  1. We have booked a fishing boat to take our guests out for the afternoon. It holds up to 70 and cost $2000. We are inviting 100 so let's hope they don't all come!
  2. Also, you can't really tell from the pictures but every flower has a rhinestone brooch in the center, even the little ones, It looks even better in person.
  3. The seller is ryeleighrose on Etsy. She is moving right now so she doesn't have any active listings but I'm sure she'll be back soon. I paid $175 shipped.
  4. So, I ended up getting a seller on Etsy to make me a similar bouquet. It came in the mail today and it is amazing! Exactly what I wanted. I'm trying to attach pictures but for some reason it ain't working out for me. I'll see what I can do.
  5. I plan on doing my own. I got my make-up done by a "pro" at Sephora and it was awful. I mean really, really bad. I can't trust anyone else to do it. I've spent a lot on all new make-up but I'm not counting it in the wedding budget because I figure I'll use it for other things. I needed new make-up anyways. I've had the same stuff for years.
  6. We've been apart for much of our relationship. Honestly, I'm more worried about what's gonna happen when we're finally living together! After the wedding we'll still be living apart (about 5 hours) for about a year. I thought about waiting until I finish grad school before the wedding but I just couldn't do it. I couldn't have that hanging over me for more than 2 years. Actually, I know quite a few couple who have been apart during their marriage.
  7. They aren't RealTouch or anything like that. They're handmade by the designer and each flower has a vintage crystal brooch or button in the middle. I can see why they're so expensive! Hopefully someone can reproduce it for me.
  8. I didn't even know that existed. I'll check it out. Thanks!
  9. Okay, that might be a bit melodramatic, lol. I've been looking at flowers for a couple months now and I just keep coming back to this vendor. Problem is, it is WAY outside of my budget. I mean really outrageously expensive. Has anyone seen anything even remotely similar out there. I check Etsy almost every day. Here's the website and a picture... http://emicibridal.bigcartel.com/
  10. Thanks for the replies, ladies. I forgot to mention there is no chance for a redo because I'm going to be out of state until December. By then it'll be too late to use the pics for what we wanted them for. Â I've been putting this off because I was hoping the pictures would grow on me but it just hasn't happened yet....
  11. Â So I think I may have made a huge mistake. I booked my photographer for e-pics and the wedding without an interview or even a phone call. Her albums online looked good, the price was right, and I just wanted to get it over with. Â We had our e-shoot last weekend and it didn't really go like I had expected. Within minutes of us getting there we started shooting with little discussion of what we wanted or expected. I was very surprised when she said it would take less than an hour because I had expected it to take 2-3 hours. Unfortunately, we are not the kind to "speak up" when we should and that is our own fault. She only posted 40 pictures online and of those 10 are ones where we are kissing. It's just not our style. We're not a lovey-dovey couple. I only like about 10 of them. Â Now granted, I typically do not like how I look in photos, but I thought a good photog was supposed to make you look good? She was obviously at the end of a long day during our shoot and it just seemed like she wanted to get it over with. She was nice enough but I just thought she would want to take more time to get to know us and find out what we wanted before the shoot. I can admit that this is at least half our fault. We should have been more assertive. At this point I know I have to say something. I can't let this happen on my wedding day. I'm just not sure how to break the news to her? What would you do?
  12. We're not having a wedding party either. Glad to see we're not the only ones since my family acts like it's the weirdest thing ever!
  13. We are getting married at Marker 88 Restaurant. We also looked into the Island Grill, Lazy Days, Lorelei, The Islander, and Morada Bay Beach Cafe. The Islander and Morada Bay had site fees around $3500. Of course, food and drinks are additional so those just did not fit into our budget. We liked the atmosphere of Marker 88 the best. It's right on the water.
  14. Have you thought about the Upper Keys? I think it would be tough to pull that off for 10k in Key West. I'm getting married in Islamorada and I have the same budget.
  15. Maybe mine is too big or something but I feel like it might fall off when my hands are wet. I take it off to do dishes, shower, and sleep. Usually when I take it off for dishes I forget to put it back on so I guess I have it off more often than not when I'm in the house.
  16. We called our parents and siblings and then posted on facebook the same night. I think it's a great way to let people know. We're not big phone-talkers so it would be a little weird for us to call up our friends and tell them .
  17. We're getting married in Islamorada, then heading down to Key West for a few days. Hopefully our families won't try to follow us there!
  18. Hi all! I wish I would have found this forum months ago! We're getting married July 2, 2011 in Islamorada, Florida. I guess it's technically not a destination wedding since I live in South Florida. It just so happens that none of our guests do!
