  1. Hi GSP Brides, I am trying to find a wedding resort venue and came across this and fell in love. I have a ton of questions but I'll start with a few that I'm sure all of you have answers to. 1-I keep reading that there is a "Gala Menu" with charges per person for the meal + a room rental fee. I guess I'm confused on What exactly is included in the packages when it says "special dinner for couple and 18 guests at a la carte restaurant"? 2-Is the Le Fleur Restaurant (with the white sofas and pink and white linens) an option for a small reception? We dont plan to exceed the 20 people so we are fine with semi-private options and I love the look of this restaurant but I havent seen any brides say they are using it 3-How much are the hotel photographer's packages? I was looking into outside photographers but with the additional outside vendor fee I wanted to ensure it was worth it 4-Seeing that most of you have already done this or have contracts in place, is it feasible to have a wedding ceremony and semi-private reception here for 20 people around $5K? Thanks in advance

  3. I just returned from a "Francelia" wedding. She's an absolute sweetheart! She made sure I had EVERTHING I needed...I also secured the time when I got the date. Originally, wedding time was set for 6pm, but on the wedding day---it changed to 4pm. I wasn't mad though.............everything was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!
  4. OMY! Thanks for the review!!!! It's FULL of helpful information! I'm getting married at the Caribe Club Princess...but the ceremony will take place at the gazebo @ the Bavaro Princess, and yes--Francelia is my WC as well. I actually stayed at the Bavaro Princess in Nov 2009----we were suddenly switched to this resort after the Caribe closed suddenly for emergency maintenance. This was supposed to be a 4 (apple) resort, and I was EVERYTHING but impressed. I'll let you read my review on trip advisor for yourself....there was ALOT of construction going on, which may have been the reason for my discomfort (mice & roaches). I eventually had to completely relocate to the Ocean Blue for the remainder of my stay. I too orginally was going to purchase the princess package---but my guest list has outgrown that package! LOL
  5. I'm getting married on June 9th in Punta Cana as well....my WC gave me the list of items I needed. They included pretty much what that poster above me has quoted: Notarized Single Affidavit signed & translated, Passports translated, birth certificates translated and legalized, any divorce decrees or name change documents need to be translated as well. We also had to send passport copies for our witnesses to our WC. I live in DC, and there's a Dominican Consulate here....first they said they no longer do it, then they said they did, then they didn't again. I ended up using WeDo, who has to send the documents to the Dominican Consulate ANYWAY.... Hope this helps.
  6. I'm a June bride too! June 6th @ the Caribe Club Princess in Punta Cana. No dress yet, although I've picked it out. STD's were sent out in Oct. Invitations were sent out 2 weeks ago. Working on OOT Bags and favors. I too---have made it a challenge to drop a few (well more than a few, lol) pounds by June. I've cut back on calories, and have upped my exercise and activity---and water intake. I'm toooooo excited :-)

Is this the right link? Yes, that's the correct link....you have to call them. They speak very good English. I was quoted $8 per boutinaire/family flower...$70 for my bouquet...and approximately $60 for each centerpiece. My main flower of choice is the Cala Lilly. Call the number listed on the site for prices, they also replied to me emails.

  9. When I went to the DR in Nov 09....my entire family took a catamaran trip.....it was absolutely AWESOME. We went snorkeling, shopping, and to a private swimming pool. We used Viva Colonia....trip was the BOMB!! "Valentino Baby" made the trip exciting....and the price was under $50PP Viva Colonia Tropical - Home
  10. I just stayed at this resort, and the resort is pretty nice. I had the opportunity to witness 3 or 4 weddings during my stay there. Each looked to go on without problems. They have a nice little wedding center at the front of the resort...........and the photographer is ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS. I even asked for her information to see if she could shoot my wedding (that's at another resort). The gazebo at this resort is hidden---behind buildings. You can't see the beach from the gazebo, but if total privacy is what you like---that's your best option. I had NO complaints about this resort at all. Was just there Nov 16-23rd.
  11. I just contacted the Domincan Embassy here in Washington, DC....and they have informed me that as of September 1, 2009 they no longer do legalizations. So I'm---LOST as to where to turn to now. For those who have used WeDo, and have been successful----please let me know!
  12. I'm lucky enough to live in Washington, DC....I went to the Dominican Consulate today, and they informed me that they NO LONGER do legalizations (as of 9/1/09). So now, I'm stumped as to what to do.....any suggestions
