Congrats to all the recent brides out there! Â Jen, I'm jealous you only have a month left of waiting. My wedding is 9 weeks from Saturday! I'm getting really excited. Â My fiance and I just bought our wedding bands the other day. Inviations have been sent out. The dress is currently being altered. All I have left to worry about is wedding favors and my soon to be 8 month pregnant bridesmaid! Â Also, does anyone have experience planning a rehearsal dinner at the resort? My future in-laws want to host a dinner the night before for all of our 45ish guests. I emailed the WC but her answers were very vague and my FMIL wants to send out invitations for it. I was pretty much told we can only have it at the World Cafe outdoor patio/terrace which is fine but it looked like 45 people would be a really tough fit. Plus we want a bar and music because that is basically more important than the food to us. Anyway let me know if anyone has any info! Thanks!!

I am going with the color Guava at David's Bridal. It is along the lines of coral but maybe more on the pinky side then orangy. Just wanted to add my two cents!

Hi Shelly, Â Sorry to hear about your frustrations. How long have you been waiting for a response from the WC? Did you fill out the wedding date request form? They definitely have the Caribbean attitude going on where everything gets done on their time so my advice is remain patient. All the brides that have gotten married here have nothing but great things to say about their experience. I don't have much advice for the reservations contact. We contacted someone towards the end of last year about getting a special price for our guests. She came back to us with a price that was more expensive than their own website was showing. Therefore we advised our guests to just book through the Dreams website or however they want. Good luck with everything!

Misty, congratulations on officially being a wifey! I am sure I will definitely cry on my legal day as well. Cogswellgray (sorry I dont know your name) I am having a "rehearsal" dinner for all of my guests the night before our wedding. I dont know when the actual rehearsal will be but I am calling this dinner a rehearsal anyway. We are paying $10 a person for this. I think they have a private area outside of the World Cafe for private dinners. However I dont know if you will be able to swindle a private dinner for free. Hope this helps!

Damn Eliana you seem to have so much done! Thanks for the FB friend request by the way I am working on invitations and wedding favors right now. And by working on I just mean that I need to place the orders. Haha I am far from a DIYer. We are sending luggage tags and embroidered hats to our guests as the wedding favors before going. That way we dont have to lug anything down there. I just can't wait to go on this vacation!!! Also, my bachelorette party is next weekend in Vegas!!!!! and next weekend is my 100 days to the wedding mark! We are doing the bach. party early because a few girls who have kids wanted to do it before school starts. My girlfriends planned everything and I have no idea what they have in store for me. I am soooo looking forward to a fun weekend away!!!

JandK, the civil ceremony is done in Spanish. However if you just go with a symbolic ceremony the WC will perform it in English.

Ugh I am experiencing the same thing. So annoying. We are still waiting on about 20 definites to book their trip. I'm not going to be the one stressing if the hotel fills up. It's their loss!

I'm originally from MA (Boston area) but live in CA. I am getting married in November in Punta Cana and have guests traveling from MA.

Hey Ska or Misty, can one of you provide me with the contact details for DJ Mannia? I was talking to my future mother-in-law the other day and she told me I have to go with the DJ that provides MC services just so she can hear him announce "For the first time introducing Mr. and Mrs T!" Haha.

Thanks for the info about the DJ. I am going to talk to my fiance about that. The pictures of the reception on the Himitru Terrace are on the "Dreams Punta Cana Brides" page not the "Dreams Punta Cana" page. There are only 2 of them but definitely gives a good idea of what it looks like at night.

Ska, I am having my reception on the Himitsu Terrace as well. I saw pictures of a reception on the Himitsu at night on the Dreams Punta Cana Brides Facebook page. It looked pretty lit up so I would worry too much about the lighting. Also, how much are you paying for DJ Mannia? I am getting my DJ through the resort but I am starting to wonder if it is around the same price it may be a better option to book outside of the package.

Hey Misty, FYI- I am booking the DJ through the resort. I asked my WC a few months ago if we could provide a list of music we want played and she responded yes.

What about a buffet on the beach? Could be nice if it isnt windy. Definitely email them pleading your case. Maybe they will go back to the other bride and change her wedding. Definitely sucks with so many people already booked! You would have to call each of your guests and explain the situation. Yikes sorry!

Hi Sarah! Welcome to the forum. Have you gotten approval from the resort for the floating beer pong table? My future-in-laws have one that we use all the time in Palm Springs. We want to order one and have it shipped down there but I dont want to spend the money then be told right away that we cant use it. Let me know! Also Carolina is my WC too and she is great

Thanks Ska for the advice! I definitely might do a trial run. I am lucky enough to have a sister who is a hair dresser so my hair will be taken care of.

Have any of you married DPC brides gotten your makeup done by the resort? I plan to but at the same time I dont want to worry about looking like a clown on my wedding day.

Hi Punchbuggiejen, I am doing the beach ceremony. If you have a Facebook account and become a fan of the Dream Punta Cana FB page you can see a ton of pics of beach ceremonys through the Fan photos. Hope that helps!
