  1. Oh nice! I can't wait to go - im so excited! i've been engaged since January and am starting to get anxious. But ya- i also want to be confident when I go - so I'm going to drop some more weight before then. Down 10lbs - need to be down 30 more..fingers crossed. Thankfully I have tonnes of time - wedding isnt for another 18 months. Cameo and Cufflinks will defo be one of my first stops! i have lots of pictures saved of what i like but who know what i'll actually look good in when I finally go! Gotta keep an open mind i suppose!
  2. Thanks for posting some cake pics ladies! Its still not entirely what I'm looking for - but better than I expected. I may see if I can have one done outside the resort and brought in
  3. Lookin to see if any other brides have started or are thinking of starting the new Dukan Diet I started just over a week ago and lost 9.4lbs during the Attack Phase - now a few days into the cruise phase! Can't believe how much I missed my veggies! Anyway - if anyone out there wants to throw input on their Dukan experience - would love to hear from you!
  4. Yay! So exciting for you! I haven't even started trying any on yet-- wanna lose weight first! ha ha where did you buy from? whats it look like?
  5. Wow - not going to lie - those 3 cakes are extremely disappointing Any past brides that can post pics of theirs? Maybe they're not as bad as they seem? Or has anyone felt the same way and gotten one from outside the resort?
  6. Does anyone have the file for what the resort offers for wedding cakes? Im pretty sure I'll design my own but just wanted to see what they had to offer if you could send to me that would be great! thanks! [email protected]
  7. This is what I want - except the orange ribbon and swirlies are replaced with dark eggplant color and monogram on top of the cake and green cymbidium orchids cascading down the side!
  8. Awesome! Glad it worked out so well!
  9. Thanks Natalie! Great pics! I'll defo consider them too! how did you even come upon the photog from LA?
  10. Thank you! I'll check out his website too!
  11. Thank youuuu! I will be sure to check them out! Initially i was fine using Arrecife from the GBP - because I think their quality is good - but I think their packages are outrageous and they dont even include the reception! So ya- back to the drawing board. I have a photog picked for my TTD - i really want a local to do this - but as for the wedding day - its a matter of deciding to bring one from Calgary or pay for my TTD photog to book as a 'guest' at the resort. Ugh
  12. Hiya ladies - just wondering if any of you Calgary Brides (past/present/future) - are bringing your own photographer from Calgary? My resort is extremely restrictive with bringing an outside photographer in - either I have to use theirs or bring my own (aka they're a guest at my wedding) I'm starting to considering bringing my own as I think part of the photography experience for your wedding day is the photographer getting to know you as a couple - so they can figure out what kind of shots to do. Not only that - our engagement pictures didn't turn out very good - so if we bring our photog down from Calgary - we could probably incorporate some engagement shots when we arrive in Mexico Also - found out the resort photog wants like $2800 for only 160 photos!! I feel thats a bit of a rip off! I haven't met with any Calgary photographers yet - but I'm betting for that amount of money I will get a lot more than 160 photos!
  13. Thanks - that helps a bit - I was really hoping to have poolside- but even if its just the dance and cake I'm ok with that there's no way i'll have 50 people so the private deal on the beach/pool wont' be happening
  14. Awe - so does this mean you can't have your reception (dinner, cake, speeches, 1st dance) by the poolside unless there's 50 people?? If so -that sucks - I didn't think you needed a minimum about of people if you're paying per head. So does that only leave the restaurants for a reception? Sorry- My definition of wedding reception is the whole thing from dinner - to 1st dance... Anything after that i consider the 'After-party'
  15. Good call - ya - generally you dont get pro prints of cutting the cake or speeches! We'll see what the budget allows - id rather throw that money towards hair and makeup! esp now that i found someone who does the airbrushing makeup! yay!
  16. Ya- I suppose this is true - maybe I'll consider having them there for the cake and thats it...we'll see Thanks!
  17. Hi Everyone - just looking at the photo packages from Arrecife - and a lil confused. It says all wedding packages include the bride getting ready, ceremony, and photo session at beach after the ceremony then it goes into details about how many photos in each package but it doesnt say anything about photos of the reception do they not do this?
  18. Sounds good to me - I never exchange down there anyway - I usually just bring US cash and spend it via tips or shopping - so if they still accept it that way - all is good. Either way its fine for us - as our CAD is above par with the US
