  1. I have a question. I have some groomsmen who will be there by themselves but would not want the OOT bags. Can you give me a suggestion for something else they may find better. I am gong to put the coffee mugs, squirt guns, and maybe some golf balls or something in the room. Thoughts?
  2. Hey ladies, I am in Denver and would love to try and meet at the next event. BBtoB I saw your wedding from a distance. I was at the Del Mar and saw the setup and you guys standing up there. Congratulations it was beautiful. Mandee
  3. Just a thought that Wal-Greens had a pretty good sale on them in Denver. Are any of you doing the water bottles in your OOT bags. Where are you looking. I saw a wedding when I was there in July and that was the big thing that everyone discussed.
  4. Hi girls, I am getting married on April 24th, 2010 at the Iberostar in Playa Del Carmen. I have sent out my save the dates and did passports. I am doing boarding passes for my invitations. We have invited 80 people to the wedding. I have my dress, shoes, OOT bags, Greg's clothes, itinerary books, bridesmaids, and groomsmen all done. I am handmaking photo albums for my bridesmaids. I have known all of them since before grade school so this should be fun. I look forward to learning from you ladies. Mandee
  5. So, while this is totally off base. Do any of you that have had your wedding there recommend a flavor of wedding cake?

  7. Hi everyone, I justed wanted to say that all of the properties seem very nice. We are considering going to the grand for our honeymoon after we get married at the Del Mar. The wedding cake flavor options are vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry cheesecake. I am going to email Reyna and see if you can different flavors on the different layers. Anyone know the answer to this?
  8. Sorry if this showed up twice but I posted it and seems to have disappeared. I am also putting one bag per room except for my bridesmaids. I haven't gotten so lucky with my bags. I have spent less then $10.00 a bag and am doing well. I got bags that you can put picture in the front of. When Greg and I were in Mexico a two weeks we took pictures and are putting them in the front of the bag. I am filling it with: Flip flops ($1.00 Michaels) Beach Towels ($2.50 Target) Spanish English dictionariest (1.00 Target) mugs Itinerary books Beach Money holders Maracas Water guns Bubbles Also, I have a link for chapstick that will put your wedding label on it if you would like. I really want to see your save the dates but have not earned enought points. Do you know how many points I need to be able to do this?
  9. I am doing bags per room except all of my bridesmaids are getting one. I have a website for lip balm that you can put your wedding label on if you want it. I have put flip flops that I bought for a dollar at Michaels, beach towels ($2.50 Target), spanish english book (1.00 Target), money holders for the beach, water guns, bubbles, water bottles, maps of the resort, and itinerary books. I check the dollar bins at target and they have great stuff in them. I am way under budget thanks to Target.

I (hopefully) will be sending that out in another 3 weeks (haven’t started them yet!!)– so it will be there just 8 weeks before the wedding. We also ordered custom luggage tags that I am sending out pre-filled with the guests names and addresses. People have been booking in spurts since January but we still have 5-10 people that have told us they are coming in the past month or two but haven’t booked so that is getting a little stressful. We have spent a ridiculous amount of time on the oot bags and just finalizing the order for drink cups and need to pick up some small things at the dollar store but those are about done – just need to work on the welcome letter to put in them. Finally – we need to figure out the ceremony and readings and make a final decision about whether to do a sunset cruise prior to rehearsal dinner at the resort, or host a dinner cruise for everyone in lieu of being at the resort. I have been super laid back about the planning of this entire event but now that we are getting so close I am feeling like I might have been TOO laid back and will have a stressful next few weeks  Where did you buy your drink cups?

  12. I will totally agree. I bought mine in Apirl but have my first fitting in a few weeks. I can not wait. I have the email with my pictures on my phone and look at it daily. Once I figure it out I will have to post it. My WC also told me that the tropical restaurant will be Italian sometime next year!
  13. Ladies, This is so great that we can all talk like this. I can just hear people getting bored with me. I got my dress in April and it is coming in just a few weeks. I can not wait to put it on again. I also just sent out my Save-the-Dates. I did passports and spent a lot of time on them. I have gotten rave reviews. I did do the custom stamps but I do not know if I will do them for my invitations. I have a friend coming that is a photographer and that is saving me a ton of money. Is anyone putting beach bags in the rooms? Mandee
  14. Ok, Well as for the restaurants we did get to eat at one every night. You only get a certain number for the number of nights you stay but you can get around it. Greg and I stayed 3 nights so were only allowed one but used them all three nights. You have to make the one you are alotted the day before or by noon the day of the reservation. However, at 4:00 you can call down to the customer service desk or go down to the desk and ask if they have any openings for that night. They usually do and then they will give it to you. We ate at the Brazilian, Mexican, and the Japanese and they were all good. However, the Japanese was by far the best. As for photography I am using a friend and they did not have a problem with that. When you go talk to Reyna about it and she will clue you in. I had a list of question before I went and then she drove us in the golf cart to look at our options. Many of the questions I had were answered here on the forum however, I did not find the forum until I returned. You will pay for the entire wedding when you arrive at the resort. Also you want to stay in building 12, 11 on the Del Mar side. I will have to look at the Beach side to tell you those. Also, if you send her a list of names of the people that have booked a trip she will try to get you all in one building. I have to go now but will keep in touch. Talk to you soon Mandee
  15. Hello Everyone, I am new and have a few questions: 1. How do someone of you have those cute personalized wedding templates on your posts? 2. Did any of you do boarding pass invitations? 3. Did any of you do the itinerary books for the wedding guests while at the resort? These are ideas I have but would like some help or advice from those of you who are experienced. I am looking at your pictures and they are gorgeous ladies. Thank you for your help. Mandee
  16. Hi Ladies, I am getting married at the Del Mar on April 24th, 2010. Greg and I just returned home from the resort on Sunday the 5th of July. It was fabulous. The resort is huge. One must understand that the Del Mar and Beach share properties so the guests can stay at either. The Lindo and Maya share I believe. Guests from the Del Mar and Beach can not go over to the Lindo and use the ammenties. However, the Lindo guests can come over to the Del Mar and Lindo. I would suggest to your guests that they bring comfortable walking shoes. The Japanese food at the Del Mar was the best food that we had. I have my dress and am getting my Save the Dates back from being printed tomorrow. I am doing passports and they were so much work. If you have questions ask me and I will tell you what I can. I met with Reyna but after reading posts from other brides would suggest using the other coordinator if possible. Glad to be hear with all of you! Mandee

I actually met a Sunandrun while in Mexico last week and she turned me onto this site. Her wedding and dress were unbelievably beautiful. I look forward to hearing from you all! Mandee
