Adios Ladies!!!!  I'll definitely post some info when I get back.

I did and my stylist was Monica.  I loved her!  I brought inspiration pics and she did an amazing job.  You can read more details in my review under my siggy.  (Don't worry about the fact that I was married at AB.  Monica works at AS as well)

Your flowers are going to be gorgeous!!! I really like these, especially since you're going for a more muted effect. The others are really pretty as well but they'll stand out more.

We will have over 15 rooms booked. Have any of you received discounts for travelers for booking so many rooms?

I know that if we book at least 15 rooms we stay for free, but I feel like a discount should be offered to our families?

Any insight would be helpful, I have nooooo idea what I am doing :)

    Thx,

LOOOOOOOOOOVE!!!!! You have every right to be obsessive, these are fabulous!!!! I bet you get nothing done at work tomorrow b/c you're looking at your pics all day :) You're gorgeous, your flowers are gorgeous, your guests are gorgeous, it was a beautiful day, and it looks like you all had a great time on the Terrace! Your cake beat the heck out of mine!!! It's funny, after all this time, I didn't realize we both had shades of pink and orange as our colors.

Ooooh, and I see from your pics that you guys stayed in the Suite. Niiiice!!! Did you stay there the whole time or just for a few nights?

I didn't want anything tropical and then it would be all eyes on her in every picture. So I feel sort of bad but since no one is helping me with anything or asking me about the things I'm choosing, including her, I've decided to not feel bad. After all she's wearing the exact same dress just in a different color. (Green, my fav! ) Now, I just need to convey to guests that shorts are not appropriate for the ceremony.
Oh no, don't feel bad at all about this! You're paying a lot of money for your wedding, especially for your pictures. If your mom were to have stayed with her original dress, everyone's eyes would instantly find her in the pictures instead of you. I think a bride has every right to dictate the attire, especially when it's their mom.

For the shorts thing, we posted a blurb on our website about appropriate attire for the wedding. It was necessary or some of the men would have worn shorts. It worked because everyone looked great! Most people chose to wear colors in the wedding color scheme and those that didn't wore very complimentary colors. It really made a difference in all the pictures!

If that was my wedding I would have been a stress case. and you know what? THANK GOD I DID A DW!!! All the stress and stupid crap we encounter dealing with family and travel issues, Miami coordinators, Lomas, then going through the hotel staff - yes I know its hard - but my wedding in Mexico was stress free and carefree and awesome. Saturday solidified my destination wedding choice that much more. I mean, 1/2 my guests would have missed my ceremony had we been having a traditional wedding on Saturday.

I agree with Amanda, for 100+ degree heat and high humidity, everyone looks great!! You can't tell at all. You especially look really good. You still have that bridal glow :) Congrats on a successful AHR!!!

I COMPLETELY agree with you about the AHR validating the DW (as if we needed to validate our fabulous weddings wink.gif. We spent the days leading up to our AHR running around in a frenzy with a house full of guests. The morning of was CRAZY stressful trying to get everything done and everyone where they needed to be on time. DH and I looked at each other and agreed that people must be insane to not have a DW wedding since that was how many couples spend the morning of their weddings. I cannot imagine having spent mine that way. I was swimming in the ocean the morning of mine and I don't think it should be any other way!

Haha, I am the EXACT same way about the sand! People thought I was crazy having a DW and not wanting to get married on the sand. I was really adamant about it. I can take it if I'm swimming or just chilling, but the thought of having it all over me and under my dress on my wedding day was more than I could bear.

I can't remember who asked this originally but my only experience with a taxi was taking one from PM back to AB. I think it cost us about $10. But AB is about 5 min. closer to the main road than AS.

We figure we'll get basic shots with them..and we'll have friends and family taking some too..it should be fine.
Then maybe when we get home..we can hire a local photog and do a TTD here...more cost effective and another excuse to wear my dress :)
Doing a TTD back home is such a good idea!!! It'll be fun to have pics of you in your dress in your hometown.

These maracas are great! We used them as well and had them on all our reception tables. Just some FYI about them though: 1) they come with a really, really strong chemical smell so make sure you unpack them and let them breath for a while, and 2) the paint on them is rather fragile. Even though we packed them in a bunch of newspaper in a suitcase, they got banged up and the paint chipped.

Yes, for sure TTD in PM!! Andrew's right, there really are some sweet spots. We went to all kinds of places on all sides of town and got some amazing shots out of it. Since you're bringing your photog with you, he/she should definitely scope out the town ahead of time to find the gems.

