  1. When I did it, you couldn't get stuff through the website. You were assigned a wedding coordinator. I got the majority of things ahead of time because I read a review that said she tried to get flowers when she got down there and they didn't have what she wanted. Email me if you have any specific questions. I don't check this website very often since the wedding was so long ago: [email protected]
  2. I wrote about the flowers i used on my blog. Here is a link to the post: http://lachapstickfanatique.blogspot.com/2010/10/flower-options-at-beaches-negril.html'>http://lachapstickfanatique.blogspot.com/2010/10/flower-options-at-beaches-negril.html I also did many more posts about my wedding experience. I would just click on the "weddings" tag and browse through. I did some reviews of the wedding coordinators and a summary of my wedding day in a few posts. http://lachapstickfanatique.blogspot.com
  3. I got them from here: http://www.ingreetings.com/onwholortot.html We got the 13x13 ones for $0.79. The color is ocean blue. They are very lightweight and not very "canvasy" but they worked perfect for what we needed. And some people really did use them for the beach to put a book in an what not.
  4. Yea, although the one of the points of this wedding was lower cost, I am so glad we splurged on the flowers. They turned out great! Also, I told her no bows with the ribbon on the bouquet (had seen this in other people's pictures). I told her I just wanted it wrapped.
  5. congratulations!! i will be reviewing my wedding experience on my blog http://lachapstickfanatique.blogspot.com. You really have nothing to worry about! They are awesome down there!
  6. The bridesmaids bouquets (with shells and orchids) were $165. They were definitely smaller but I thought they were perfect for a bridesmaid bouquet and they wouldn't be too small for a bridal bouquet. And they were beautiful! Mine was $225 with gladiolas and orchids.
  7. I had my wedding a few weeks ago. I just wanted to let you all know that I will be reviewing my experience (which was awesome!!) on my blog http://lachapstickfanatique.blogspot.com/ over the next few weeks. I wanted to be able to use a lot of pictures and talk about each aspect specifically which is more difficult to do on here. So please stop by and I can answer any questions you need!!!!
  8. I ended up having Simone in Negril. She was awesome!!! I had my wedding on October 16, 2010. 9. I ended up getting the $2000. Our photographer was really on top of things. The only thing that is annoying is that you only get raw images - they are not allowed to edit. But I just bought photoshop and will just do them myself.
  10. I just broke down and got the cheapest floral centerpieces. I talked about it on my blog http://lachapstickfanatique.blogspot.com

  13. Hello Everyone! Â I was wondering if you could help me out. I have decided to upgrade my bouquet but I am still trying to decide if I am going to get bouquets for my bridesmaids (right now our other idea is parasols). I am just having a hard time paying for something I haven't seen. The WC doesn't have anything to show me. I was wondering if anyone had pictures of the following (descriptions from the WC): Â For the bridal bouquet: "(5) White Cymbidium Orchid Blooms and (5) Gladiola Stems $225.00 ea" Â For the bridesmaid bouquet: - "3 Stems of Magenta or White Dendrobioum Orchids" (we would go with white) - "15 Stems of Roses - Colors are White, Red, Lilac, Yellow or Orange" (again, white) - "1 Stem (4 Blooms) of white cymbidium orchids intermingled with 5 medium shells with 5 Green Leaves" (very curious how this looks) - "15 Mini Calla Lillies" (in white) Â Thanks!! Â I guess if you have any pictures of bouquets and centerpieces that may help other future Beaches Negril brides post those too with the description you were given!!
  14. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING YOUR PICTURES! I definitely prefer more photojournalistc pictures and this was the only thing I was worried about. They aren't exactly my style but they are still so beautiful and turned out well. I hope this doesn't creep you out but I actually started tearing up. You looked very beautiful. I think I am going to request your photographer.
  15. I am getting married at Beaches Negril in Jamaica and yes they are way over charging. Does anyone have any creative ideas that aren't too heavy to put in our luggage (since we are also traveling with the OOT bags)?? I am a real DIYer so if I have to put stuff together down there that is fine.
  16. Beaches Negril has a new policy. Unless you are willing (or can afford) to pay for three nights for your wedding photographer, you cannot bring one in. We can't afford to do that plus the cost of the photographers services too. One of our reasons for a DW was to keep it affordable. So I guess I will have to use the resort photographer. I am really upset about it because I found a Jamaican photographer I really liked but I guess it is what it is. I really think I will just want the images on a CD since they dont seem like they are artfully edited. I can just buy photoshop and edit them myself. I guess I have a few questions: 1. Can you wait to book a photographer until you get down there? I have a phone appt with my WC in Miami tomorrow and I have a feeling she is going to try and push a package. Why would I pay for something without seeing samples of their work first? 2. How long can you have the photographer for? 3. Has anyone done a trash the dress session with the resort photgrapher? 4. What has been everyone's experiences with the resort photographers there? Anyone have pictures? Thank you so much!!
  17. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I am getting married there in October and I had so many questions - almost all of which were answered by you. The only thing I am still a little worried about is that Beaches changed their policy on outside photographers - you can only bring in an outside photographer if you book them for three nights. That's out of our budget so I guess I am going with the resort photographer. Did the resort photographer take any pictures for you? I was thinking I would just get them all digital and then edit them if needed on my Mac.
  18. hi sherric80 - how many hours did you have your photographer for? could you get getting ready pictures too?
  19. Is it possible for the free wedding package to get green orchids as your bouquet instead of purple?
  20. Thank you so much for answering my questions. You are all fabulous!
  21. Hello, I am getting married on October 16th 2010 at Beaches Negril. I really wanted to hire Sun Gold Photography but Beaches has a new policy that you can only bring in outside photographers if you book them a room for three nights minimum which is way out of our budget. Otherwise, they will be escorted off the premises. I am really upset about this. I actually want to see my photographers work and make sure I really like who I will be working with. Can anyone tell me about their experience with the resort photographer there and if you actually get to see their work prior and get to pick the actual person instead of just the package? Are the prints and digital pictures artistically edited. Or are they just raw images? It would be really great if anyone has pictures they could share too. Thank you!
  22. Hello! My name is Morgan and we just finalized our wedding for the Beaches Negril Resort and Spa in Negril, Jamaica on October 16, 2010. We are so excited! Any helpful information that anyone could give me about getting married there would be awesome! Thanks, Morgan
  23. Hello! I will be booking Beaches Negril hopefully for october 2010. I have A LOT of questions! Haha. 1. We will probably have about 40 people coming and we are trying to make this as inexpensive as possible. Do we have to pay for a private reception or can we just make a reservation for our group in one of the restaurants? I saw online that someone had about 60 guests and were able to rent the Selville restaurant for about 400 dollars and also got a DJ. 2. Did anyone use a DJ? How much was he? Did you bring a CD for him? 3. Can you bring in an outside photographer? i found a photographer that I love. Is there a fee? 4. Did anyone use their videographer? 5. Did anyone get married at the gazebo or garden? 6. I also read that if you book more than 10 rooms you get a rehearsal dinner for free. Is this true? 7. Did anyone pay for a cocktail hour? Is there a bar that is big enough for us to all go to in between dinner? I am sure I will have more questions. Thank you to anyone who can answer my questions!
