  1. diana, wow, that's not cheap! pretty much the same amount as a day pass, huh? thanks for the info! i'll have to dig around in my information to verify.
  2. i leave in less than 24 hours and have still never heard from my onsite WC (i've sent her 3 e-mails). after dealing with angie in michigan, this seems like a sad continuation. on a happier note, i got a call from a friend yesterday and she and her hubby are able to come to the wedding on saturday! they will not be staying at the resort. do i need a day pass for them just to come to the ceremony and reception? ceremony is at 6, reception is following about an hour after.
  3. congrats and welcome back! i'll be watching for pictures!

  5. ha, FI had some time with the guys when i had my bachelorette. on his way out, i told him "no naked ladies!" he just laughed. he and his buddies just spent the whole night at their normal hang-out. not even anything special! boys...

There are little commercials during the wedding, but you don't miss any of it, it just pauses the recording plays a 30 sec. commercial and then carries on with the recording. That part is annoying, but I figure it's better than nothing for those who can't be there and want to see it! we're all keeping our fingers crossed for good weather. good news is that the rain usually passes through quite quickly, so let's hope for at least good timing, even if it does end up raining on our days! thanks so much for that link. i'm planning on bringing my laptop, which has a camera. it's a work computer, and i think the camera might be disabled, but i'll check into my options. thank you!
  7. does anyone know which section of beach is shown in the gran porto's webcam? i have family (who can't attend) who is wondering if they'll be able to see us there. odds are very low, i'm sure, but figured i'd look into it...?

  9. wow, it was a quiet weekend here! unbelievable! we must all be crazy (read: out of our minds!) busy with all the last-minute things. i'm tackling a long list of to-do items today. tomorrow is full of hair appointments, nail appointments, and packing. we leave on wednesday morning!

FI has to work all day and tomorrow, but at least he's in town! then we're off early on wednesday morning - 4:30am pickup at our house. yikes - i wonder if i'll sleep at all... a drink would be fun. i'll send you a PM.

  14. congrats kimmy, and welcome back! thanks for posting all that information. good to know. denys is my WC too, but i haven't heard from her yet - yikes!! we leave early on wednesday morning, and i still have a to-do list that's a mile long!
  15. thanks for the maps rosie posie! looks like this is of the royal - anyone have something for the gran porto, by chance? and thanks lisa for the sunset info. looks like it'll be an hour and 15 minutes after my ceremony starts... hoping for that beautiful golden light!
  16. i know i posted a while ago about finding a resort map for the gran porto. i haven't been able to find one. my michigan WC ignored my request and my onsite WC hasn't gotten contacted me, despite the fact that i've sent her two e-mails. does anyone have a map you can share? thanks!

FI loves playa and it'll be difficult to get him to vacation anywhere else! i think our next big trip, though, will be to napa or sonoma for a little time in wine country. and he's already talking about taking me to europe for my 35th (just working on 33 this year). so maybe we'll be just fine. can't wait to explore the world with my soon to be hubby!

  20. thanks, ladies. and i DID remember to take off the band before work today! (i miss it.) lady di - we don't leave until wednesday. i just need the time to get things done. we'll be there from the 12th-22nd. FI and i are getting pretty darned excited! he was even looking forward to guacamole yesterday... at 9:30am!
  21. good progress made tonight! i picked up some silk flowers and made corsages for the moms, and made little flower decorations for the tiki torches for the reception. feeling so crafty! i also picked up my wedding band (the RIGHT one this time, hooray!!) and my e-ring after being polished. confession: i've been wearing both rings all night (FI is away on a business trip and no one can tell me to take it off, hee hee!). and i'll likely sleep with them on. just hope i remember to take off the wedding band before going to work tomorrow!! my last day of work before 2 weeks of PTO! g'nite, all...

Does anyone know of any jewelers that work with pink or rose gold? I really wanted a rose gold ring but haven't found any that were of a good quality. the designer of my ring, Simon G. uses a lot of mixed color gold in his rings, including rose gold. i don't know of any particular jewelers in your area, but i do know that people order from all over with arthur's jewelers here in MN. they have a ton of stuff on their website. good luck!