They do, like Nicole said they give you a towel card and you can get 2 towels a day I think but you have to return them. They charge you like $30 a towel if you don’t return them one of my guests found out. I never used the towel card, I had a swim up suite and just never left the pool, it was too hot to care about a towel and especially when I could just swim back to my room :)

Well, I had plans to get some local snacks and whatnot when I got to Mexico. Upon arrival you’ll notice that you are literally in the smallest town ever and really in the middle of nowhere. They turn off the main road and drive into the forest and there’s the resort, literally is in the middle of forest. I couldn’t even tell you where the closest vendor or market is. If you wanted to head to Cancun, it’s close to a 25-30 minute drive you could hire a van to take you into town which you could do there easily. I would say nothing is walking distance from the hotel, so don’t plan on hiking it anywhere, LOL :)

Introducing DH as "my husband" to someone still feels really strange. I do a double-take in my brain every time I do it or refer to him in conversation that way.

FYI for the AB brides, there are no towel cards at AB. You just take one when you want it. No limits.

I can't remember who asked (Bipbop maybe?) about buying OOT stuff in Mexico. We went into Puerto Morelos 3 times while we were there and each time was about a 10 minute drive. It's probably 5 min. just to get back out to the highway from the resort. PM does have some souvenirs but really not that much to speak of. I've heard of other girls buying local things for their OOT bags in Cancun/Playa, and they've found things like maracas, chocolates, local cookies, etc. I don't remember seeing anything like that in PM.

I know a lot of ladies have already commented on this, but Spanx should not cost you $200. That's just crazy. I've used both Spanx and Dr. Rey Shapewear. I really like the Dr. Rey!

Since my dress was so form-fitting, the salon recommended I wear a slimmer underneath to smooth everything out. I bought one and brought it to my first fitting, but once I put it on, my seamstress and I quickly agreed I shouldn't use it. My dress was so unforgiving in having any extra room that that teeny extra layer made the dress fit that much tighter--i.e. too tight! I'm glad it worked out that way because I would have been melting with that on underneath!

TOTALLY NORMAL to be freaking out and feel overwhelmed with 2.5 months to go. Things really kick into high gear at about the 3 month mark and then it's full steam ahead until you get on that plane.

We brought our own and I second what everyone else says: you get so much bang for your buck when you do it that way. We got 12 hours on the wedding day plus a full afternoon TTD session the day after, all for less than one of their photogs (well, maybe not less than Caribe). Ours would have shot more if we'd wanted him to, e.g. rehearsal, excursion, etc.

Of the two resort photogs, Matias Cano seems to be the less standard and traditional of the two, but he doesn't come cheap.

Glad everyone who hasn't heard of it is going to try Old Bay. I love it on baked potatoes and chicken too. I've found it in NC, MA, and now Bermuda so I am sure New Orleans has it somewhere! Its the best on shrimp too - I even add it to tuna salad. :-)

Don't stress yourself out to much! Most people will just be thrilled to see your wedding invitation, and as long as it as all the info, you're good to go!
I second this, Meredith. Simple is good! Truly, the only people who will notice the wording on your invites is you and FI. Most people just admire the overall look of the invite as a whole and don't pay attention to the wording. We spent sooo much time trying out different wording when we probably should have been doing something else!

Speaking of your invites, love them!!! They're very classy and bright. Did you go with the colors shown on Etsy or customize your own?

Welcome Spicytuna! Since all us AB brides lost our own thread a while back, the few of us that are on BDW hang out on the Azul Sensatori thread:

    http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo.../index886.html

Since all the planning for both goes through the same Miami office, a lot of the wedding details are the same for both resorts.

Hooray, your wedding is so soon!! thewave.gif

Man, I would be clueless if I had to plan a bachlorette. I love it that you have a niche for doing them!

$9 invites!... smile120.gif Glad it made him pay attention!

Are you looking to stay with Mexican photogs or bring someone with you?

And if your like me you always crave a snack before bed lol, def dont eat before you go to bed.
To me this seems counter intuitive, but actually research shows that the time of day you eat has no bearing on weight gain. If you're craving something before bed then have it. But agreed on all points that never starving yourself, snacking throughout the day so you don't feel deprived, and exercise are all the way to go.

I like the 1st one better but we'll probably use the second for chapsticks and things like that.
I like them both too! Nice job!

While my DH didn't plan anything himself, he gave a lot of input. I would narrow down our options and he would make the final decisions: dinner menu, wedding invitation and AHR invitation wording, photographer (we chose this together), song lists, excursions, etc. I loved it that he actually had opinions and would have gone crazy deciding between things without his input. He was really helpful with the AHR. Since it was local that involved a lot of phone calls and reservations. I gave him those jobs.

For Example: Donkey with a beer, Donkey on a random strangers chair while they are sunbathing, donkey at dinner, Donkey with the live donkey etc etc. The everyone will send us their pics after we all get back and we will crown a winner. Again His idea and I thought it might entertain people and they could have some fun with it. AHHH my FI cracks me up sometimes.
I love this idea!!!! So fun and unique! I would totally get into this if I were one of your guests.
