  1. any of you canadian ladies know where to get smallish square vases for cheap???
  2. so yeah... our AHR is in just over 2 weeks now and we are so NOT organized!!! the in-laws insisted that we get this hall because they wanted to host this thing for their friends.. well as of 2 weeks after our RSVP date, we had a total of 56 yesses out of 98 invited... so a MASSIVE hall with 50 people.. nice...... they amount would have totally fit in the in-laws backyard for a bbq (which is what we wanted) ... hall is paid for though so it's kind of a 'too bad' situation. HOWEVER MIL calls the other day saying the final count is over 80!!! ummm ???? no idea where these other 30 people came from! grrrr...... anyway, i still don't know how many tables we're having... what's happening linen-wise... or what we're doing for centerpieces! ... only thing that is figured out is that i'm going to make cupcakes in lieu of buying a cake which i'm going to start doing this weekend (just freeze them). the party is in TWO WEEKS!!!! on top of everything hubby has been working crazy late nights for the past 2-3 weeks so he's been so stressed and tired that i'm being left alone to try and deal with all this. SO STRESSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm worried this whole thing is going to look like crap!
  3. i've been so busy lately but made my way back here at an awesome time!!! ummmm Erin!!! omg!!!!! congrats!!! TLG -- GREAT shots!!!
  4. Meggers -- wow that must be so frustating!!! sorry you're stuck dealing with his BS. hopefully he gets you something asap! .... i guess in some ways i should be glad that we didn't bother with a photographer?
  5. Mocha - LOVE your pics btw!
  6. hi ladies!!!! i feel like i've missed so much just being away for like a week --- i was stuck in training here at work. Brandy --- in regards to thank you cards, don't worry about feeling rushed about getting them. Geeze, my cousin got married last October 1st and we only JUST got his thank you card like 2 weeks ago!!!!!! We ordered ours and actually just got them the other day. After getting so many FREE things from Vista Print for the wedding we thought we'd actually give them some business. Bought our AHR invites from them too and the quality is awesome! As for when we're going to mail them out..... we've decided we'll start by sending them right away to those who we have already recieved gifts from but WON'T be coming to our AHR. We're also going to send right away to those who came to Jamaica but CAN'T come to the AHR. We're also going to write some up for both of our offices as they gave us generous gifts. We have also already recieved many gifts from people who ARE coming to our AHR, so we're just going to wait until after the fact to thank them for the gift and joining us at the AHR. Since we have the cards already, we plan to just send them asap after the AHR (no waiting 6 months for us) so that it's done and we dont' forget anyone.
  7. NO idea what we're doing with our pictures yet!!! i don't think we'll even start thinking about that until our AHR unfortunately... our AHR is starting to consume us now with just over 6 weeks to go. Invites are finally going out today/tomorrow and then onto decorating ideas and such... NOTHING has been done yet or even talked about in terms of how we're going to decorate the hall... if we're going to get a cake... etc.. Crazy!!! lol We did buy a new bed on the weekend though with some wedding $$$$ so that finally begins our master bedroom makeover. I think I'd like to get one of our wedding shots printed in black and white to go above the bed once we paint and such.
  8. ummm Tris.. i'm not gonig to lie, i teared up when looking at the pics of you with your grandfather. so precious and so amazing that he was able to be there!!! you looked stunning girl!!
  9. Shelley!!! love the AHR pics!!!! As for changing resorts.. i absolutely LOVED our resort and wished everyone else would change or just GO after the wedding!!! LOL ..... i loved the trip and it was awesome getting to share it with everyone, but hubby and i never even got ONE entire day on our own because people wouldn't leave us alone!!!! before going on the trip we had asked for some alone time since it would be our honeymoon as well but aside from one dinner on our own at an a la carte rest. there always seemed to be someone in our group around us at all times..... i'm dying to go on another trip just the 2 of us now to make up for it!
  10. I'm down with making our own meet-up if the square one meet doesn't work (I'm on the complete opposite side of TO) i'm sure our AHR will be worth it in the end and we'll enjoy ourselves... to be honest, we're in it for the $ that his parents say we'll get LMAO!!! hoping to maybe get enough to re-do our kitchen this summer!!!
  11. I really wish we could scrap the AHR ... but the inlaws have already invited all their friends an paid for the hall and such... it's like this AHR is for them really.. not us. Ah well. Meg - the bikini pic rocks!!!!!
  12. ahh!!! those are great shots Meg!!!
  13. we had i think 3 people take video througout our wedding day... the plan is to edit them all into one video with music and such. now it's just to find the TIME to do it! LOL we haven't even seen any of those vids yet!
  14. Mocha!!! those pics are fantastic!!! you looked amazing!!! when is this square one meet-up??? it's kinda far away for me but might be doable depending when it is. i still can't believe the trip and wedding has already come and gone!!! where did the time go!?! our AHR is 7 weeks away and our invites only just showed up yesterday! gah!!!! they'll be in the mail before the weekend is up (at least most people already know when it is) ... NOTHING has been done or even spoken about in terms of decorations and stuff.. i think it's really going to start to stress me out soon. i'm in a place right now where my wedding was INCREDIBLE and i could care less if i had an AHR.. i kinda wish we didn't have to have it!!!
  15. OMG Lisa! I just watched your video here at work -- we don't have sound but WOW ...
  16. Welcome back Erin!!! Lisa & Brandy - i LOVE your photos!!!! Everyone made such gorgeous brides!!!! update on my end... finally got our invites for our AHR from vistaprint yesterday (ordered them a few days after getting back from Jamaica) so our goal is to get those mailed ASAP. We also then ordered thank you cards on vistaprint using one of our fav pictures from the big day.
  17. We went with Signature Vacations/Sunwing out of Toronto and it cost $1406 per person - taxes in.
  18. Like Mocha, I went with real-touch flowers as it was the only way to get the colours I wanted and the flowers i wanted. I ordered my flowers off of afloral.com and assembled my bouquet by myself. It travelled in a little bit of bubble wrap in our carry-on back pack and still looked great upon our arrival in Jamaica. I really liked how it ended up looking in our shots.. My bouquet now sits in a vase on our dresser waiting for our AHR when I also plan on using it as decoration there. You can't bring real flowers home from another country, but this way I have my bouquet forever.
  19. Teira!!! I love them all!!!!! GORGEOUS!!!!
  20. Thresa/Sheri - Welcome back MRS's!!! Great shot Theresa!!! Can't wait to see some of yours Sheri!!
  21. I actually packed my hubby's suit in our suitcase. We didn't even have to worry about ironing his suit or steaming my dress. The 3 days of humidity prior to our big day was all they needed.
  22. I flew Sunwing a couple of weeks ago and the flight attendants both on the way down and on the way back were REALLY good. They had reserved an overhead bin just for my dress. any time someone would open it, she'd be right there closing it again not allowing anyone to put anything on top.
  23. JA143 -- I believe you mentioned in another thread that you were planning on the Riu Negril?? if so, they do have a back-up location incase of rain. it's really nice actually. I believe I have a pic of that area too if you want. Just let me know.
  24. September is most definitely part of hurricane season. I was there april 6-13 and the weather was incredible. high's of 30deg, lows of about 24deg (those temps in C)... windy some days, but it was welcomed as it helped make the heat feel more bearable. every day clouds seemed to roll in around 2pm but out of the 7 days we were there it spit rain for maybe 15 min.
  25. Hey everyone is alive!!! LOVE ALL THE PICTURES ladies!!!!
