I've been packing and getting everything together which is why I haven't been on here in a week but we're pretty much ready to go. I forgot to take pictures of everything for my planning thread before I packed it so I guess I'll take pictures in Mexico when we unpack.
Adios Ladies!!!! I'll definitely post some info when I get back.
BTW: Amybermuda I loved, loved, loved your pics!!!!!
Congratulations MRS!!!!!! Have a FAB FAB FAB trip and we'll all be here anxiously awaiting your return!!

Nice!! That's some good news to brighten your day!

Amanda, you put up a picture!!!! It's nice to put a face to the name

I think this is best done once you're down there and can see the layout. They shouldn't need to know ahead of time.
LOL, Hiya Marci! Glad to know your name

I heard about mine through our DW.com TA. But, I know that BDW's TAs post when they're having one. Keep an eye out on the main forum page for the announcement. It's usually at the bottom of the page (lol, well on the old forum it was at the bottom).

Did you take pictures? Did they come to your room? Did you have a run through before the wedding?
Sorry for so many questions but can't seem to find anyone that has used the hotel.
Thanks

I did and my stylist was Monica. I loved her! I brought inspiration pics and she did an amazing job. You can read more details in my review under my siggy. (Don't worry about the fact that I was married at AB. Monica works at AS as well)

Guess it's going to take some getting used to. Anyone else freaked out? heehee.
Hey... my pic is gone too. It took me FOREVER to get that in place!
YES!!! I am finding this extremely challenging. I'm sure I'll get used to it but right now it's frustrating. And I agree with BigBop and Chong that it SUCKS that now we can't see people's wedding dates and other info.

I tried theknot's forums a couple times and found them to be very difficult and not user-friendly. LOL then again, I thought that about this one when I first joined!
Soooo pretty!!!
Speaking of attachments, sorry Maggie, I can't see your monogram either.

Again, no random twigs sticking out if I go with these and also less bright green filler, more garden green. And a gold ribbon tying them all together.

The other ladies are right, going back and reading through the thread will probably answer many of your initial questions. Also, make sure you have a great TA! -

Ooooh, and I see from your pics that you guys stayed in the Suite. Niiiice!!! Did you stay there the whole time or just for a few nights? -

For the shorts thing, we posted a blurb on our website about appropriate attire for the wedding. It was necessary or some of the men would have worn shorts. It worked because everyone looked great! Most people chose to wear colors in the wedding color scheme and those that didn't wore very complimentary colors. It really made a difference in all the pictures!
Quote:Originally Posted by amybermuda Hi Ladies! Before I go back and read what's been going on, I wanted to write you to say I just had super fun AHR! It was record breaking heat and record breaking bay bridge traffic - so people were 1+ hours late getting there and we were outside in 100+ degree heat. Let me tell you... If that was my wedding I would have been a stress case. and you know what? THANK GOD I DID A DW!!! All the stress and stupid crap we encounter dealing with family and travel issues, Miami coordinators, Lomas, then going through the hotel staff - yes I know its hard - but my wedding in Mexico was stress free and carefree and awesome. Saturday solidified my destination wedding choice that much more. I mean, 1/2 my guests would have missed my ceremony had we been having a traditional wedding on Saturday.
I only have a few pictures of the party - I'll do a review later once I get the better pix.
Picasa Web Albums - Amy - Stateside Rec...
The after party was a bit insane.... hehe
Hope you all had a great weekend!!
I COMPLETELY agree with you about the AHR validating the DW (as if we needed to validate our fabulous weddings . We spent the days leading up to our AHR running around in a frenzy with a house full of guests. The morning of was CRAZY stressful trying to get everything done and everyone where they needed to be on time. DH and I looked at each other and agreed that people must be insane to not have a DW wedding since that was how many couples spend the morning of their weddings. I cannot imagine having spent mine that way. I was swimming in the ocean the morning of mine and I don't think it should be any other way! -

I have attached the picture here... the tag says "Instead of tapping on your glass, here is a system with Mexican Class. Stand and shake with all your might to see the groom kiss his bride tonight." I copied it from one of the brides here. I thought it was super cute. You can even get small donkeys and pinatas. My FI wasn't crazy about the donkeys or pinatas but it's sooo cute.

FYI for the AB brides, there are no towel cards at AB. You just take one when you want it. No limits.
I can't remember who asked (Bipbop maybe?) about buying OOT stuff in Mexico. We went into Puerto Morelos 3 times while we were there and each time was about a 10 minute drive. It's probably 5 min. just to get back out to the highway from the resort. PM does have some souvenirs but really not that much to speak of. I've heard of other girls buying local things for their OOT bags in Cancun/Playa, and they've found things like maracas, chocolates, local cookies, etc. I don't remember seeing anything like that in PM. -
Wow, ladies, 3 days gone and 15 pages to read!!!
HAPPY BELATED to all the birthday ladies out there!

I bought one and brought it to my first fitting, but once I put it on, my seamstress and I quickly agreed I shouldn't use it. My dress was so unforgiving in having any extra room that that teeny extra layer made the dress fit that much tighter--i.e. too tight! I'm glad it worked out that way because I would have been melting with that on underneath!
Quote:TOTALLY NORMAL to be freaking out and feel overwhelmed with 2.5 months to go. Things really kick into high gear at about the 3 month mark and then it's full steam ahead until you get on that plane.
Well, there's the wonderful, awesome giddy, on-top-of-the-world stage that Lindz is in right now. I really like that stage and waiting for that to kick in is definitely worth waiting for!

Speaking of your invites, love them!!! They're very classy and bright. Did you go with the colors shown on Etsy or customize your own?
LOVE!!! Wow, good job I searched and searched for a local calligrapher to do our envelopes and never found one. I never even thought to look on Etsy! Yours are so beautiful! -
Thanks Lindz! It's almost your turn!!!!
Yaaaaaaaaael!! Hey stranger! Thanks for popping in and saying hello. And a great big THANK YOU for all your pre-wedding help. You were absolutely right, AB was fantastic!

Since all the planning for both goes through the same Miami office, a lot of the wedding details are the same for both resorts.
Hooray, your wedding is so soon!! -

Amanda, that is really fun story!! I bet you had a good time that night!
Meredith, to qualify for the room upgrade all you should have to do is participate in the Webinar. Unless the rules have changed since we did it.
