Thanks Ginger! Ya I have no idea how they got that one wrong. They didn't ask my height but just asked for a measurement which I gave them with my shoes on. Even though it is a holiday there I emailed them last night and they responded immediately and then again this morning so hopefully the wait is not as long as you may think!

Thanks Karen! I think I will use it for the TTD depending on how much alterations cost as I still plan on loosing quite a bit of weight and it may cost alot as there is beading on the bottom part of the dress that you can't see in the pictures which would either be lost or they would have to remove the beading at the waist to pull it up from there and I think that could get costly here in Canada.

That's also what I heard. Anymore than two sizes usually changes the look of the dress. I don't have my dress either so don't worry but you are right it is about crunch time and I think I may order mine the weekend of the 15th of October which gives six months for it to come and have alterations done.

The dress looks almost identical. They did a great job on it! i would just saw to them that it should be more gathered around the hips and the front seem at the waist should not be like that but more gathered and fitted to the side. I am not the best with dress making lingo but i think they would get the point and then it would be an exact replica. Great job!

Thanks ladies I appreciate the thoughts! Ok as promised but a little late. Review of the dress. I tried it on at work so don't mind the bathroom backround lol It was too big and long and the boning isn't strong enough for my girls lol and didn't give me that hourglass figure that the original does. Then again it's too big so I couldn't really pull it in tight enough to see as it is a corset back. It needs to be steamed. It's a beautiful dress and they did a fantastic job on the beading and the overall quality of the dress but the bodice is pleated and the original dress isn't like that. The beading detail is not slanted like the original dress but more straight across the lower waist. It has smaller scattered beadint on the shirt and the lining of the side and bottom of the skirt also which you can't really see in the pics. The petticoat they sent was too small and short and looks silly with the dress. It is supposed to be a-line but doesn't give that effect. I am wearing it in the pics. The train is also longer than I would have liked but hey some brides like a really long train. I may use it for my trash the dress but will have to have it altered so I am not sure yet i might just sell it and order another one closer to the date after I lose more weight. For the price they charge it is a steal for any bride on a budget. Here are some pics And here is a link to the original dress http://www.sotteroandmidgley.com/dress.aspx?keywordText=ssm5161&keywordType=any&page=0&pageSize=15&style=SSM5161

Those are gorgeous Barefootidos! What exactly are clay flowers? How do they feel? Are they heavy? Never seen that before! -
So I picked up the dress. It's nice, good workmanship, not sure I am happy with the pleating on the bodice as the original dress looks different. I requested different beading and they did a really good job on that. Not able to try it on as I need help getting it done up and i can't reach my girlfriend who lives close so I will have to wait to post pics and a more detailed review. I don't think I will have pics till the weekend. My initial reaction is i think I will order the original but I am going to wait and try it on and see! They are having a trunk sale on maggies in two weeks so i may be able to order the original with a discount and just use this one for the TTD and then sell the original after my AHR.

I might order BM dresses from Monica Bridal also but haven't decided yet. I am going to wait and see how my dress turns out. I did find a really cheap alternative for BM dresses though through AVON of all places (they are like Mary Kay kinda). They have a blue convertible dress that is on sale for 34.99 plus taxes. Here is the link. http://shop.avon.ca/avonshop_en/default.asp I like it cause they can wear it like 7-11 different ways, it's light and flowey and it's very close to my color.

The important people are what count for sure! I did book the TTD! So excited. Also my dress was delivered today so I am going to pick it up tonight. Can't wait to see it! I am going to do a pre travel brochure and send out my luggage tags with that about a month before the trip.

Tha'ts great Kerry. How many do you have going? Why even bother with invites if everyone has already booked? Oh fyi I ended up booking with Ivan Luckie! Can't wait to see your pics from him though I am not sure they will be done on time cause I leave April 23rd and getting married the 26th!

Karen-I wasn't comfortable ordering another dress either so they took a day or two and created an item number with the picture of my dress so i could pay on that one and put all notes and explanations in the emails attached to that dress item number. Ask them to do it and they will. That is their standard answer i think but press the issue. They flat out told me no to pictures prior to me paying so they didn't do that to get my sale. It just might be something they changed to be competitive with other dress makers as we are visual creatures! I hope they change it for you future brides cause then you don't feel like you are taking such a risk.

Lucky you Ashley! I would love to do a site visit but can't find the time this year and not sure if I can fit it in the budget for early next year as all the prices are higher in the winter. They have really good deals on from now until mid december i think with bookit at 79$ a night for the room per person if anyone is interested in going.
