  1. I too have been a little stressed after reading some of the negative reviews about the change in WC. However I havent made any set plans for the ceremony, reception and flower, or extra yet. We are still about 3 months away from our date. I am hoping that within the next month i will be able to start planning that. Past brides...when the WC contacts u, to start putting together actual details about the ceremony, reception and flower and such, is there some kinda formal form u fill out so that they know everything that you want, or is just via emails back and forth, just shooting off what you want? I just want to feel secure that they are recording my requests, as i send them through email...any insight is much appreciated
  2. Thanks for the advice!!! i checked out that website for the weather by months...its great gonna keep an eye on it during the up coming months!
  3. Hello ladies! I'm confused! We are wanting to the have a private poolside reception. And i too was under the impression that is was an extra $55/person and then open bar fee on top of that. However we are getting the Caprice package deal with is the biggest one, for about 40guest...simply because i wanna get the extra services lol its not everyday or even year i get to go away...however i was informed by the MICE coordinators that private reception was $1000 extra on top of the wedding package fee. Which to me seemed much more reasonable than $55 per person....anyone have any insight, or information about this???
  4. this was very helpful thanks ladies, i too was very confused bout dinner and reception options at ROR...ideally id like the completel private one, but if i get married at 1pm do my guests have to sit around for 5hrs before we can have our reception...still a bit confused on that, but hopefully Chandlyn cant sort it out for me
  5. im kinda feeling the same way, mind you have a quite a bit of time before my wedding date, but people are not replying, and its stressing me out lol...paperwork...well i just keep thinking of it, not knowing where to start what i need, where to go and all that jazz, and same with clothing, whos going to wear what, is it going to match, how are the colours going to work, i dunno waht the flowers look like...haha then i stop...and remind myself...who cares! im gonna be in a jamaica!!! i should even worry about all that stuff lol...well the paperwork i do, or else it wont be a legal marriage .....trying to relax
  6. a quick question about the reception option...i know if u do the semi private reception that is included in the package its doesnt cost extra...BUT do u still have the opportuity to have a first dance and cake cutting and such with this option, or can they only provide that space with a private reception? would u know?
  7. hi there sweetluna...we are gettin married at the ROR within a few days of eachother, just wondering how ur planning is coming along...im at a stand still right now, waiting till closer tot he date to contact the wedding coordinator to ask some more concrete questions about price and reception options...do u know if u will be having the semi private reception or if you will be doing a private one? hope to hear from you, hope we can bounce some thoughts off eachother, im starting to feel a little lost lol.....which makes me nervous
  8. makes me happy to read a good review of ROR we are gettin married there in about 7months and the unknown is killing me, not knowing what to expect, hoping my guests will enjoy themselves at the very least!
  9. Hey there again!!! sorry for so many questions, but everything is running through my head even tho my date isnt for another year!!! lol How far in advance did u arrange the poolside reception, and order the cake? Thats my biggest problem and stressor. I want to have eveyrthing secured and planned well in advance lol but doesnt see it works that way. Makes it easier to budget that way

They also moved the sand ceremony as well: We also had a seperate cake table: And a table with our guestbook for our guests to sign. I made placecards with everyone's name and table assignment. They are tent style, but the wind kept blowing them over, so the WC tucked them under our guestbook: Hope these help to give you a better idea of how the setup looks! We did not use their DJ. We used an IPOD that we had made playlists of all the music we wanted to hear. We had a playlist for dinner, a seperate one for dancing, the garter toss, and bouquet toss. It worked out well. We rented the DJ equipment only which included a mic. I didn't want to bring a sound system with me. Our cousin was the MC. It worked out well. Let me know if you have any other questions! I wasn't considering the Pool Side reception as we have invited almost 70 ppl, but not sure how many will actually attend, so the price seemed a little steep for us. However after seeing ur pictures its got me a little more excited. You mentioned you didnt use a DJ but rented the equipment. Did you connect the IPOD to the speakers and then just have the mic for the MC?? how did that work. I really like the IPOD idea!!
  11. Greetings!!! So we are in the midst of planning our wedding at ROR and the pool reception looks very appealing, however i read that its about $50US extra per person for this option, on top of the wedding package? On top of DJ costs, seems a bit pricey. Would u say it was worth it? If u go to the resort on an ALL INCLUSIVE stay, obviously drinks during the reception are all included as well right? ( i read sometihng about an Open Bar charge of $10 per person) as well which boggled my mind, if you are already paying for all inclusive.
