  1. Hi Wendy, Was the $400 pesos and $750 for the hair-do's alone or did it include make-up as well? Thanks, also, does he have assistance to help him? We are a large party! Thanks for your info.
  2. Hi Wendy, Yes, thats who Paula has been getting quotes from. If you don't mind me asking how much he charged you? I wanted some arrangements and the ones I have sent her have all been quoted super expensive. Something that would cost here $95 he is quoting $150-$200 per arrangement. I thought that was pretty expensive. And I love the Manzanita Branch centerpieces but I don't want to pay for something so expensive, especially when Im not going to be able to keep it... So your feedback would be greatly appreciated... Thanks and Congrats Mrs.!
  3. Hi everyone, I want manzanita branches at my wedding in PV in October but I was wondering if they even have any? I found them in San Diego for cheap but can I even ship them? If so, what would be the cost? I really like them but I'm afraid they would break or it would be too expensive to ship. Help, are any of you using/have used branches? I could really use the help. Thanks. P.S. I don't like the branches that look like the bottom of the broom, I like the actual branches that look like tiny trees. Thanks.
  4. Thank you for the info, I heard thats a beautiful place. I will definately take it into consideration. Thanks.
  5. Yeah it a bug, but I do want a big Mariachi. I am so stressed over the guests, I want to keep it at 60 now it shot up to 120 and I really only want to do 80. It is so difficult but in the end it's my wedding and Iknwo I won't be able to please everybody. Yeah, Paula told me about the flip flops which I also thought were a cute idea. Where did you get the coupon? That's funny, are you located in San DIego? I am, and I love shopping at the Outlets. I am going to send out the Save The Dates but I am dreading that so many people will want to go. Did you get a DJ? Paula had mentioned one of her's but I also thought it was expensive but I will still look around, her DJ included a lot of extras that most DJ's wont have. Thanks. Â
  6. Hi thanks for the info, I hate that they charge per 45 min, whats up with that? Well I can say that these prices are much better that what our WC was quoting. Also I check edout their website and it has 11 or so musicians right? Seems fair and good. I will be contacting them and get a feel for them. I am super stressed with all the planning, I am trying to find a Mariachi, and keep the guest list down! How are you?
  7. Thanks for the info. Is it $400 an hour for 3 hrs? or 3 hrs for $400 in total(making it $100 an hour)? I know Mariachi's are not that high, did Paula quote you that? I really want a large Mariachi and I think I would like one for 4 hours so I will definately look into that. Thanks and let me know... How are your plans coming along?
  8. Hi Everyone, Â Can all you brides please tell me what Mariachi's you had/are having? I need info on Mariachi's. My WC quoted me $750 for 45 min and I know for a fact this is extremely high. It is really important to me to have a mariachi so every bit of info would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know what Mariachi's you guys have heard of/or are having and the specifics, how much and hour and how many are in the band? Thanks for your info everyone.
  9. Hi and Congrats on your Wedding. I am also a 2011 bride!!! Well my WC and photographer said between 45min - 1 hour. It really all depends on you and your scheduling for the wedding. Are you having a cocktail hour? Usually photos are taken during the cocktail hour. You have to sort out what time dinner will start and so on and that will give you your time frame. You can also shorten your time a bit if you are going to have pictures taken the day after. Good Luck!!!
  10. Hi, If anybody has been quoted from Mariachi Joya de Mexico can you please let me know? I think they are great but I would like to know how much they charge per hour! Thanks girls.
  11. Please let us know how the pictures came out! I would love to get more feedback with regards to her work. Thanks and I hope they are beautiful.
  12. THanks so much for the info. I will definately look into that. HOw was your DJ? What equipment did he bring with him? DId he have light towers? Did he have good and current music from all types (english and spanish)? Did he have a back (it's like a curtain that covers his area so people don't see if your walkingbehind him)? How much does he charge per hour? I know its a lot of questions, sorry, the DJ referred to us cost $1800 for 6 hours and I thought that was expensive. Thanks again.
  13. Great thanks, Yes, I know they were trying to gives us their (hotel and WC) recommendation but my fmaily is from Mexico and I know that is not the actual price, I guess it is if your are a tourist. But thanks so Much for this info. Also, do you remember how big the Mariachi was? I mean in members, we like the big Mariachi's that are 8 or 9 piece band. Thanks again for all the info.
  14. Thank you, I really appreciate it. If it's not too much to ask, do you know what their prices were per hour? I thought $750 for 45 min is extremely High, They don't even charge that in San Diego. Thanks and much appreciated, your wedding looked amazing.
