  1. Hi Ladies, I posted a bunch of pics of our November 13, 2010 at The Jellyfish on their Facebook page.Ours is the wedding with all of the blues. It was the best decision we made to move our Wedding there. We could not have been any more thrilled with how everything looked, tasted and how well our guests were treated. It is an amazing place!!
  2. We were married in November in Dominican Republic and we are having our AHR in January. I am wearing my dress. The Bridesmaids wanted to wear theirs. The Groom and the Groomsmen are going to wear dark suits and we are buying them all matching ties. The Groom felt that it would be too cold in NY for the guys to wear their linen shirts. We cannot wait for the party!!
  3. Hi, We stayed at the MC with our 40 guests in November. We were really not impressed at all with the weddings that we had seen at the MC and had already had dinner at the Steakhouse twice during our stay and had the buffet there every day for either lunch or dinner so we definitely did not want a wedding dinner there. We did see one dinner there and they were in the dark and it did not seem private at all to us. We ended up having our ceremony and reception at the Jellyfish Restaurant and it was the best decision that we ever made. We went there to meet with Mayte and see the site and ended up staying for hours trying all of the food and just falling in love with everything about it there. The food and staff are completely AMAZING. Our wedding day was everything that we could have hoped for. The ceremony was stunning and the reception was so much fun!! There was no ridiculous rules, no one was making us end our party at 11pm and we were not in a huge restaurant with a bunch of strangers. Their attention to detail and how much they care about you and all of your guests is top notch. There is no detail that is over-looked. They personaly make sure that every single guest has everything that they need. I cant say enough about our experience there. The MC was a perfect place for our guests to spend the week and we had a tremendous time there. But the wedding department was mediocre at best and we found that the prices were outrageous for what they were offering. I posted a bunch of our wedding pics on the jellyfish facebook page. I would also be happy to post them but I am not sure how to do it. The price came about the same as the MC when it was all done and it was definitely money well spent.
  4. I am putting my OOT Bags together and wanted to attach cute tags to my celophane bags but really am not coming up with anything too fun to put on the tags. First I wanted to tag the beach towels I am giving. Then I have a bag of things to do/play with - deck of cards, beachball, hackeysack, dice etc... One bag is sponge, comb, hair clips, compact, tissues and wipes. One bag is the advil, pepto, cacao butter, metamucil, etc. And I have a candle. Thanks!!!
  5. Hi. I am getting married there in November and I am bringing very little down with me. They do it all.
  6. Wow. Those really are great room rates for that time. We will be honeymooning there November 15 through November 20th. Such a fantastic place.
  7. I too was going with the Majestic and have moved over to the Jellyfish. I was so aggrevated and felt totally ripped off. At Jellyfish I know exactly what I am getting and how much I am paying for it. So relieved by their enthusiasm and involvement in our wedding. Very much not like the MC.
  8. I love them!! This is exactly what I sent my resort as my inspiration pic for my wedding next month want to do for my AHR except I want to dye the water blue!! I plan to have white orchids and maybe three sized vases per table (deciding if that is really necessay). Â The venue in Punta Cana is taking care of all of this for me but I am hoping to do all of this myself for the AHR. I hope it is not too much to take on because we are expecting about 175 people. Just very nervous not to hire a florist but what a total waste of money. Â Thanks for making this gorgeous centerpiece a reality!
  9. Hi, I am wondering how everyone is having their marriage recognized by the church? I spoke with our church and they agreed that we can get married in the church as long as we have a symbolic beach wedding. Â I was even fortunate enough to book the Church for the day of our AHR which is very convenient. Â This is fine except there is going to be two months between the ceremonies and I feel a little funny about not being "legally" married for those two months. Â What is everyone else doing??
  10. Thats so nice to have that option. We could have a dinner included with our wedding package but it is not totally private and no "party" at all. We are totally there to dance! That's why we like the Jellyfish option so much.
  11. Where can you have a reception for $750? Our resort is crushing us!! We are looking at thousands! I am so happy to move it over to the jellyfish.
  12. My WC/TA is checking out the bus company with the Dominican Republic Dept of Tourism to make sure that they are legit, insured and come recommended. I will let you know if I hear anything.
  13. [email protected] Mayte is usually very prompt in getting back to you. She really seems wonderful so far. It is $1000 to have the entire place to yourselves. And then they have a brochure that they break down all of the pricing in. Mayte can send it right over to you or I can PM it to you.
  14. The Majestic Colonial also has a Catholic Chapel on the Resort and the WCs there book the same priest to come and marry you. The chapel looks super cute but it only holds 40 people.
