Can you help since you're all ladies and good at giving advice?? Here is another reason why I think you should go dark again. Think about 40 years from now, the "highlighted" look may be totally out and it may date your wedding photos. The Auburn color is classic and less trendy and I think you will be glad you have a solid, rich, beautiful color down the road. edit: Let me mention that I've been a hairstylist/colorist for 13 yrs now, so I've heard every desire and regret of every bride I've ever dealt with! If you do make a change do it well in advance of the wedding so you can change it back in time for the wedding without damaging your hair!

I was thinking of just going with roses just because it would be hard to mess up, not sure if that would be an extra charge. Also need 5 BM bouquets too. That really stinks they can't have reservations for more then 30 people. We are over 40 now. I really don't know what I am going to do...really stressing about it. My FI does not feel we should spend additional money on a welcome party if that is the case, but I feel all these people came this far...they deserve the best treatment. Thanks a bunch! I'm assuming this PDF is examples of bouquets, booteniers (sp?) and centerpeices in each style. you will see when I send it to you. Can you send me what you got to [email protected] I don't even know if my entire party of 30 will be able to sit together at the dinner, so that's even more frustrating. With as many weddings as Barcelo does, you would think they would have an a la carte specifically for rehearsal dinners! I wouldn't spend the extra money on a welcome party either, to be honest. Obviously, if your budget allows it then do it, but for me a welcome party would be stretching it! I think you shouldn't feel obligated. They will receive superior treatment just by being at Barcelo. Think about it, you wouldn't be angry if you were a guest. I'm bringing my own photog and videographer, so that variable has been taken out, now I'm worried about the flowers looking cheap.
  3. Ladies: So, does anyone know anything about or have used the DJ you can get through the resort If you don't use that DJ, and you use a different one, they charge you a $50 per hour fee for electricity! Seems steep, but if the resident DJ stinks, I'm gonna spring for DJMannia. Also, anyone used the floral arrangments the hotel provides? Claudia sent me a PDF of images of some examples, but I'm not crazy about the style of the centerpeices. Anyone know if they are flexible if I sent her a pic of what I want, can she make it? Also, if anyone was wondering, Claudia told me that for the rehearsal dinner she can't accept reservations of more than 30 people. She will get a guest list three weeks before the wedding and will make the reservation for us. Also, I got with my travel agent today and they are working their magic on a deal and also on bulk air. I will let you know what they come back with. MObride.....if we end up with bulk air and most of your guest list is leaving from STL, that could work out for you, so let me know if you wanna jump on the plane.

The Beach/Caribe rooms at that time were noticeably older, and the restaurants at the Beach /Caribe were not air conditioned at that time, which was their major complaint. However, we thought the best stretch of beach was in front of the Beach/Caribe and we spent all of our beach time at this end of the resort. If i recall, the Beach and Caribe are currently closed and undergoing major renovations so by the time our weddings roll around, they should be nice and new!!!!! This is awesome news! Thanks so much!

Remember, the sun will make your hair color fade so your highlights will pop back out unless you wear a hat on the beach!
  6. So, has anyone stayed in the Beach/Caribe and/or the Tropical/Colonial at Barcelo Maya Are the low grade rooms in the beach/caribe any good? I don't want to put any of my budget guests up in these if they are poor quality. Thanks!

  8. Thanks for your help! I've heard NOT to ship it as customs may steal it and the hotel will not accept responsibility for it. I'm just going to try and stuff everything into two suitcases and just pay the $25 bag fee.

This new photography rule has had me crazy! I've booked a photographer from St. Louis to stay for four days and as far as I know this is OK, I haven't been told otherwise... Also curious if anyone has received the 2010 packages It's hard to stick to a budget when you don't know exactly how much the wedding package is going to cost Holy Moly! I am from St. Louis and am also getting married there on May 29th! How crazy! We need to for sure hang say hello to each other! I have the 2010 wedding packages if anyone needs them.
  10. I have a wedding planned at the Barcelo Palace in May of 2009. Anyone have any tips I've been researching it forever! Also, I feel a little nervous about the planning. I feel like I just have to cross my fingers and hope for the best. It's hard to get a hold of my planner. Help!
  11. I want to have a beach tote with goodies like monogramed sunscreen, monogramed towels, etc to put as a welcome gift for each of my guests and I'm wondering how to get it all down there. I've heard horror stories on forums such as this one of women shipping their favors down there and them getting confiscated by customs. But, also, if I load it all up in suitcases and take it I'll have to pay the baggage fee through the airlines. I won't be bringing anything liquid. Any experience with this or suggestions?
