I love those bridesmaid dresses they are stunning, i think silver would go nicely with those and as a few people have mentioned they can be worn again you could maybe get your BM a silver bracelet as a gift for being your BM x

OOT bags sound fab what do you put in them i have never heard of them before, i am not sure what to do for favours and things was thinking of maybe personalised fans for the ladies which will be put on the seats at the ceremony also thought of mini tequilas and personalised shot glasses other than these ideas not thought of anything else.

My fave is number 2 as well so far but i like the style of the first dress, and i definatly agree that the red one is more of a winter colour this was my initial thought. Thats fab news that you got your paperwork through from the travel agent bet it feels more real for you now Nicyx how exciting

What do you ladies think of these bridesmaid dresses i have come down to these three but still not sure, i really like the claret red but not sure if the colour is to deep for a DW, also want to colour coordinate with flowers etc. Sorry for the pic heavy post p.s thankyou Lindobride14 for the tip on how to post pics :-) x

Hi AnnCam2011.....We have never been to Mexico before but always thought it was a very beautiful country and we always knew we would have a DW, so Mexico seemed inevitable, we chose the Gran Caribe Real because it has all the facilities that we need especially for the children i.e waterpark, kids clubs etc as there will be quite a lot of children with us and havingread the reviews on trip advisor the kids clubs seem quite popular. What is drawing you to the Gran Porto Real?

We have been working with Doreen who has been excellent however, i recently recieved an email from Flora saying that she is now dealing with all enquiries so i am guessing we have been changed, i have just read some where also that they are closing the michigan office where all the WC are based how is this going to effect us? We haven't been able to book yet as in the UK we are waiting for prices for November 2011 to be released so we don't have a confirmed date as of yet but carn't wait to book. FI would have liked to marry on 11/11/2011 but sounds like they have a few bookings for that date already :-) What plans have you ladies made so far, have you chosen a colour scheme/theme for your special day? Hey Sweetthang247 We are marrying at the Gran Caribe Real in November 2011 and so far the staff have been great and replied to all of our emails quite promptly, as Bonnie said their is a seperate thread on here for Gran Caribe brides which is very useful. We have decided on a beach wedding and hopefully a private reception on the villa terrace which looks lovely i have some info which has been sent to me from the hotel on menu's bouquets wedding packages etc if you want me to forward it on i would be more than happy to, good luck with your planning and hope you find a venue soon.

Michelle2011....All this with TC must be totally frustrating for you is there nobody higher up that you could get some info from and try and push them a little bit. Hopefully you will get it all sorted and confirmed soon though will keep my fingers crossed for you xx I have thought about having my hen party at Alton Towers for the day and staying in the hotel over night and having a spa day the following day before leaving for home, will probably go for a meal and drinks on another night though ;-) Sorry to go off topic ladies but is anyone else having problems with families over the DW, mine are driving me mad arrggghhhhhh!!!!

Hi I am also planning a November 2011 wedding at the GCR we haven't booked anything yet because waiting for 2011 prices to be released with the travel agent and also in discussions about weather to book the wedding direct with the hotel or with the TA. Vanessa C.....We are hoping for the 12th November which will be a Saturday so you will be around at the same time as me :-) Do you have any ideas where you want your reception? are you planning on a private reception or semi-private? think we are going to have a private recpetion hopefully on the villa terrace carn't wait to start booking everything. Is it still quite warm and nice weather in Cancun in November?

Hi Thought i would start a thread for anyone getting married at the Gran Caribe Real Resort and Spa in 2011, i know there is a 2011 thread already but thought i could start a thread were us Gran Caribe brides can share any information and planning ideas. We are getting married in November 2011 but not decided on a wedding package yet or if i will book through a TA or direct with the resort, what's everyone else doing?

Hi Ladies I am also a 2011 bride carn't confirm dates yet due to prices not yet being available but hoping for around 18th/19th November 2011. How do i add our date to the list of 2011 dates?? Have any of you got a theme i.e seashells, starfish etc for place cards/ table decorations and favors etc i am unsure as to have a theme or not also not totally decided on colours yet have seen a really nice claret red and ivory for bridesmaids but worried that the colours are to deep and heavy, was thinking of having roses for the bouquets but again nothing decided for definate will probably make our definate decisions as soon as we have booked it will feel more real then :-)

I think we have now definatly decided to stick with November 2011 just carnt wait to book now and dont think they come available till september/october unless anyone knows otherwise. Hiya Charmaine thank you very much for all the info you recieved from Doreen some was similar to what i had but the cakes, bouquets and menu's were a great help, thank you. There is a possibility that our wedding will be brought forward to November 2011 as my original plan was March 2012 but i keep reading loads of info on spring break and that cancun is like one massive party for american college students and this isnt what a want when going to get married!! May seems to be far to hot for us and the children who are coming and june-October is hurricane season so feel a bit limited to Nov-Feb and Nov is apparently when it is the most quiet just after thanks giving, just hope everything is still running kids clubs etc and that the water in the pools is still warm. It sounds like a good idea to book with a TA for the reasons you mention and is gives peace of mind in the long run as well, might look at booking the basic wedding package with first choice and adding on when in resort, or do you add on while still in the UK? Also anyone getting married at the Gran Caribe Real do you know how the bride arrives at the ceremony, horse and carridge etc or is it walking??

Hi We are looking to marry in Cancun at the Gran Caribe Real Resort in 2012 but i carn't seem to identify the best months to go with spring break (i don't want to go when the resort is packed with college students!) the high summer with very high temps and also the hurricane and rainy seasons. Is there a good time to go when its not heavily packed and not to hot/humid or raining heavy

Hi Everyone Well after doing some more reading on tripadvisor and various other websites i keep reading bad reviews about the Gran Caribe Real, the hotel we have chosen for our special day a few of the reviews mention about the beach, apparently there isnt much of one, and the rudeness of staff seems to come up quite a bit also read the food isn't to great. I am getting quite concerned now as i had set on this resort but the bad reviews are now putting me off, i have also read that they do try and sell you a time share thing!!! not something i want whilst on holiday really! I carnt really find another resort that has everything else we need this resort as a waterpark with slides etc that we wanted for our children this is quite high on our list so if anyone knows of any other resorts that have waterslides please let me know so i could have a look i would be very grateful, i am hoping someone can reassure me about the Gran Caribe Real.

Hi We are planning on marrying in March 2012 just wondered if anyone knows when 2012 holidays will be on sale in the TA, will be winter sun as its March, i am getting soooo impatient i just want to book my wedding now lol

Some of you ladies will have read my previus post regarding the Gran Caribe and first choice, well i am back and armed with lots more knowledge than when i started lol. Ok....so i went to Thomas Cook who advised they could book the Gran Caribe via Cosmos or First Choice that was until this morning when Cosmos have now pulled all flights to Cancun and there seems to be no insight into if they will be signing them up again the lady in the TA said it could be they have decided to sign contracts with someone else for another destination, so back to booking soley with First Choice as it is cheaper to book direct with First Choice rather than going via Thomas Cook. Regarding the wedding side of things i emailed the hotel direct and a lovely lady called Doreen emailed me back the same day and said she would love to help me with our wedding plans and gave me lots of information price lists etc but 2012 prices are not available yet so been going off 2011 prices as a guide. So as it stands at the moment i will have to stick to booking the holiday with first choice and the wedding direct with the Gran Caribe and for now keep an eye on thomas cook/cosmos. Although i have 2 years nearly to plan my wedding is there anything i should be doing now i feel in limbo, i dont know where to start for making a list and things what i need to get etc.
