  1. hey just wanted to let all you ladies know, for those of you who are still working on your OOT bags i was just on the bath and body works website and they have the island scented travel size anti bacterial sanitizer on for 5 for $5, and the mini scented candles on for 3 for $5(it was the american one tho so it was a little more for the shipping $21 i think, maybe duty once it arrives but who knows better price than they've ever had in the store here). i got 25 of each thing and with shipping and everything it only cost me $85!! which i thought was pretty good (works out to about $1.70 per item, which in store the sanitizer is $2 and the candles are $3.50 each) before i checked out i also searched the web for a promo code and found this one s113647 which was for 20% off your whole order. so just thought i'd post and maybe it'll help some of you out!
  2. love that!! i just ordered mine today from the same place!!! glad your happy with them, makes me even more excited that i got them!!!! and yes they are a really great price!
  3. thansk so much for posting the wordsearch and soduko website websites!! will make a great addition to my OOT bags!!!
  4. hey there, thanks so much for the post.... unfortunately i'm unable to open these files. if you are willing to email them to me that would be great. [email protected]. i'd really like to see your ideas! thanks CHAPSTICK.doc DRINK GUIDE.ppt FIRST AID KIT.doc HAND SANITIZER.ppt keycardholder.ppt TOWEL TAGS.doc SURVIVAL_KIT[1].doc PLAYING CARD LABELS.doc
  5. hey again, yes i agree that the face clothes are a great idea as many people don't think to bring these and then they are not available once there, i've thought of the smaller stuff (lip balm etc) as well. i'm still quite a ways out (getting married in October) so i've got some time to figure it out! now what are peoples ideas of getting the stuff there?? i've heard of some mailing it there and leaving it up to them to put together, and others have just taken and paid for the extra luggage to get it all there when you go???
  6. hey there. we are also going with merrick cousley and yes we were told that there was a $200 travel fee, have also paid the 50% and that was included in the invoice, we are also going with the $1050 package ( i like the fact that you get a min. of 300 but if he takes 1000 on your day that's how many you get!!) when i talked to chandlyn about getting him in she did tell me that we had to pay the $75 for him to get in. we too are doing OOT bags and am sooo uncertain as to what we are putting in them. i deffinitely want to do a mug or larger cup, and we are also doing bamboo hand fans i found them at this site (blissweddingsmarket.com) they come in different sizes and colours and i think are quite cute and appropriate for a beach wedding! i've also read on different sites that i've looked at about getting personalized tumblers (that are pretty big) from somewhere on ebay... i haven't looked yet, but from the pics i've seen online they're pretty good lookin too! i too would be very interested in others ideas!!
  7. that's extremely worrisome!! it does make you think about wanting to double check everything, except the fact pretty much all the interaction i've had has been with chandlyn, so hopefully things will be all good!!! i have a question for anyone who has ever used vistaprint.....how do i get x amount of free pens without paying the $5 to ship each one??? i've heard of girls doing this, and i just seem to not be able to figure it out. any help would be great! thanks
  8. Mrs. Dow thanks so much for the advice! will definitely keep all that in mind for the rest of our planning!!!
  9. well that's exactly my thoughts. so i wanna know the real deal here, and what the heck we're supposed to do about it
  10. i know with the free package you don't have to put a deposit down.. but it's my understanding that if someone comes along and wants that day and that time, they can have it if they put down a deposit????(even though i've already booked and confirmed)
  11. question....we've decided to go with the free package after all (we were gonna go with the sunshine $1100) but now that it's a free package therefore there's no deposit to put down, how do you "secure" your wedding date and time?! like i have it all booked and ready to go, but i was under the impression that in order to keep it for just me i had to put money down. now that we're not is it free game for anyone and everyone that may want it?? thought i'd ask here first cause everyone usually seems to know the answers! what a great site!! and i too got my email back from the assistant planner (i emailed beverly, and the assistant wrote back, but hey, i only had to wait 3 days!!) so here's what i got out of them, hope some of it may help: 1 - as for table linens do the restaurants have them all ready on them that we would have our reception at? and do we need linens for say the signing of the register table? (do you have a table for that at the ceremony)? we are hoping to have our reception at Dolce Vita - what are the tables like in that room? (size shape, etc.?)We do offer white linen for both the ceremony decor and reception decor 2 - are you able to email us examples of the flowers (bouquet and bout) that are included in the package (we are probably going to be going with the sunshine package)? as well as examples of cakes? Please see attached 3 - we are thinking about renting the gazebo for after our reception. what is the time allowed for this? 8:45pm -10:45pm how much is it with a DJ? US500 without a DJ? US350.00and is there a speaker system if we don't rent the DJ for us to plug in an ipod? how much is it for the Bartender as well? US15 per person per hour 4 - what times are the dinner seatings for our reception? 