  1. Thanks kellygrrrl!! I guess it would seem like a lot to others but I'm glad to be getting back to my normal routine of at least 2 vacations a year. :) We put that all on hold while we planned our wedding for 15 months and AHR for a total of 18 months. Back to normal finally!! DR in June and then back to Aventura in Nov for the 1 yr anniversary. This way I have something to always look forward to and a reason to stay in shape LOL. :smile159: (insanity jumping jacks hehe)

  2. Hello Insanity Ladies!!

So our vacation is now officially booked which means I now have a reason to workout harder and start Insanity again LOL.  We leave Jun 1 which means I have a little over 70 days to go.  I think I am going to start up this wknd and I don't plan on doing the recovery week this time.  I also plan on going to the gym to do full body once a week and bikram yoga once a week.  I really hope I can stick to it and I hope one doesn't cause me to be too sore for the other.  We shall see.

How is every one else doing??

  3. Not sure if any of you future brides plan on using turquoise/aqua as your colors but I just posted my sashes, runners and napkins for sale.  If any of you are interested let me know.

Also, I left about 5 or 6 vases with Cristina when I left and told her to let other brides use them so they should be there for you to use whether it be for welcome dinner, cocktail hour or wedding reception.  I bet you could find some use for them. ;)

  4. I am finally ready to get rid of the wedding linens that have been sitting around my house.  I would love for another bride to get some use out of them since they were barely used for our wedding down in Mexico.

    I have 8 runners, 24 napkins and 28 sashes.

Here is the cost breakdown for each item.

    Shipping was originally $12.77

I will sell all sashes, runners and napkins to you for $60.00 with the shipping included.  They should fit in a med/large flat rate box which will cost me somewhere between $10-$15.

If you want just the sashes or runners please PM me and let me know and we could possibly work something out.

  5. Hi ladies!!  Well I have some good news.  David and I are signing the paperwork today for our new house.  We get to build it from the ground up and make it our own custom house...flooring, cabinets, counters, etc.  We already picked out our dirt lot.  So much fun!!  What a great couple of months we have had...married in Nov, I got a promotion in Dec, David got offered a new job in Jan paying double, he started in Feb, we are buying a house in Mar, it will be ready at the end of May right after he finishes his Masters and then the first week of June we go on vacation!!  What an awesome year so far!!

Hope everyone else is doing great!!

  6. Great job kellygrrrl!!  Keep at it.  I like how your schedule looks.  Looks like a great mix up and gives you the right amount of both.

How can you say P90X yoga is light?? LOL!  I know its not like the others but damn that thing is loooong and exhausting too.

I seriously have not done a DVD in a good month or more.  So bad.  But we are about to book our June vacation so at the end of this month I plan on starting it up again and seeing how it goes.

**SIDE NOTE** - we are signing our sales contract for the house we bought!!!  Its a build-to-order home so we get to make it our own.  Just picked out our dirt lot Monday and are signing papers today to finalize it!!  WOOHOO we will be home owners very soon. woot.gif

    Mon - Insanity per calendar

Tues - P90X legs and back (includes lots of pullups in the P90X routine, can switch with Sat)

    Wed - Insanity per calendar

Thurs - light (either P90X Yoga or the Insanity Thurs plan)

Fri - Insanity (can switch with Sat)

Sat - P90X arms and shoulders (can switch with Fri or Tues)

as luck would have it, the routine sticks closely to the lean P90X plan, and I throw in the Insanity Abs here and there. I love it because it's focused on strength-building as well as fat-shredding cardio (last time I thought my muscles plateaued on an entirely Insanity plan). FI has started to join with me, and we even bought the results and recovery formula (mmm... tastes like an orange push-up pop!) and the P90X protein bars. I feel like a walking Beach Body advertisement, but I'm really happy with both programs in combination. also, I'm going to skip the recovery week (it killed my momentum last time) and just go straight into Insanity month 2. I don't know how I feel about 40 mins of cardio following that CRAZY warmup and stretch, but I figured I'd give it a shot and go back to month one if it was too much. I've already lost an inch or two around my waist, and all my work pants are loose : ) yay!! it's working!! : )

  7. You should have already signed your contract when you first decided to go with Palace.  That is usually handled by the Miami office so it wouldn't be your WC sending you that.  You may want to check with Yesenia to make sure you actually have a wedding booked. Yikes!

