daughter (5 years old) is wearing an empire tutu dress made by Juju's Tutus out of Phoenix (look it up on Etsy if you are interested...she designs such cute things for little girls). The colors for the wedding are red and teal/ turquoise color. Kind of hard to describe, but it looks really pretty together. So, here is my dilema, my sister is pregnant and will be 8 months along at my wedding. She is the maid of honor. My other bridesmaid (I only have 2), was also pregnant, but unfortunately had a miscarriage. She is starting to try again now. When they were both pregnant, I was going to have them both wear a long maternity cotton stretchy flowy day dress for the wedding...not actual "bridesmaid dresses". But, now I don't know what to do and I feel like I need to decide something quickly. The wedding is less than 4 months away! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Glad to find you ladies! Look foward to chatting futher! Good luck to everyone!
  7. I emailed customer support at studio suits and they replied within 24 hours asking when we need the suit by. I said we would like to have it by June 1st and they said they replied that they would do their very best to make that happen. So far, a good experience. I will keep you all posted!
  8. Hi CanadianGirl, I am going with the resort photographer, and I am actually very excited about using them! They have been extremely responsive and helpful, and Judine has called me several times instead of emailing back. She has even helped me with things involving wedding planning support with the resort. I know they have gotten a couple of bad reviews on this site, but so has the Grand Palladium. True Colours (resort photographer) has added new/ recent photos (from Grand Palladium weddings) to their website and blog, and I love them! I like the idea that they work at the resort on a regular basis, so I they know the staff well and are accustomed to working together. Also, I like that they will know where all the best spots for pictures are and the best lighting, etc. They have also thrown in a few freebies in addition to the Island Deluxe package we decided to go with. Check out their blog and website pictures: www.truecolorsphotos.com http://jamaicaweddingphotographer.blogspot.com/ As far as the cake, I am pretty sure that the cake they provide has flowers on it, but you can definitely pay extra for more flowers. Or, you can even bring something from home to have added to your cake. In one of the albums on the True Colours site (James & Jamie I believe) they had brought cake toppers from home. Hope this information helps!
  9. Hi Ladies, I have decided to go with True Colours. They have updated/ recent pictures on their website that are GREAT! And they have been very responsive to every question/ email I have sent. I will be sure to post pictures after the wedding, but you should all check out their blog and their website with the updated pictures if you are still on the fence. www.truecolorsphotos.com http://jamaicaweddingphotographer.blogspot.com/
  10. Welcome CanadianGirl and Congratulations! I am getting married on Sept 10 at the GPLH. The Ruby/ Pearl packages are the old packages...I'm sure you can still get them, but I think the new packages are better. I am going with the Waves of Love as well. I have been dealing with Simone, my wedding coordinator, since March, and she has been very helpful!! She is always prompt and thorough in replying to my emails. It seems like most of the planning is done after you arrive, but your WC should be able to help you get a few details in order before then. Let me know if you have any specific questions and I will be happy to help! Good luck!
  11. Fellow Brides, We ordered a suit for my fiance a couple of weeks ago. Any ideas on when we should expect to receive it? Did you all receive an email when the suit shipped? Thanks, ladies! Heather
  12. So, so excited to read your review, Melly! Sounds like you had an amazing wedding and trip! Congrats!!
  13. That is GREAT news! So, I am assuming you are definitely going to have your makeup done at the resort?? I think I will plan to do it as well. Hopefully you can send some pics of your beautiful face on your big day!
  14. Hello Ladies, Congrats to you both on your upcoming weddings! I am getting married at the GPR/ LH as well. Our wedding will be 9-10-11, so I can't wait to hear all about your weddings! I am probably going to go with TrueColours (the resort photographer), but one of my wedding guests also does photography as a hobby, so she will be my 2nd/ back-up photographer. I usually like snapshots better than posed shots anyways, so I feel confident we will get plenty of pics we love. Keep me posted on who you decide to go with! Good luck with everything!
  15. Beachbridein11, keep me posted on the review. I can't wait to hear your review and see your pictures!!
  16. Has anyone seen pics/ reviews for the hair and make-up artists at GPR? I'm thinking I will do my own, but it would be nice to be pampered if I knew I would like the result.....
  17. Shanna, Congratulations to you!! Where did you get married? Any chance you would post pictures of your make-up? Thanks so much!
  18. misspaige, I hope had the perfect wedding and trip to Jamaica. My FI and I are getting married at the GP/ GPLH on Sept 10, 2011. I would love to hear how things went. Did you have your hair done by the resort, or did you do it yourself? Did you see anyone who had their make-up done at the spa....any thoughts? Also, I would love to see your welcome packets. I will pm you with my email address if you do not mind sending it. Thanks and Congratulations!!

  21. Thanks for sharing, BeachBridein11! Sounds like you are going to have an amazing wedding day! Can't wait to hear more! Anyone out there have any experience with True Colors Photography?
  22. Yaker33, glad to know I am not the only one with that problem...haha! We actually decided to book lunch at one of the buffet restaurants for our group following our ceremony. Then, we will ask everyone to go get in their bathing suits and be ready to enjoy a day of fun in the sun. We will have about 30 people in our wedding, so I felt like that would be too many people to try and do a group activity together. My fiance actually proposed to me on the beach in the Bahamas and had bought me a white swimsuit to wear that day. So, I am saving that suit until our wedding day. We are also doing a beach BBQ that night with our guests, but I believe ours is private....at least she hasn't mentioned otherwise....I should probably look into that! haha! We are renting the resorts sounds system and microphone for 4 hours, so we will be having a reception on the beach that evening from 6 to 10. We will do all toasts, speeches, and cake cutting that night. BeachBridein11, I have not visited that site, so that is great advice! Thank you! I can't wait to hear what you think after your big day...which is just around the corner!! yay!!! What are you ladies doing for ceremony music? I really like the idea of the steel drums, but it seems so pricey for a ceremony that will not last longer than 20 minutes. Also, who are you using for photography? Thanks, ladies! Congrats to you both! Heather
