Welcome to the forum and congrats on your engagement! We're getting married in the Dominican Republic and booked our wedding about 10-11 months beforehand. I think if you're flexible about your date and really organized you can do it in less time but most of us wanted to give our guests enough time to save up for the trip. Good luck and enjoy your planning!

Totally agreed JesseLyn! I must be so excited to be on the beach with my drinks that I posted we're leaving Sunday when we actually leave early Monday morning!!

Today was our legal day and we're officially married. I really tried my best to keep it casual but it's starting to set in. We had to exchange rings (my FI gave me my e-ring and I gave him a ring he normally wears on his right hand). Now we just have to finish packing, pick up the place cards, and my final dress fitting is Friday! We leave Sunday!!

Wow this sucks! You definitely handled it well by refusing to change your date unless your are compensated. They should do something to help you especially in the day of BDW, TripAdvisor, and other sites where you can blast the resort for their poor organization and warn other b2bs considering this resort. I'm really sorry this happened to you...keep up the pressure on the resort and hopefully things will work out!

I'm walking down with my dad but that's because we have a really good relationship. If you don't want your dad to escort you, then you don't have to. I've read previous posts from other b2bs walking themselves down the aisle or having someone other than their fathers escort them. It's your wedding- do what makes you happy!

It's July 1st and our wedding month!! Stina- same problem here with guests dropping out or adding on last minute, so rude! Other than that it's 4th of July weekend and I'm not doing any wedding planning. Just hanging out at the beach, having drinks, and relaxing. I'll be back to reality on Tuesday and then I will finish packing and pick up our placecards.
