  1. I think your destination is awesome! My fiance and I discussed getting married at Lake Tahoe (in the winter) before we decided on a summer wedding in the Dominican. I really like your ideas and think you're on the right track. You might still want to consider including aspirin for hangovers, band aids, or other hangover/first aid related items if you think you need more items. Also, a small bottle of lotion might be good since skin can get chapped in the cold weather. I love the mittens idea- so cute! The OOT bags can be as simple or extravagant as you want, your guests will love them no matter what...good luck!!

  2. Hi Marissa! Congrats and welcome to the forum. I'm sure you'll find a ton of info here about planning a DW in Cabo. Good luck and enjoy your planning!

  3. Congrats and welcome! I think you picked a great weekend for your wedding (the 12th is my bday!)...but you definitely found the right site to get your questions answered. Everyone on this site is super helpful and there's a ton of info. Good luck and enjoy your planning!!

  4. Welcome and congrats! There's so much helpful information here on the forum. I guess you might want to start by reading about the different resorts in the DR and Jamaica. Once you've narrowed your destination down the other details tend to fall into place. There's a ton of reviews and pics available and it's all sooo very addicting! Good luck and enjoy your planning!

  5. Hi Melissa! Congrats and welcome to the forum! You're in the right spot to learn more about the different resorts in Puerto Vallarta. There's a ton of reviews and pics to help you with your choice. Good luck and enjoy your planning!

  6. I've been trying to decide the same thing about our welcome letter/itinerary. I guess it really depends on how many guests you have coming and how much money you're willing to spend. I really like the idea of a postcard for your itinerary (I just might steal it). I was thinking about buying a box of blank cards and hand writing welcome letters/thank yous to our guests. I noticed you have about 55 people coming so that doesn't sound reasonable. I don't know about including all of the other info. Your FI is right, the hotel should provide that and I think most have that info in the rooms now.

I was going to look into Staples for professionally printing our itineraries, not sure if anyone else has done this either. I can't believe we're down to 2 months and have to make these decisions!!

I was very straight forward and told them that I wanted a destination wedding so that I could have my family and CLOSEST friends there and that I was sorry but I did not feel comfortable with people at the ceremony and dinner that weren't either one of these. They understood. Oh and by the way we also got about 10 people who RSVP that they were coming and at the end never came.
Did you have to pay for them?! I really thought no shows would be avoided with a DW. I really don't get some people...
  8. I've stalked this thread more times than I would like to admit and now I can finally share my shoes! I have to agree with many other posters, the shoes were almost as hard to find as the dress (if not harder). I was measured for a 4inch heel and most shoes I loved were 4inches plus a slight platform. The shoes are by Nina (love their shoes!) and are a 3 1/2inch heel with a slight platform. I was worried the flower might catch on my dress and be annoying but I walked around the bridal salon for a few mins and wasn't bothered at all. Plus they're super comfy!

  9. Welcome and congrats! St. Thomas is beautiful and such a great location for a DW. I've been to St. Thomas twice but only to go shopping or catch the ferry (we stayed in St. John). I'm sure you'll find a ton of helpful information on the forum. Good luck and enjoy your planning!

  10. Welcome and congrats! I think there are a few other grooms on here you can connect with it. I think it's great you're involved in the wedding planning. Your wish list sounds great but you might want to try to figure out your country first and then narrow it down from there. There's so much information on the forum to help you pick your destination. Good luck and enjoy your planning!

I've had people tell my FI that they definitely can't make it, but they still haven't RSVP'd as such on the website.

    Sigh.

Ohh I've got those too....my grandmother included! Ridiculous- just send back the freaking RSVP!!