  15. Hello to all Mayan Palace Brides..... Â First off, COnGRaTS!!!! I juat returned from my scouting trip to PV and fellin love with the Mayan Palace Marina. WOW is what I can say. Beautiful property and Beautiful Views. I picked the Mayan because to me this place not only caters to its guests, but also it's events. The areas they have are beautiful and in the total pakcage, your getting 4 areas for thevprice you pay. You get the Jetty, Sunset Bar, Beach and there is a section that sits on top of the beach that is awesome for receptions that has Palms Everywhere. I can't express how excited I am to have my wedding here. If you have quesions, ask away. I will try to email pictures if requested. This place has so many areas perfect for pictures. Â On another note, there are iguanas that lay by the lagoon that make this place that much more special. No they do not bite, but they are great to look at.
  16. Hi EVeryone, Â I am looking for Mariachi's and Trio's based in PV. I was told by my coordinator it would cost $750 for 45 min for a Mariachi of 8 or 9 people. I think this is too much as I am looking for additional music as well and do not want to spend a lot of money on a Mariachi for 2 or 3 hours. PLease let me know what you all have found. ANy info re: Trio's, Maricahi's and DJ's would be great. THanks everyone.
  17. Hi Amanda, Â I met with her and she did inform me she takes anywhere from 1-2 months to get the fotos back. I actually saw all the CD's and the stack of her work that she had. She was busy. All in all that does not excuse the lack of communication. I'm sorry your so frustated, I can only imagine. I knew this of her as my WC told me and Paulina told me too. So for evryone else considering Pau, this is true. At least from others that have used her have informed me that wait is worth it in the end. Â
  18. Hi,  Welcome and Congrats. I am also a newbie. I just came back from PV and most hotels there have access to the beach. Well, The Resorts definately have access. Here are a few:  Playa Fiesta Barcelo Mismaloya Mayan Palace Marina Westin Club Regina Villa del Palmar Melia Dreams Velas  These are just a few but it really depends what are you want your reception. Look at the hotels on the google map and you can have a better idea. Hope this helps.
  19. Hi Brides and Congrats on your wedding.... Â I just got back from Puerto Vallarta. I went there for 5 days to scout the location and pick a hotel for my October 2011 Wedding. I went to Club Regina that is located next to the Westin. It's a great hotel, especially for large wedding parties. The spot where weddings are done is great. There is a small barrier that separates the beach from the venue, which can be good for the purpose of children. The bathrooms aare also located right next to the venue. Â The Westin is a beautiful. It really caters to it's guests and that's really it. The spot where the weddings are held especially for small weddings is not great. It is in a corner next to a wall. The landscape of the Westin has a variety of pools, the palms are amazing.... There is also a barrier separating the hotel from the beach, which is great for kids but again, you would have to see it to decide if that is your style. They have an outdoor area on the beach for weddings but every section is seperated which makes it odd since the point of a wedding is to unite families. But again, the hotel itself is great. Â The Mayan Palace Marina is awesome. The exterior of the hotel when you pull up is not that great. But then you go inside the hotel and the WOW factor comes in. The hotel is open space with a "lagoon" in the front. They have a "river" that wraps the hotel and just takes your breath away. Many palms decorate the Mayan and the beach is right there. A stairway leads down to the beach. Beautiful Hotel..... The hotel also has a club inside that can be used after the party since most weddings end at 1 a.m. The club can be used with prior advisal. Â All in all, Vallarta is awesome and breath-taking. My favorite was "El Eden". Absolutely stunning... Marina Vallarta is 10-15 min away from Downtown as well as the airport. Very close to everything. Hope this helps a bit. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Happy Planning.
  20. Hi Everyone, Â I actually just got back from PV, I will be getting married in 2011 and I got Paulina for my photographer. Her work is amazing and she is a really nice and great person. Her website is www.paulinaulloa.com. Yes, her work is expensive but it is worth it. At least in my opinion a bride should splurge for photography b/c the memories are the ones that last. Her starting package starts at $2,100 and the most expensive is $3,400 or so. Let me know and I can email anyone her packages. Thanks.
  21. Hi, thanks for responding. From a different forum I see you hired Vallarta Wedding PLanners, how did you like them? Was it a good experience? How is their work ethic? Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you.

  23. Hi Everyone, I would like to know what is the average cost for Florists? I was quoted an estimate of $1,450 for everything from centerpieces, bouquet (mine and the bridal party, 2 bride's maids), ceremony, etc.... My wedding is for about 60 people. I would love everybody's input. Am I being overcharged? I have yet to decide what flowers, I haven't discussed that yet with my WC. Thanks to All.
