  1. I know how you are feeling about this, but after reading the encouragement from the other brides out here, it really puts it in a different perspective. Good luck to you OROBride1008. I know everything will work out just fine. Hey if you do have to sneak out and get married...can we be in on your little secret?
  2. Ebbie475 Ocho Rios, Jamaica Riu Ocho Rios Date: July 14 or 15, 2010 (Waiting for confirmation)
  3. Absolutely Beautiful!!! I will definitely be looking at these for a while. Hmmmm...maybe who know! How very different! Thanks for the link
  4. I'm looking to getting small, not one shot, bottles of jamaican rum for my guests. I know that this will be costly, but I figure these folks are spending alot to be with us on this special day. I want my favors not to wind up in the kitchen draw with all the other junk I have in there. (Mine usually wind up in there.) I know folks will drink it up. I read a funny article about favors, can't remember where I found it. It put this question in perspective. I'll look for it and post it. (I found the link here somewhere actually.)
  5. Nice job Lady, Beautiful and the love story made me teary eyed. Thanks for sharing
  6. Girl, those are great! I, too will be doing these...just waiting to secure the date before starting. I lovvvveeeeee your poem. If you don't mind, me thinks I will use it too. How much sand did you use per bottle. I found sandartsupplies 2 weeks ago and I am itching to order my bottles. By the way, the ones mailed, did they make it in one piece? Kinda worried. I was going to bubble wrap mine, but yours look better with the paper. What size paper did you use? And did you get the plastic or glass? Great job! Evelyn
  7. Hey Ladies, I've been lurking here for some time and have seen so many things; forgetting to bookmark those that I was really interested in. Now I need help. I saw someones pic on Appleton Rum used as favors and I'd like to ask that bride how much she paid. Can someone help me, please. Not to worry, I now bookmark everything! Thanks
  8. Thanks itfinally here, That's a positive note. I'll check. So, you're going to Cuba. Ahhh...one destination I want to go to before the US gets in there and makes it too American (i.e Puerto Rico). My family is from PR and though it is a beautiful island, too much like the US. Perkins, Burger King, Mickey D's, etc. I think that is why I like Jamaica so much, still very natural to it's history. Ya know?! Good luck to you!
  9. Hey Ladies, My fiance is a musician and is in a band. Not sure yet, but it is very possible that they may all go. Do you think the hotel would rent sound equipment and maybe drums to have the band play there? We are thinking to reserve the reggae band through the hotel. Wonder if they would "lend" us for a fee the drums and sound system. My plans are at the Riu Ocho Rios Jamaica 7/2010. Any suggestions? Muchas gracias all!
  10. You know itsfinallyhere, I really thought it was just me. I think you get very comfortable in your situation and you just can't find time or money or both to do anything. We have a 14 year old son, a beautiful house and I have a great best friend!
  11. Hello all my fellow Brides to be... My name is Evelyn and I'm planning a destination wedding in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. I've been to Jamaica 3 times and have always dreamed of getting married there. The people and the island are great. I may be somewhat different than most of you, I would imagine. I've been with my FI for 25 years. (You know, you just can jump into anything!) We have finally gotten it together enough to plan my dream wedding. Besides getting married in such an awesome place, I want all my close family and friends to enjoy it as much as I have. So, my journey begins. I have already starting planning my Save the Date "invitations". Oh, by the way my date is July 15, 2010. So, I'll be keeping you posted and will be asking you guys for some assistance!
