The options are (at least at the RIU Montego BAY) The NOT PRIVATE STEAKHOUSE (may or may not be depending on other weddings). I believe wedding dinners are held on the second floor. A PRIVATE STEAKHOUSE dinner (i think you have to pay an extra $1000 to make it private). A private beach dinner. (I think there is a minimum amount of ppl:40) and it is 55 dollars a person (that price includes alcoholic beverages, there may also be an option of 45 dollars a person without an open bar type thing. May be different since its ROR...not sure, i'm sure there is plenty of information though...a lot of BDW girls had their wedding At ROR Good luck!

What is Body Magic? I've never heard of it.... My mom decided to order a tropical outfit (i dont know if its a dress or a skirt/shirt type of set). My dad is going to wear a similar blue to the groomsmen, but a little lighter with a nice tie , and khakis. I believe FMIL ordered a dress to wear, dont know what it looks like though and FFIL, not sure what he is wearing. I kind of left it up to them.

RMB ladies...question about vendor fee

just an update on Sherika......so far she has been great to work with in my opinion. She responds promptly to my emails, she seems very pleasant, and also accomodating. The only thing I don't like is the new RIU vendor policy that charges $200 to use outside vendors (off the RIU's list), but that is not anything that has to do with Sherika. I'm very satisfied with Sherika's help so far! -

I agree with Blumenthale.....the RIU is a nice resort. I'm in the same situation Emily is, when i started looking at the RIU there were no vendor fees....just day pass fees. So the extra 100 dollars for each vendor was not in the planned budget, but Sherika does answer any questions that you have pretty promptly and she seems great to work with. For all the wedding she does at the RIU, i'm sure she has a lot to do, but still seems pleasant in her emails. My photographer, actually recommended that I go to the RIU because they have very nice weddings.

I don't have any for sale.....I might sale mine after May, but I bought mine from Shavon's wedding silks. real touch wedding flowers natural touch flowers real touch bouquet I ordered a bride bouquet, 3 BM bouquets, 1 maid of honor bouquet, 3 corsages, 5 regular bouts, 1 best man bout, and 1 groom bout and in my opinion my quote was pretty reasonable. Also, have you considered looking at their sites and maybe if the bride bouquet is too expensive ....get the maid of honor bouquet for yourself (that way it is a little different) and get the bridesmaid bouquets for all of the bridesmaids. Then if you want to make a maid of honor bouquet stand out.....get a starfish to put in it or a butterfly clip or something for the MOH bouquet... just a thought..... Good luck!

Traveling With Dress
clfaidl2 replied to jenninjamaica's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Have any of you ladies flown on USAirways? I contacted them because my dress is a little more poofy and they said they have very strict rules on garment bags. They cannot be any longer than 45 inches, so i was wondering what type of garment bag I can possilby get to fit those requirements? I'm hoping that the airline is understanding. -

just ordered the hanger! Thanks so much!!! Still looking for a tropical hair flower... -
I think Sherika is letting Emily use her original baker (the cheaper one) with a day pass fee instead of a vendor fee. I have not gotten a response back yet. I'll try to remember to post what she says...

Spanx vs Victoria Secret body shapers- POLL
clfaidl2 replied to Jacqueline's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
I'm curious on other opinions too... Has anyone tried the victoria secret embracer waist cincher thong? I wondered how good it is? I think i'm going to wear a garter, so i am worried about getting a thigh shaper -
Hi Ladies, I've been searching for a fancy dress hanger strong enough to support my dress. Also looking for a tropical(ish) hair flower. Thanks!
-
i'm going to contact sherika too, maybe it will help if more than one of us say how unfairly priced keisha is
-
The vendor fee (if you don't use who is on the RIU's list) is $200. Their recommended photography contact is photoshop (Michael). Baker is Keisha (# listed above), although you can still get a free cake with the wedding package. I was only considering an upgraded cake because i thought it wouldn't be that much more and I dont want to take a cake topper with me, but guess i will now that the cake is that expensive for an upgrade. Flower vendor with the RIU is Tai Flora Oh you also have to pay this 200 dollar vendor fee for hair and makeup artists, because they want you to use their renova spa. Hope this helps!

You're welcome, i hope i can pull it off too!

the quote i got was over 700 dollars for a cake to feed 20 to 35 ppl!!!!! I thought that was ridiculous. I didn't tell her about the included cake, but still that price is outrageous! And the top layer is not real of a 3 tier cake (what she recommended for that many ppl) i saw seashells in white chocolate that are affordable! If you want to take them along for the cake decor! Buy Chocolate Seashell for Wedding Favors, Chocolate Sea Shells for Favors, Chocolate Sea shells for cake decorating, seashell collections for cake decorating, Olde Naples FL. Another option is gum paste flowers...or just buy a cake topper.. I don't think i can afford a cake for more than 700 dollars!

Thanks for responding ladies! Hmm.....the only thing I am worried about with a suitcase is I dont think the dress will fit in a carry on suit case (It's rather bulky at the bottom). I would have to put it in another checked bag and I am worried about checking a bag because I read an article where a girl's dress was stolen out of her checked bag and plus they really throw the checked luggage around. I think I would be a nervous wreck. I really want to carry the dress on, but I called US airways and they said they are very strict with the size of the garment bag. They said they would not allow it as a carry on if it was larger than 45 inches. So, I just don't know what to buy to fit this requirement. I found a garment bag that I thought might work, but when I tried to confirm that with the airline I now have doubts. The garment bag I tried to confirm was an american tourister bag that folds in half and its measurments are 23.62 in x 22.9 in x 4.4 in. She told me the size of these measurements was 50.9 inches. I thought the 45 inches meant length ......and the length of this garment bag was 45.8 if it is not folded in half. So, now I am very confused. I was hoping that since 45.8 was right around 45 that would be okay, but if they are adding all the measurements together it would obviously be more than 45. Does anyone know if that 45 inches is regarding the length of the bag? or is it all of the measurements together equalling 45? I'm afraid to go with a regular garment bag if it is larger than 45 inches Please help on what garment bag to use! I'm so lost! I wish the airline was more understanding that it is a WEDDING DRESS! Has anyone tried those boxes: Dress In A Box, Wedding Dress Overseas, Weddings Abroad Wedding Dress They have a larger box, but its in cm's. I'd have to figure it out in inches, anyone think a big dress would fit in there, or would you go with a garment bag? I read those other traveling with a dress threads and I can't find anything dealing with a larger dress. It seems like most girls carried it on in regular or doulbed garment bags but noone mentioned anything about a size restriction issue. Unfortunately, I think I have a really strict airline.

Hi ladies, I will be traveling on US airways and their restrictions for wedding dresses is that the garment bag cannot be larger than 45 inches. My dress is more bulky (it has a few layers on the bottom). I'm wondering what type of garment bag I should get. I want something thick and durable. I'm not tooo worried about wrinkles since i bought a travel steamer, but I definitely want to carry the dress on the plane with me. I just read an article where a girl checked her dress in with her luggage and it was stolen out of her suitcase when she went to pick it up. There is no way I am taking that chance. I was hoping you ladies could help me come up with ideas of garment bag/ travel options for a larger dress. I searched for some threads about this, but didn't find too much. Most of the comments I saw were: ladies used 2 garment bags, or put it in a wheeled garment bag. I'm not sure that my dress will fit in a wheeled garment bag or anything small as it is kind of bulky. Here is the link of my dress. It's not a lightweight dress, so I'm worried about getting it there. You can click on the links of other brides wearing the dress to get an idea of how big the dress really is. Jean - by Maggie Sottero Thanks for your help in advance ladies!
