  1. LOL I know that's right.. I'll tell you any updates of course well after your wedded Bliss..... Exactly, Funny thing is, I am disappointed in my cousin (HIGHLY)....however; as far as his daughter, Derick is (GREATLY) disappointed. However; as mentioned they had more than enough time to get thinigs together. The down side is, I already purchased all BM dresses & broaches well over 2 months ago...each dress being $268. So for his daughter's I would keep, my cousin as I told her will defintely have to pay for hers. I'm not lossing $500+ dollars behind no body.
  2. Well ladies, It was a quite, serene, semi-productive day in the world of work and wedding planning. However; I received an email from my TA that said "the name, and dates" of 2 more people who booked. so as of today we have 21 rooms + our room. And one more guaranteed room tomorrow (as my BM left her wallet home but didn't know until she called the Travel Agent ;-) So as it stands right now we are at 82 room nights. In addition we have about 5 more persons (with roommate) saying that they are going. This would be great if they book through us so that we can push that number up there (you know I'm a planner). However; with that Dynamic news, I also had to send out a text message to 2 of my "almost gone" bridesmaids. Why a text you ask? Well because if I had called them it would not have come out so nice. To be honest and quite frank. Long story short, FI's spoiled 19year old daughter does not have nor did she decide to use the money that her father gives her weekly to purchase a passport. So now she is "waiting for her mom to give her the money since her dad won't pay for it." And well, lets just say the mom has no where near (even after 15 yrs) let go of FI so that is slow coming to get a child a passport. Either way, FI is dealing with the fact his only daughter may not be at his wedding. Second my cousin (who no excuse is taking, accepted) said "oh I started a new job and I don't know if I can come" I mean really you don't work weekends, adjust the time and come Friday to Sunday.. enough said right.. well I guess not. However; after weekly communications with them I find out this news today. Never mind that when she got married in 10/10 in Tennessee that I flew down there to buy a damn dress that I could have brought on line, then had to fly myself, my son and my mom there for her wedding. I'm mean how soon we forget. So with that said here is my text. "Ladies, this is a friendly reminder that things need to be solidified with room bookings, flight & passports if you still plan on attending our upcoming wedding taking place in Cancun, Mexico. You have at LEAST until the 15th to book your trip thru Liz (our TA) if you want to take advantage of the wedding party group rates (with FREE added bonuses)...BUT while you may feel you still have time to book your trip and/or obtain your passport, please make note that due to planning/budgeting purposes WE have set 12/1 as OUR personal DEADLINE. Soooooo, if you have NOT taken any of the necessary steps as mentioned above no have I been informed of your intentions regarding your previously accepted role, your silence or lack of action will confirm your resignation from your role and unfortunately you will be removed from any future mailings/emails/texts/alerts or updated regarding 4/21/12. While D and I totally understand that situations do occur in each of our lives, we also know that we have given ample notice, updates etc. to those that e would love to be by our side. With much Love & Prayers we hope to see you all in Mexico!!" No response was received from his daughter. However; my cousin sent a lame as response talking about her job. Funny thing is, she works at the very same college where she just graduated from. Really..... My reply to a senseless text "Thanks" Bottom line is, there will be bumps and bruises in this planning process but just as FI said "regardless of who is there, the end result will be that WE are married." Happy Planning!
  3. Selina, You are so totally AMAZING! The glasses are fierce with two snaps, and a twist Everything is absolutely perfect! I do hope that you feel better real soon.
  4. Well Ladies, Today was certainly a mixed day... I was able to print 25 pages of our welcome book, get a report done by 10am, and prepare myself mentally for Jury Duty. And then, my Lead Clinician/Risk Quality Director advised me that she will resign in December. What is a VP to do without her right hand woman? Well, definitely recruit and recruit hard to find someone of her caliber but my heart knows that it will take 3 people to equal her weight in gold. So I wily definitely have a meeting with my CEO to change our strategic plan for mid-late 2012 projects. Okay so while my head was pounding because of the news, I headed home to relax. But went to get 2 magazines for my long wait at court tomorrow. So, after my son's homework and dinner was prepared, I called the automated number and the damn auto man told me that "I was excused" WTH... I was looking forward to sitting, reading my magazines with no access to my cell or computer (well not that part) but damn I did not want to go to work.. UGH>>>>> Well since I can't wear jeans tomorrow I need to iron something for work. Okay, the good news is I received my gold card from Michaels, I was so hard this time I have a key fob. So, I will take advantage of the work day by heading in early to print.
  5. Selina, You are on the ultimate countdown! My thoughts, prayers and blessings are with you.
  6. Oh my love, I am so so sorry to hear this news! It saddens my heart to hear that someone was robbed and unfortuantely with the sign of the times and the state of the economy this will happen far to often. I pray that you can at least recoup something financially. Know that your mom and grandparents memories live beyond the jewels, which is something that even thieves can't take away. May you and your FI be blessed.
  7. Hi Essential! Congrats on getting things accomplished before the start of the semester. Whew, I do not evny you at all with Grad School but I am sure that you are doing a dynamic job. And know that it will all pay off in the end. Check Check Check.... you have a lot done. Let me know if I can help in any way.
