Holy Crap we will be there in 2 days from right now! I am so excited it's not even funny! Anyways, here is what our wedding plans are so I will be sure to post a review as well when we get back: There are 30 of us going in total. We have booked the Dreams Ultimate Wedding Package and also booked HDC Photography for our wedding day and Trash the Dress shoot. We are having our ceremony (legal) and cocktail hour in the wedding gazebo and our reception on the Seaside Grill Deck and ordering from the Gold Menu. We are getting a DJ for the reception. We are not bringing our own decorations, but we are bringing favours and the bridesmaids bouquets. All I want is for everyone to have a great time! If there is anything else any of you want to know let me know and I will try to find out for you while we are there! We'll be back on the 25th.

Wow. I just got my form from Tiara today. It says it should be completed and returned at least 15 days before the wedding. My wedding is in 9 days. Hmmmm.

Wow! We are getting married in 12 days and I did not get a form either! Grrr... There better not be any surprises when we get there! I've heard the resort is all booked for our week as well. A couple people were just trying to upgrade their rooms but were not able to. I'm glad we upgraded ours months ago

I have an email from Tiara where I specifically asked her if there would be an extra cost to have a bartender for after our reception (for the dancing part) and she said no and that there would be servers to serve us drinks. I will be very upset when we get there if there is suddenly a charge for this! I will be printing and bringing all of my emails for sure!

WOW Bridget! Your pictures are amazing! You were a beautiful bride. I am so happy to hear that you had a great time (for the most part!) and I can't wait to hear the rest. I LOVED the lanterns in the gazebo! What a great idea! Congratulations

So we got our documents back today from the Dominican Embassy! We sent them on Monday, March 8th by regular mail from Thunder Bay to Ottawa so it only cost about $2.00 to send there and back and got them back in 2 weeks! That was quick

I don't know who you are flying through, but we are flying Air Canada and it tells you on their site for baggage allowance what you can do with the wedding dress. It says it can be your carry on but has to be folded over and put in the overhead storage.

Liane, do you know if these have to be mailed or if they can be scanned and emailed to her?

We sent our documents about at the beginning of last week to the Dominican Consulate/Embassy or whatever you call them in Ontario. It cost $360 USD but we were never married before. I have four weeks and a day till we leave so I hope it comes back in time..

I have actually already asked Tiara about this.. about a week ago.. and have not gotten a response! Maybe it's busy with weddings down there since it's March Break...

"Good Friend" bails out of wedding to get a dog?
jenne replied to yumyum90's topic in Just venting or funnies
I know how you feel - but I agree with the others, don't lose your friend over this. We had a couple of very good friends (one in the wedding party) back out as well because they couldn't afford to come. My FI seemed more hurt by this than I was and it would bother him when they would spend money on doing other things, like going out to the bar or snowboarding since they said that they had no money. But I just feel like, although they are our good friends, we can't expect them to put their life on hold or not be able to do anything that they want to do just because they have to save all of their money for our wedding. -

Does anyone know where the extra 26% came from (sorry, if it's already been discussed in previous pages ... this thread is getting reaaaaalllllyyyyy long) She definitely quoted the price to me with the tax. Here is her email: From: [email protected] Date: Tue, 22 Sep 2009 11:40:29 -0400 Subject: RE: Wedding Questions Dear Jennifer: I hope this email finds you well. I would like to confirm you the wedding gazebo for your wedding ceremony. The exclusivity of any of the restaurants will be USD 1,000 + 26%, and will be close only of your guests. You can book the DJ services for your wedding reception, that will cost you USD 250.00 (up to 4 hours) Best regards, Tiara De la Rosa Coordinadora de Bodas Wedding Coordinator Dreams La Romana Tel: (809) 221-8880 Ext 1983 Fax: (809) 221 – 8881

Hi Nancy! Welcome to the forum. I'm sure you've already found the great Dreams La Romana thread, but if not it is a tremendous help! I am also getting married there next month and this forum has been a life saver! Congratulations and happy planning.

Hey Nadia, I was just wondering if this was something that Tiara told you specifically?
