  1. Great job ladies!!  Its nice to see so many more brides doing Insanity still.  I love coming back to this thread to see all the support and motivation.  Keep up the great work ladies!!

I just celebrated my 1 yr anniversary 2 weeks ago and I was doing some Insanity before we went on vacation.  I love how I can always come back to it and know I am getting a great workout.  Unfortunately my body is unable to keep it up and I have been told I need to "take it easy".  Those words are not really in my vocabulary but with a busted hip, knee, foot and ankle I have decided to ride the bench for a while to let me body recover.  I plan on coming back to Insanity once I am at 100%.  I actually miss it if you can believe that. wink.gif

Keep it up ladies and don't beat yourself up if you have a hard time sticking to it during the holidays.  Just do what you can and don't get derailed or give up.

Thank you so much for sharing. I've been debating if I can DIY the invites and get them to turn out as good as yours! Also, thank you for sharing your wedding photos! You and your husband look amazing! Congrats again!

Thank you so much!!  We are just about to celebrate our 1 yr anniversary.  Can't believe its already been a year.

I would suggest you try to DIY.  There are many other brides on here willing to help if you need it.  It was so rewarding making them myself and I still have people talking about them to this day.   Would even consider doing them for you if you don't think you can do them yourself.  I really enjoyed making them and all the other DIY stuff for the OOT bags.

So my fiancée and I had a thought last night.

We have our reception dinner on the maracas inlet from 6-8pm.

Will it be really dark? Are we supposed to provide lighting?

    Thoughts from past brides???

Check with your WC about the lighting.  I believe it gets dark around 5-6ish in Oct cause it was getting dark around 5ish in Nov.  They should provide it for you if it is needed but your WC will know for sure.

Have a wonderful time and amazing wedding!!!

  4. Haha you girls made me laugh!!

I did try to start up a routine this week and I only ended up doing Pure Cardio one day.  But going to do another today and going to try at least 3 times a week starting next week.  I have our 1 yr anniversary coming up and we are heading back down to Mexico and I want to look as good as I did last year.  I am very active and workout all the time but I've noticed that this type of workout really is the only thing that gets the fat off and the legs leaner.  We just installed floor to ceiling mirrors in our gym this week which is nice and motivating but provides an honest view from any angle.  Now its easy to see what things are moving more than they should be haha.

Have a great weekend ladies and keep sweatin' it out!!

Hey Ty!  I don't have the template with me at this time.

But I did a quick search of "stamp template" and found this thread which had it.

    Hope this helps!

I know girl...but trust me you will be so happy once you do it.  Any way to do it in the morning?  Lunch break? Right after work?  Don't rely on FI to do it with you.  Do it for yourself and for that rockin body you will be showing off next year.  I know you have plenty of time until the wedding which makes it hard to be so motivated this early out but it would be easier to get it done now and maintain than waiting until the last minute and not knowing how your body will change.  That can lead to last minute dress alterations and possibly more stress and definitely exhaustion if you are doing Insanity everyday before you leave.  Try to stick with it or at least every other day for now and then once it gets closer you can start the whole program over again.

With that being said...I'm planning on using my iPod for my reception instead of hiring a DJ and just paying the $250 for the speaker system. So my question is...what is the best way to download all these songs? Do I go on iTunes and just pay for each and every song I want on my playlist? Or is there a free music sharing site you can go to that you can get these songs from? I'm clueless! huh.gif

I would suggest you have a friend who is very familiar with ipods/iphones/ipads help you out.  It is actually rare to find someone these days that is not familiar with one or the other.

You can use iTunes to help sync your music.  You import all your existing songs and then you can buy the new ones you want through iTunes.  You create different playlists from your song library, connect the ipod, tell it to sync and you're done.  That is a very brief explanation by the way.  Again I would recommend asking someone who uses theirs often.

    Good Luck!!

Question for you, ladies who have provided your own music:

We're hesitant to pay the $400 for a speaker and mic for our reception dinner... Have any of you ladies forgone that and provided your own speakers and ipod? I'm thinking of bringing a Bose portable speaker along. Will that be loud enough? We have 38 people total, and will be using it on the Cove Terrace (cocktails) and the Maracas Terrace (dinner).

Let me know your thoughts on this?

    Thanks!

    Abby,

    your favorite neurotic bride :)

Yes the ipod and bose speaker will be loud enough.  I used it on the Solarium Mundanca which is very big and everyone could hear it just fine.

    thanks for the flagging.

on-topic.  I am super interested in trying Insanity.  I tried P90X but could not get past all the equipment needed...too much effort.

do you need to get anything for INSANITY (rubber bands, special weights, door way pull up bar, etc)?

is in insane...? like do i need to be in super shape to do it...i am super lazy and hate working out but really need to lose about 18 lbs.

    Hi Tammy!!

Insanity is intense and requires commitment but it is so worth it once you start seeing the results.  I LOVE it and would definitely recommend it over P90X any day.  No equipment necessary and it will still kick your butt.  Check out the website and start with the fit test.  Yes you will be dying, sucking wind and wishing you had never considered it by the time your done with the test....or maybe even after the first exercise.  But we can all agree that it is so worth it afterwards and you may even begin to look forward to it.  It is an exciting new workout that will challenge your body and mind but you can push through it.  Just stick with it and DIG DEEPER!!  Good Luck.  Let us know how it goes.

  10. Hi Abby....and JJ

I'm coming up on my 1 yr anniversary in November so any of the info I give you is outdated...especially with all the changes.  Hopefully one of the more recent brides can assist more.  Also try the search function.  That is how I found the info below.

My wedding is at ACP on October 20th (OMG that is really soon...) and I am in almost-bridezilla mode with my WC. Lots of questions, not a lot of answers. So I turn to you, you lovely brilliant women.

    Some questions:

    - Does anyone have the email address to book salon services in advance? I'd love to use this, as well as pass it along to guests - Tammy posted this 3/14/12 - Martha Ponce: e-mail [email protected]

    - Can you book excursions using your resort credit in advance? If so, I'd love an email address or protocol for this as well. - check out this post about excursions and resort dollars - http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/24314/aventura-spa-palace/2650#post_1755852 - not sure about the contact person

    - Were any of your guests golf nuts? I'd love to get my golf men some information on where to go, tee times, and if they can use resort dollars. - see link above for golf info

    - Cake? They say that the cake in the wedding package is for 30 people only- do any of you have sample size photos you can share? Will they work with your wedding colors? - we upgraded so I cannot answer about the size - we had a white cake and added bright orange lillies - so beautiful and tropical - they will work with you

    - Did any of you try to get all of your guests together for an informal (read: not-paid-for) rehearsal dinner? we are using our complimentary private function for the reception (only have 67-69 room nights... grrrrrr) and would love to not pay for a dinner at an all-inclusive (seems redundant to me). How did you go about this? Could you request it in advance? - we paid for the welcome dinner but I would suggest providing info to all your guests before leaving or in the OOT bags stating when and were to meet up for a group thing

    - Rather than booking a private cocktail function, could we all just crash one of the bars? Is there room? What's the protocol there? - I would do that if I were you - there are plenty of bars to choose from - find your favorite and get the word out to your guests

    - Did any of you do live-streaming? Do you think we could use the WiFi and do it ourselves? - no we didn't

Yes. Please forgive me. I am in full on, control freak zone.

Any guidance or Xanax you can give will be appreciated.

    Thanks!!

    Always,

    Abby