  8. Ndvidul, Your flowers came out great!! And very natural. Good use of the burlap as that definitely tie on the natural look & feel that you were going for. There is a great saw kit at Michaels that I used for the base it was about $8 & the saw itself about the same. However it Woukd be hard to use on a finished project such as your bouquet. Maybe going forward this Would help. Awe you are such a sweetie to have remembered & thought of us. We are so in love with our theme and all that it stands for. May your day be as beautiful as your Spirit!! Muah
  9. R~ Wow, as another mentioned I feel like I want to cry! So as I fight back tears, let me simply say Thank you and Well Done! Your DIY projects has brought life & lite to many of us who dreaded heading down that path. But because of your post, your willingness to share, we ventured on! Your SPIRIT, is refreshing! Your Path into wedding planning, made very clears. So I will say this, Congratulations on your upcoming business! Peace and Blessings to you and yours.
  10. I'm going to PM you! It's pretty standard info though. I'm there from the 17th-22nd and then 22nd to 27th at LeBlanc. If we can't come together to take pictures, on that night maybe we can all exchange number etc before we leave so at least catch up if only for a few minutes and officially meet.
  11. Go Jamie!! I know that you are very excited. If you are looking for a wide range of colors for raffia Michaels should have it. I purchased mine from Nashvillewraps.com. Happy DIYing
  12. Well ladies, As DIYprojects for me are winding down (Finish our welcome book, Menus, Programs, Table Numbers & Escort Cards), I am beginning to list out and focus on what is needed for our welcome dinner, ceremony & reception along the lines of decor, vows, etc. Most of these things will be items to be purchased (chair sashes, tabel linens) etc. In creating this list, I noticed that I only had one thing missing that would complete my wedding day attire (besides the something borrowed), which was my jewels. So, I have begun to work with the lovely Chelsea to create earrings & a neckalce that will undoubtedly compliment my dress, sash and birdcage veil. I'm so excited!!!! As an FYI if you find me MIA over the next few days/weeks is because I have Jury Duty on the 2nd (we are not allowed to take cell phones or any device with a camera (oh what a boring day this will be), Site Visit to what will be our new clinic, along with the relocation of our what will be the old clinic... Training on the 14th & 15th. And this is only the beginning... I knew these things were coming (minus the Jury Duty) early this year, hence the need to get many projects done done done.... I hope that you DIY projects are going well!
  13. Wow, that's awesome you will be there with several of us ;-) How long you will be on the resort? I'm there from the 17th-22nd then headed to LeBlanc for 5 days. Anyway, just to let you in on a little secret (Shhhhhh) not many of us (especially myself) was a DIY person before this site. However; with wanting to save, splurge a little on my wedding dress and shoes, I decided to try to save where I could. And this was the way to go. First and foremost you need to know that your wedding package is SOLELY for your wedding ceremony only! This may not be a big deal if you have a small guest list and you don't plan on doing a "formal reception" because that would mean that the latter would be all white unless you either purchased your own linen or more decor from Zuniga which at current averages $3.00 for 1 yes 1 sash.. Hmmm clearing my throat whiIe said HELL NO. LOL So FI & I chose to do the complimentary session, whereby we are bringing our own decor (except flowers). MP will move these very same decorations to our reception for a $65.00 set-up fee. Just something to think about. Also, I'm not to sure if you read (many many many threads ago) that I offered for those brides that will be at Moon Palace that week (I get married on the 21st) to come to my reception toward the latter part so that we can all take pictures in our wedding dresses. You are more than welcome to join us if your schedule permits.
  14. Hi Iyates and Welcome! When is your wedding? The hotel through Zuniga aka Deco Cancun can supply your decorations for your ceremony via their packages listed on Palace website (sapphire, diamond, etc.) In addition, you can bring your own to save money & get MP to set them up for you. Feel free to browse through this site (many many pages) and ask as many questions as you like, that's what we are here for.
  15. ndvidul, You are on the right path! The flowers look beautiful and I know that you will get them exactly the way that you want!
  16. When it comes to grocery shopping, car stuff etc.. I'm out as early! So when most crowds tend to get somewhere at 10, 11a I'm on my way home. #I can't stand shopping when there are tons of people around. Aww thanks so much! Trust me, before things go to print I verify, re-verify and sometimes re-do! The plan is definitely to relax and spend more quality time with the men folks as I won't be so caught-up in planning. Thanks lady ;-) I use the glue point to put the bling on. It is a fine point, so its awesome. It is blue in color but dries clear. It's so perfect for those little things.
  17. Hola Ladies, Well up at 6am out the house by 6:30a to get my car inspected, brakes & oil (winter prep)... I was able to work on our wedding ceremony script & vows. So with two hours to wait, I was able to get a lot done. So after running around and back in the house by 11:30a I decided to take advantage of the rain/snow & friends (not many like to bundle up etc...) We are shoe queens so the rain or snow don't mix well with our collection (I digress). Anyway, I finished all 55 Guest DND signs (minus 5...those that have extra large holes) Tools: Fiskars Circle Cutter, Memories scissors (part of my kit), tweezers, bling & Martha Stewart's ballpoint-tip glue pin.
  18. Hey Chelsea, I am cracking up!! We can reserve the name finding until we need to have some "Me time" at least we know that they will be fully occupied lol
  19. Let me tell you.. I left out after talking to Summer12. I went to buy a bottle of Hennessey (I love my brown alcohol)... came back and while having a drink I cut/seperated all 20 pages (60 DND sings). Then it was time to meet FI for dinner. Upon my return I showed him the welcome book cover along with page 1.. he was please... then he said "wow these are coming out really nice" in reference to the DND signs. So since he wanted to play 1 game on the PS3, I trimmed all of the DND signs. Tomorrow I will cut all of the holes out.. Oh BTW I'm trimming with a drink LOL
  20. Love it! I have to make a run to restock ;-) I tell you I cut and drink! It's the best of both worlds... therefore I always print extra hmmm yeah 2 hrs is a long time... I'm signing off LOL
