What have you heard about the people that do makeup at the resort? How much do they charge?

My daughter wanted Fernando to do her wedding makeup (her wedding is at 4 PM) but Fernando is only available at 12 Noon and she is afraid the makeup will not look fresh for her 4 PM ceremony. Fernando told her she should use his partner, Julius but we have not seen any reviews on Julius, only Fernando! Has any bride used Julius before and were you happy with the end results? My daughter is getting married at Azul Beach on May 28, 2011 and we can hardly wait! It is an amazing resort. We are having the family style dinner on the Blue Terrace for 50 people. Now we are trying to find a makeup person and I think we are booking Doranna for hair.

I'm hoping once we get there we can negotiate the price with the wedding coordinator in Mexico. I think we may have more flexibility in Mexico but will let you know for sure when we return. Several items we left off our details sheet and are hoping to get a better price in Mexico like rose petals for the isle,little bags of rose petals to throw at bride and groom, the nice chairs, etc., etc.. My daughter is having her reception on the Blue Terrace and she likes the chairs because they are wood and have arms. We are bringing bows to add color and also table runners and colored napkins. The resort wants to charge $5.00 for each cloth napkin. I think I can get them for $1.00 each! We just paid for the wedding, minus the flowers which my daughter is still deciding on. We paid an extra $10.00 per person to extend the reception from 10 PM to 11 PM. So the wedding ceremony will be at 4 PM, cocktail party at Wave Lounge from 4:30 PM to 6 PM, then reception on Blue Terrace from 6 PM to 11 PM. Does anyone know how you can get around the $60.00 per bottle charge for champagne, This sounds extremely high. Do they deliver bottles of champagne to your room if you want it in bottles?

When are you getting married at Azul Beach? My daughter is getting married May 28, 2011. She wanted those chairs but it was too expensive for 40 chairs!

Try Paul Schrank from Playa Weddings. His videos are amazing....two people operating cameras and videos are done in Blue Ray. Very high quality and he is great to work with, answer emails, speak English (he is American) and we can't wait for him to video our daughter's wedding on May 28th! Call him. You can't go wrong with this reliable company.

They charge $99 day pass for each makeup and hair vendor.

If you want the Blue Terrace, you can have it....just tell them you want the reception on the Blue Terrace They will do it....they are flexible with the number!

Does anyone happen to know the name and location of the florist that Karisma uses? My daughter wants to check out colors of orchids when she gets to Mexico. She wants Fushia, Pink and White Orchids. Anyone have any ideas....she has to decide by Monday! Thanks!

Were you able to add items to your detail sheet after you paid your final bill?

LOVE them! Where did you get them and how much did they cost?

Once you send in your detail sheet and pay for everything, can you still add things later on? My daughter has to pick everything my April 11th and she hasn't decided on everything yet. Can you still add things when you get down to Mexico? Thanks!

What kind of price did you get from them? Also is there a group of photographers or just 2 in this company. They do really nice photos!

I asked my daughter's wedding coordinator in Miami about this specific question and she said that they would do the same thing as the legal ceremony if that is what we wanted and that is what my daughter wants since no one will know (except me) that they were already married in the states. Sorry for the long sentence!! You do have to tell them that you want this done, though! Hope that helps!

When you do your table seating cards to show people what table they are sitting at, do you have one card for each person or one card per couple? Thanks!

Look inro Azul Beach! Very intimate. Now they have only 98 rooms but are adding more and will have 130 rooms within the next few months. My daughter is getting married there in May and it's an amazing resort. Look on trip advisor for reviews. Good luck!

Maggie....Ours is a private event too and our wedding coordinator told us menu cards were included and that my daughter could send them her logo and they would print it on the menu card. I wish they would get things straight. We were also quoted $65 for steaming the dress and you were quoted $50!!

Did you get a price for steaming your dress? We were quoted $65 which seems high. Also they told us menu cards were included with the reception...did you know that?

My daughter picked Destinationweddings.com as her travel agent planner and then had the Save The Dates printed up with the travel consultant's email and phone number. Then DestinationWeddings.com said they could not secure any of the rooms for us at Azul Beach and just said to my daughter "Sorry, you will have to pick a different wedding date!". My daughter was sooo upset. She contacted a GI (Gourmet Inclusive) travel agent through Karisma's website who was able to secure 25 rooms for her wedding and her date. To make a long story short, we had the Save The Dates reprinted with the new travel agent and got all the rooms that DestinationWeddings said were "not available" and my daughter's wedding will be in May as planned. Thank g-d we did away with DestinationWeddings.com! Best wedding decision we have made to date! Good luck with your plans!
