  1. I can't say enough good things about Illeana Reyes with Romantic Cabo Weddings. She has been the absolutely best and I wouldn't have been able to plan a destination wedding in Los Cabos without her. She is super responsive, helpful with ideas, and works well with a budget. And she is so nice -- it has been a true pleasure to have her be the one that I'm relying on to help us make the best choices and have the event go off without a hitch. Her website is Welcome to Romantic Cabo Weddings .::. Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, Mexico
  2. What constitutes "affordable". I've been getting quotes for $15,000 which strikes me as a total rip off . . . I wouldn't even pay that much back home. How much is standard for flowers for a wedding of about 75-100 people?
  3. Who did you have perform the service? Any recommendations on that front? Thanks!
  4. Perfect! I think sitting on the patio with umbrellas might even better than the beach, because it gets pretty hot in the morning in Cabo. Were the drinks included in the $25 price? Thanks!
  5. Thanks, Ashley! That is a really good tip. I think we'll end up doing that, as well. Is Tomatoes on the beach? I can't remember checking it out on our site visit.
  6. Have any of you had brunch the day after the wedding at the Sheraton? If so, where did you have it there and what did you serve? Thanks!
  7. We tried so many different flavors - she can really do anything - but the apple cake with french vanilla creme and orange cake with tequila creme won out. Chocolate was just too heavy. The apple blew us away. I was not expecting it, but my fiance loves apple things and Jennifer suggested we try it with the french vanilla creme. I love it because it's something different, a little unexpected, and delicious! Also, the orange cake with the tequila filling was amazing and I like it because it adds a little local flare to the cake options. We tried lots of chocolate cakes because I'm a chocoholic, but they were all kinda heavy and I figured people would be so stuffed by then that they would want something lighter and a little different than what they can get at home. Happy cake tasting!
  8. I'm using Jennifer Hatton, too. She is SO nice and her cake tasted amazing when we tried out different flavors a while back. I think she's really honest about what works and what doesn't, too, flavor and otherwise, and I really appreciated that guidance from her.
  9. Thanks, Lauren! That sound similar to what we're planning -- 3 hours seems to be plenty and it's nice that they accommodated you and let you play a CD using their equipment. They mentioned there might be an extra charge for using their mics and speakers for ceremony speeches. Did you encounter the same request for payment for use of mics and speakers?
  10. Awesome, thanks. They quoted me a MUCH higher rate! They asked for around $5,500 for 4 hours. Did you find that they quoted you higher at first, too?
  11. I've heard of Kilometro, but there isn't much information out there. Can you give me their contact information and let me know their rates? THANKS!
  12. FYI - Vanessa is no longer there, so you'll be dealing with Sergio (who is, as evidenced by the posts here, not a great coordinator). The place isn't as nice as the website makes it out to be because of all the construction. I had my heart set on this place until I went to visit and after trying the food and my site visit decided it was a clear "no go"! There are so many nicer places to get married in Cabo and you won't have to deal with Sergio or Cabo Azul's uncompromising attitude to get married if you go some place else.
  13. Thanks, Heather! Keep us posted
  14. I heard Suzanne herself doesn't actually do the hair and make-up. Doesn't sound like that's a problem, but does anyone have experience with that?
  15. Does Neysa offer group discounts? I'm a little worried about booking Neysa now that you mention her assistants might not be that reliable, since I'm having my bridesmaids get their hair done, too. Has anyone else had the experience of using either Suzanne or Neysa's assistants? I'm trying to decide between the two, as well!
  16. Thanks! I heard Cabomax might be another option - - did you hear about or consider them?
  17. I'd like to have a live band play at my reception, but haven't heard of any great bands in Cabo that can really get our guests up and dancing. Does anyone know of a good band?

    Cabo 2010

I'm getting married in Cabo next year - hope I don't regret it! It's so hard to make all these decisions without actually being there and I constantly feel like I'm getting taken advantage of by vendors Any tips on how to avoid unpleasant surprises would be helpful! Thanks!
  19. I'm deciding between Suzanne and Neysa, too. Neysa is a little more expensive, I think. Does anyone have an opinion about whether or not she is better for the extra cost?