You would think since they do have so many weddings going thru their office it would be no problem to move us along the path timely.  I mean 38 days and nothing done, thats a little too close. It would be nice for the WC to at least send us the contract so we can pay for our wedding services and make sure we are booked for our wedding...

  8. I bought 10 table runners.  Usually the rectangular tables sit 3 or 4 people side by side.  We had 9 tables in our setup.

Your color wouldn't happen to be turquoise would it?  I'm selling the runners, sashes and napkins.  :)

also did the resort charge a fee for the set up since you brought your own decor?

    Thanks so much!!

  9. YAY another yogi!!  It is very expensive.  I try to buy the packages and they usually give you a discount but still....I've never paid so much for fitness before and it is hard to swallow.  I just found a new spot so its $20 for the first two weeks and I've already gone 3 times.  I'll have to cut back to probably once a week once I buy the package.  Maybe I'll just go to the sauna at the gym and do it in there to save $$ LOL!!!

I think my ideal routine would be bikram yoga, Insanity and full body routine once a week each and then ride my bike 2-3 days a week for 45-60 min.  I'll get there one day hehe

I can't wait to get back on the wagon!

  10. Awesome job on losing 25 lbs.  What a great accomplishment!!  Sounds like you are on the right track and doing everything the right way.  Great job.

Leaving in 2 wks??  That is so exciting!!

...gosh I need to get back into it.

I am OBSESSED.  We leave two weeks from today, so we're halfway through month 2.  It is TOUGH.  There are days I think the workout will never end! I'm not sure if the excercises in Month 2 are that much harder but the increased time per circuit, less breaks, and overall increased workout time (60 min!) are an intense mix!

I've lost 25 pounds since we got engaged through a mix of eating very clean, Insanity, and strength training.  In the last two months we've cut out all bread & pasta, no sugar, and no alcohol (okay, i've cheated here a few times).  We're eating a ton of veggies and really upping our protein.  I feel AWESOME.  I'm wearing jeans I haven't worn in five years, getting lots of compliments at work, and feel/look stronger than I ever have in my life.  All in all, I LOVE Insanity, and would strongly recommend it to any bride thinking of trying it.

  11. I never even met my officiant.  First time I saw him was when I was standing at the altar with David.  Never spoke to him after the ceremony either since we rushed off for pictures.  I would not have tipped him even if we did meet him.  The WC is a whole different story.  She did an amazing job and got the biggest tip out of everyone.  She did everything I asked, plus some, and everything went so well.

  12. Music!!

I brought a CD for the ceremony and they did a great job of playing all the songs we asked them to and at the right times.

We did the iPod for the reception and I would recommend that for small groups.  No need to pay the big bucks for a DJ.  Can't say anything about their musicians but it seems like everyone who uses one loves them.

And just like Jess, I worked with Yesenia for months and months and she was wonderful as well.  Looking back I am so happy with all my decisions and I wouldn't change a thing....ok well maybe a few....I'd stay longer and I'd spend more quality time with the friends and family that I rarely get to see instead of hanging out with the bridal party as much....I see them all the time LOL.  Oh and I wouldn't stress about the little crap - especially the OOT bags which the guests liked but really didn't appreciate the little stuff and hard work that went into them.

  13. Hi ladies!  I haven't gotten back into Insanity yet but I have been more active. Did Bikram yoga twice this week, rode my new bike to work twice this week and plan on hitting the gym this weekend.  Feels so good!!  I love Bikram yoga.  Any other yogis out there?

Jamie - I suggest taking it easy if you are burned out or feel unmotivated.  Maybe try something else you like for the next few weeks and then, like Kelly said, start about 65-70 days out from your wedding.  That will give you a few days to take off if needed within the 60 day program but knowing you will be in a bikini and your wedding dress should keep you pretty motivated during those few short weeks leading up to your wedding.

    Welcome new Insanity ladies!!

