  1. Crystal, Thanks for asking this question, I was wondering about this too. Your wedding is the day before mine! Have you decided where on the island you're getting married yet? FutureEilen, first of all congrats! And good to know the makeup lasted all night. That's something I was worried about with the heat and all
  2. I saw $1 frames at the dollar spot in Target - they were kinda small though... maybe the size of a business card... I really like the idea of taking pictures of yourself with numbers... or maybe even writing the numbers in the sand and taking pictures of them? Easier said than done though, I know.
  3. I don't think it's a dumb question. Different people have different reasons. As a few others have said, the choice of a DW didn't come about because of money constraints or not wanting to plan something big. After attending a close friends traditional wedding together, we just decided the whole church thing with a lot of people wasn't for us. We love to travel, we got engaged on a beach, and we want a quiet and romantic ceremony. The big AHR is in place to celebrate with everybody who couldn't make it to the DW... and for me, a reason to wear my wedding dress again! Also, getting married somewhere away from home gives our closest family and friends the opporunity to take a much needed vacation. And to all take that vacation together... well it's a once in a lifetime opportunity.
  4. Prettyhazardous, I am ALSO marrying my Marine in St. Thomas! Not on the Marine Corps Bday though. lol. Has your fiancè considered his dress blues at all for the ceremony? They'd be bloody hot, but I have indeed seen pictures of Marines in their uniforms for a STT wedding! I'm quite partial to the blues, but he's not into it. Oh well!
  5. I saw a really cute Calvin Klein one at Macys a couple weeks ago. It was knee length, really light blue with white polka dots. I wish I bought it when I saw it, I can't find it anywhere now. I just really didn't want to spend $120 on a sundress that I'd be wearing a year and 3 months from now!
  6. I'm just north of Albany. Honestly, not too far upstate, but sometimes you say "NY" and people just figure the city! lol I'm very excited about the Bellagio! I love that there is so much space, and there are so many bedrooms. I think it's going to be fun to have our family and friends all in one location like that. It'll be a big party the whole week! Just a quick side question... anybody know anything about Norbu?
  7. 1. Name: Brooke 2. Where are you from: Upstate NY 3. Where are you getting married in St Thomas: Haven't decided yet! We originally wanted the beach, but now we might do a private villa instead 4. When are you getting married: 6/6/10 - 6 years to the date from when we started dating 5. who is you WC: N/A - We haven't decided if we want to use one yet or not. We decided on St. Thomas because we wanted to go somewhere tropical and beautiful, but still wanted the ease of a US Territory. It works out well! As of now, we have booked Bellagio Estate, and we're having 18 of our family and friends stay there with us for a week!
  8. Hi All! I'm Brooke! I'm marrying my high school sweetheart in St. Thomas on June 6, 2010! We've been engaged for 5 months now, and I'm really excited (and nervous) to execute all of the planning for our DW! At this point, our set-in-stone details are few and far between. But I feel good so far! This board is such a great reference! I have a feeling I'll be spending a lot of time on here for the next 15 months!
