  1. 515.9 + 5.5 = 521.4 I used to contribute long ago, but stopped. I ranked up a lot of miles preparing for the Half-Marathon I did in March, now I'm starting back up to prepare for the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco in October.

I kind of want to because I can add text...we shall see. The lady who did mine allowed me to add text to my book, so I added a poem that I had written for him before we got married. Luckily, he still had it in his papers from basic training! She also allowed me to put a title on the front cover too, so I put "Softest Place On Earth", which is the first song I ever sang to him while we were dating. At first, I wanted to do my own book, but it was either pay $100 for the pics or $150 for the photobook...lol. I took the lazy way out!
  3. SAWRAH!!! I am not mad at those pics!! I'm sure when he sees these pics, his mouth will DROP!!
  4. I just let the photographer do my BD Book, it was a 11"x8" Hard cover photo book. It was 30 pages with 55 photos. I actually just got it in the mail last weekend.
  5. FYI for those looking for linen suits for young boys.. I found an etsy seller (finehandmadeclothing) who makes linen suits for boys (vest and pants) and it's cheaper than studiosuits.com since they wanted to charge the same price for a suit for a toddler as a suit for a grown man. My husband and his groomsmen are wearing the Natural Linen Suits, and the seller had 2 shades of ivory (light and dark) and I chose light to sort of match the other linen suits, so I'll post pictures of the suit when I get it, for those interested! Oatmeal Linen Pants and waistcoat/vest Set by finehandmadeclothing
  6. For those interested in linen suits for little boys, StudioSuits.com said that they would charge the same for a suit for a toddler as they would a grown man, so I found an etsy merchant who is doing an ivory linen suit (vest and pants) for my son (17mths), so I'll let ya'll know how that goes when I receive it!
  7. Thanks! I decided to just wet it with some product, but in the end I think it was still a little Foxy Brown, but the photographer and make-up artist loved it! I can't wait to see the pictures!
  8. Uhmm.. usually I just have my hair in 2 braids that go to the back because I've been running alot since I'm training for a half-marathon. I would say that some of my hair is curly in the front and the curls get smaller as they go to the back, and for some reason I have strays of straight hair if I let it air dry, so it would look like a shortish curly fro. But if I take my braids out right now, it will be kinda straight, where I can where a HUGE fro'.
  9. Hello ladies, I am looking for some advice. I have a BD shoot this friday and since I have natural hair, I'm looking for suggestions on how to wear it.

    Hi

    Welcome to BDW!
  11. I used it to just start my weight-loss, now I'm to training for a half-marathon. I used the podrunners intervals instead, but it was essentially the same program.
  12. I have vonage world which is $24.99 a month where calling the Bahamas is included.
  13. I agree, my bridesmaids are ordering their dresses from Alfred Angelo in "claret" and bought them matching flipflops from dessy.com. I also bought the duchess satin ties and duchess satin pocket squares for the groom and groomsmen from there too. (ivory for groom, claret for groomsmen)

I did the same for his thigh measurements, where instead of entering his exact measurement, they allow you to enter the measurement that you want. His only complaint was that the waist measurement was too exact. He has two suits Natural Linen and Beige Linen and still hasn't chosen which one he liked so that I can order the groomsmens suits.
  15. Great Information! I really like the idea of a sunset cruise! I wish I knew how many people were coming so I could book it!
  16. Hi Melanie, Welcome to BDW!!! I'm having my vow renewal in Nassau, Bahamas on July 3!
  17. My husband went with Semi-baggy, and he has that lineman football player build.
  18. My husband's 2nd linen suit is supposed to arrive Wednesday! He loved the first one in Biege Linen so much that he wanted one in the Natural Linen, but doesn't know which one he will wear for the vow renewal... it's my fault.. I have him a choice. After I make sure this is it for him, I can pass on my swatches.

  20. It wouldn't be so bad if this wasn't the part of the family that I grew up with. I spent summers in Louisiana with them since I was potty-trained, and when I went to undergrad in Louisiana, I was there almost every weekend. They were the closest family I had. My dad was barely around so visiting his side of the family was rare, so all we did was visit with my mom's family. But, I will continue to take the high road, and send them the invites.. I guess I can kill them with kindness.. It will be an awkward visit when we go down for spring break in March. Thanks Ladies!
  21. First of all, when we first sent out our save-the-dates, only my mom's side of the family had an issue with it, even her. They suggested that we have our wedding in Baton Rouge, LA instead of on the beaches of the Bahamas next to the ocean, so that "all" of our family could attend, which means, my husband and I pay for all of these people who barely know us at all to eat and have fun on our dime. Then my mom proclaimed that NOONE on her side of the family is coming, but my uncle, her youngest brother, intends to go. Then, after she found out that my dad's sister plans to go, she now says she might go, since she is going. Then she found out that we are paying for my FIL to go to the Bahamas, because he is on social security and can't afford to go on his own, and he raised my husband by himself since he was a baby, and he is going to watch our son while in the Bahamas. She said whatever we do for one side of the family we should do for the other. Then she said if we paid for her to go, she MIGHT go, even though she is a software engineer and a Mercedes is only ONE of her vehicles. Honestly, my mom gets on my nerves and at times, I can't stand her at all, and I barely talk to her due to her selfishness and negativity. For instance, I had been overweight almost all my life, so after I had my son, I decided to lose the baby weight as well as the extra weight from before the pregnancy. So, I called myself being nice to send her a picture of me and my son, at this point I had lost 50lbs, and the first thing she said was that my face looked saggy and that I needed to tone it up. My face was nowhere saggy as a matter of fact, at 26 I still get carded for NyQuil because they think I'm under 18. When I went down in October, the only comment she made was that I waited until I grew up to lose the weight. So now, my younger brother went down to Louisiana for Christmas, while my husband and I stayed home in Arizona for the Holidays. Apparently, my mom's side of the family intends to go to Orlando, FL on Memorial Day weekend instead of coming to the Bahamas for my vow renewal. He said that they went around the room at my Grandmother's house to see who intended to go to Orlando rather than the Bahamas, and out of the room it was my uncle, same uncle, and my younger brother, even my MOM was going to Orlando. My younger brother told me a couple of days ago that my mom decided she was going after my grandmother, her mother, told her that it would be wrong for her not to go. I honestly don't want her to come anymore. Now, I'm contemplating not even sending them an invite. Why send them an invite that I'm spend my time and money, to design and put together these pocketfold invites knowing they have no intention of going? I even spent my time to find 3 cruises that dock in Nassau, Bahamas the same day as the wedding for those who would prefer that and one even leaves out of Orlando, FL. They haven't even told me themselves that they don't plant to go.

  23. LOL! I'm just using the Brochure from Nassau, Bahamas & Paradise Island, Bahamas Official Tourism Guide and retyping certain parts and copying over the pictures into my own template so that I can add to it... With school, work, and baby.. I have to work in spurts! lol
  24. Thanks! I'm working on my pre-departure newsletter and I didn't even think about this until my younger brother asked me!
  25. My family and my bridal party are spending a week in the Bahamas, and one of those days we wanted to visit Atlantis. From what I googled, there is no "day pass" you have to essentially "rent" a room for a day to get access. Is that right?
