  1. Mrs. Marshall - congrats on booking!!! I can't believe that they have one day open in November. I'm booked for IRHS 11-6-11. I booked in October/November and even at that point there were few selections. I really didn't think there would be a wedding every day though... I guess I was very wrong! Anyway...good luck and happy planning!!
  2. Hi Jules, From everything I've read on the documents sent by Nicole, it looks like we are supposed to send them to her. Nicole Barnett Public Relations Department Wedding Coordinator Iberostar Rose Hall Suites Rose Hall Main Road, Montego Bay - Little River P.O. St. James Jamaica, W.I.
  3. Thank you so much for sharing!!! I'm not-so-patiently waiting 11-6-11 at the Suites, but I want it to be sooner especially after reading your details! Everything looks incredible! Good luck ~ you don't have too much time to wait now.
  4. On the information sent from Nicole, the DJ is $150 per hour nand 3 hours min if it is for Private Reception. I think the feedback on the forum has definitely gotten better regarding the resort DJ.
  5. Does anyone know about streaming the wedding live for those that won't be there? I don't know enough about this as to how difficult it may be, but when we were deciding on which resort, I remember reading that some resorts had this as part of the wedding package. I have had a few people ask me about it, but I haven't read anything about it anywhere and wasn't sure if anyone else had done it or checked into it. For me this would be mainly for my grandmother and close family that can't make it.
  6. Hi Maura - your pictures were beautiful!! What time did you have everything begin the day of the wedding.....wedding, cocktail party, dinner?
  7. They look great!!! I actually have that same luggage tag from a bridal shower a few years ago. It has held up great, and I always get compliments on it....so I'm sure your guests will love it! How many people are you expecting to attend (if you don't mind me asking)?
  8. Having the girls bring their own is such a good idea! I was definitely going to try to spread some things out, but I didn't think of specifically giving them their bouquets beforehand. Thanks!
  9. Congrats to all of the newly engaged and booked and planning!! I'm right there with you planning for a November 2011 DW at IRHS. My save the dates are at the printer, our trip is booked, wedding date confirmed....and now working on the OOT bags. I am having so much fun with them! We decided to do beach towels instead of bags. I know that the resort provides towels, but I thought it would be something that both guys and girls would use again and hopefully something to clue people in at the pool/beach that they are there for the same wedding (since they have matching towels). I'm still working on other things to go with the towels...so many ideas!! Anyone include postcards in their OOT bags? I thought it would be cool to have a postcard of the resort or something that you would find at the gift shop, but all I'm coming up with online are sites that let you make your own.
  10. Breeze, your planning thread was wonderful!!! I have been on the IRHS forum, but this was the first i really ventured out to look at planning threads. Wow - I was really missing out!! I'm in the process of doing my OOT bags/favors. Can I ask where you go the clear key card holders??
  11. I am torn between real and "real touch" b/c of price and because of traveling with them. I don't want to have too much that I am shipping or traveling with b/c that just seems like too much to worry about...and I'm doing a DW b/c of the 'less stress' factor. For those not using real, are you flying with them?
  12. MsSmithtobe - those are GREAT questions!! Hopefully you will get some replies on here b/c I am sure other people have the same questions or could, at least, benefit from hearing the answer! I'm awaiting my November 2011 wedding, so unfortunately I won't be of any help in answering. I do think I remember someone saying on this forum that they did multiple flavors for the cake.
  13. Hi Tara, Congrats on the engagement!! I would say your first step is to email Nicole at the Suites weddings.suites@iberostar.com.jm. Tell her when in January you are looking and ask what the available dates are. When she answers, at least in my case, she will send you a few files of information for pricing, locations, etc. My fiance and I decided on a travel agent first and then took care of booking our date through the TA, but you don't have to do it that way. I am early in my planning stage as my wedding isn't until 11-6-11 at the Suites, but from reading all of the info on this site, it sounds as if most of the details of the wedding aren't decided upon, or booked, until a few months from your wedding date. Good luck!!! Everyone on this site is so helpful that any question you would ask, someone could probably answer! Erin
  14. Starrysim - I just booked and had my date confirmed for 11-6-11 this past Wednesday. I wanted a wedding date sometime in the first two weeks of November and there were already quite a few dates taken. There were still some week days open, but it seems like it books fast! I wanted a Fri-Sat-Sun wedding so that people could travel for a long weekend. An email from Sat 11/20 from IRHS had open dates of 11/2 - 11/3, 11/7 - 11/10. There may be more open later in the month, but I was only asking about the first two weeks. I would guess that if you are flexible on dates there should be something open in November in the coming months. Good luck!!!
  15. Cam & Princess J, Thanks so much for the feedback! The timeline is very helpful!!
  16. Hi All! I've been reading this forum for about a month and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Erin, and I'm planning to get married in late 2011 at IRHS! I'm currently in the process of picking/securing my date. I can't wait - this makes it all so real! Anyway...I wanted to thank you all for the information on this forum!! I wanted to read as much as I could so that I didn't ask too many questions that have already been answered. I think at this point, I only have some of the older posts to catch up on. I do have two questions for anyone that would like to share their experience/opinion: 1. What time did/will your wedding ceremony take place? I ask because of the threat of rain most days in the late afternoon, and I would like to get married on the beach. I know they have a back up area in the case of rain, but I'm sure I'm not alone in hoping and praying that the back-up plan never has to be put in place. 2. How structured is the ceremony/cocktail party/reception compared to a "typical" wedding/reception? I'm a big of a planner and very organized - which some have called a control freak - so one of the many reasons my FI and I chose a DW was to NOT have to deal with all of the details and structure and timing of a "typical" wedding. Bring on the island time!! Again, thank you all so much for sharing your experiences and questions! It helped me choose IRHS and, of course, added to my excitement!!!