    Happy Friday!! pinkie.gif

  14. Love the idea....guess why....we got matching tats once we got back.  Special and meaningful to only us.  I should post a pic. =)

  15. Ditto to what Jess said.  With 99% of us past brides having excellent over-the-top experiences and weddings at ACP/ASP I don't think you should worry too much about the one bad experience we all just read.  It is very unfortunate but it seems to be that 1% of crazy and unexpected circumstances.  For those of you heading down in the future just do what you can to make the best of it.  Stay in contact with your WC and put your trust in them - they all do an excellent job.  The rest of your stay is up to you and you and your guests can all have a wonderful time whether your at ACP/ASP or any of the other amazing Palace Resorts.

  16. YAY ur back!!  So glad you had a great time and you PARTIED it up!!  Can't wait to see pics and read your review. =)

Craziness taking photos, but there reception I party party PARTIED, we had a blast on our private boat. BEST DECISION MADE! There crew was hilarious and very interactive.... It was absolutely wonderful!
I will finish and rave about my photos and my TTD on my planning thread: sad its all over

  17. Hi ladies!!  So I know this has nothing to do with Insanity but I wanted to fill you all in...

It is finally all over.  No more wedding stuff for me!!  A majority of me is very relieved but there is that little piece that will miss all the planning and creative DIY projects.  :)

We chose the yacht that had a similar style (modern, all white, kinda elegant) but it was still nothing compared to the gorgeous yachts that sat on each side of my yacht that evening when we were docked.  Everyone was asking "was that what you were supposed to get?" Mine would have been so close in size and style to those - 3 floors, all glass walls, white comfy couches, lots of room to lounge, high ceilings, etc.  I felt so confined and smushed in that little yacht.  None of us could raise our hands and David was close to hitting his head due to the ceilings being so low.  But with all the complaining out of the way we all did have a great time.  We did our entrance dance again and I got to participate this time...so fun!!  Everyone loved the food, appetizers, cake, candy buffet and they upgraded us to premium bar (due to the issue) which a few people really appreciated.  So it is done.  I can now officially sell or throw away all the wedding stuff I have.  Next job....finding a house and planning our 1 yr anniversary trip. :)

So back to Insanity...I haven't done it in weeks but once I actually start working out again I will try to stick to 1-2 DVDs a week to supplement my workout routine.  Anyone see the new vegan strawberry shakeology?  I think I might try it.  Will report back.

Can't wait to hear from Bride2012!!  Hope she had a blast!!

  18. Thanks sweety.  They are trying to offer what is available but neither of them can compare.  Our original one was three floors, glass windows all around and spiral staircases.  They are trying to offer one that looks like a river boat that belongs in the 1800s and the other is so small, short ceilings, feels very claustrophobic and does not have the elegant style we wanted.  We are going to view both today but I don't see how this could end up being ok.  We are going to get as much money and added perks as we can.  How can you do this to a bride a few days before her wedding???  There were 4 other brides that were having their real wedding this weekend on that yacht and I can't imagine how they feel.

But we will still have the reception some way some how and we will make the best of it with all the people who are coming to celebrate with us.

  19. HI ladies!!

I am not doing so good with the working out but I am at a point where I don't care LOL.  Reception is this Saturday and I am getting airbrushed tonight so the workouts are pretty much over at this point.

The reception seemed to be happening without any issues and everything was taken care of and then...

I get a call yesterday from the yacht company hosting our reception and was told the yacht I picked will not be available for our reception. The coast guard decided to take her out last week, punched holes in her hull and decided to test some things.  They will not be bringing her back in time for my reception.  I was told they did it without warning and her scheduled maintenance wasn't until Aug 2013. WTF!!  4 days before my "wedding" you're telling me this.  That was unbelievable!!  And of course the two yachts that are very similar to our original one are already booked so we are left with only two options that are not even comparable.  We are going down there today to take a look but I've seen both before and I am very unhappy with both of them.  They can't even come close in size or style to the beautiful yacht I had picked.  And I just feel everything is not going to go as planned.  We won't have room to do our dance performance and very little to no room for the projector and playing our wedding video.  We will have to figure out where the cake, candy buffet and DJ will be setup now and how we are going to setup the tables so it's not too crowded.  So that is what I am dealing with and all I want to do is sit on the couch and eat brownies and pizza all day but that isn't going to help LMAO!!

    But who cares about me.

Bride2012 how are you doing?  Leaving tomorrow!!  Woohoo.  I remember how excited and anxious I was.  You are going to have such a great time and you look absolutely amazing.  Go strut your stuff!!