6:00pm 5 - do we need to get a long form birth certificate or is our regular one good enough? there has been many questions about this and i just want to get it clarified? You may send the short ones. 6 - we are going to be using an outside photographer, is this allowed first of all? This is permitted and what is there as for a venders fee or day pass to get him into the resort for the day?You may purchase a pass at a cost of US75.00 7 - is there somewhere at the resort that we can steam our dress/outfits the day of the wedding? This service is available where the vendor comes to your room for this service. Costing starts at US90 upwards 8 - are there any facility restrictions at the ceremony or reception site as to decorating (us doing a little of it on our own)? You may do your own decorating. and what time would we be allowed to go down to the gazebo to start that? This will depend as to whether or not there is another wedding before yours on that day 9 - we have written our own script for the ceremony - is the officiant ok with that? Please forward by email so that he can confirm and who is the officiant that you guys use? It will be Rev Owen Watson 10 - how long is the ceremony usually from start to end of toast, etc? We permit hour and a half and what is the order of the ceremony? Procession, welcome, declaration of intent, exchange of vows, exchange of rings, pronouncement, champagne toast, cake cutting, dances, photos. 11 - can we save the cutting of the cake until the dinner? Yes you may 12 - can we save the first dance, etc. until the dance if we so chose to rent out the gazebo instead of having it right after the ceremony?Yes you may 13 - is there any way to do a live webcast of the ceremony? This can be arranged. Please contact Oneil Rumble at 1-876-373-6485 14 - what about people with limitations (wheelchairs and walkers etc.)? is there anywhere in the area of the resort that would supply oxygen for my grandfather if he choses to come? he has to be on oygen most of the day?We do not have this facilities at the hotel. You may however contact the hotel nurse so that she can advise you of the nearest hospital at 1-876-973-7000 Extension 55027
  12. we are getting married on a tuesday too, is the beach party down there year round??? and what/when are you going to be doing your first dance etc?? because if we don't rent the gazebo what are our options for this (without having to do it right after the ceremony.... i don't like that idea)???
  13. alright, so i have a bit of a beef with these "extra" costs. we are considering renting the gazebo for the night dance thing (only gonna have a bout 30 guests so trying to decide if worth it) but in order to rent it and have the bartender down there its $20pp PER HOUR. so for the 2 hrs we'd be there that's $1200 (for booze) AT AN ALL INCLUSIVE RESORT!!!!! others thoughts on this because that really disturbes me!! i don't really know what to do anymore. do we still rent it and just not have the bartender down there?! i have no idea what to do now......
  14. well i emailed beverly 2 days ago a bunch of my questions and got an email back THE NEXT DAY.... LOL but to find out it only said "thanks for the email, please allow me some time to respond shortly"!!! atleast it's better than nothing. but i got so excited when i saw she had written back already! oh well i'm sure i can wait for her reply!! and going back to all the little extra costs that everyone's been talking about. what has everyone learned so far that is going to be extra?? so far i haven't had anything, so i'm wondering what i may be missing
  15. yes i too love the fact that you hire him for the day!!! and his prices for what you get in the packages are no comparison to the rest!! hes hands down an all around great deal!!
  16. hey there! for my photgrapher i am using merrick cousley who's name i found on here. is website is www.merrickcousley.com. i personally LOVE his work and his prices are fantastic!! he does have a $200 travel fee becuase he comes form kingston jamaica. and as for our quote we are using sears travel as our TA and the group quote was through air canada (the only catch was that everyone that booked with that price had to be paid in full by april 30th, so i think we are gonna pass on that .... i know sounds awful.....but right now there's a lot of our family that needs more time than that, and we were told too that we could get it cheaper if we wait a bit.. hope the rest of your planning goes well!
  17. hey there!! well that's exciting you are the first person on here that's getting married the same time as me (that i've noticed anyways!) i'm flying out of toronto on Oct. 22. and yes i'm starting to get moer and more excited because things are starting to come together. from outfits to booking our trip and everything, but yes still very stressed, more so about the things that we're doing here. we are having a "brunch" instead of a buck and doe (neither of us are really buck and doe people) and then the reception when we get home. that's what's stressing me out the most! we got our group quote the other day for our trip and with all taxes included it is only $1213pp i was pretty excited about that too!! we'll have to keep in contact on here, and meet up when we are down there! hope everyones planning is going good!! question - has anyone got a concrete answer on what birth certificate we have to use? do we need a long form or not? i can't seem to get anywhere on getting an answer to this question.
  18. hey everyone! thanks for all the information that keeps flowing on here! it's such a great help. Tris - as far as i know (at Dolce Vita - italian anyways) i'm sure the tables are rectangle from pics i've seen of it. for the grill i have no idea tho. i have a question for everyone tho, we have our wedding booked for 1pm...now if dinner is at 630, that's a whole lot of time in between almost too much time for pics and everything else. so should i try to change it until like 3? or is it fine the way it is, that way we have time if it's needed, and then downtime too to kinda freshen up? i'm quite undecided at the moment.....
  19. Akua420 - that's a great idea, we're thinking of the same thing, again depending on how many reply. and congrats, i can't even imagine how excited you must be getting leaving within the month!!! Espejo2be - let me know what info you come up with for the live "broadcast" of the wedding. i'm in the same situation with my grandpa and would love for him to be there, but it's really not possible, so that would be great if somehow it can be showed live (of coarse we could tape it and show it later, but that's just not the same).
