  1. Last one for sure. It sounds like your first ahh instinct was right. Don't second guess, even though I am doing the exact same thing! I think I am going to choose the dress that I had that feeling about but started second guessing (so tried on tons of others after and just confused myself only to go back to the one I loved) too especially after seeing this thread.
  2. You all don't think #3 is too formal for just us two? That is the only thing I am concerned about with this dress. This is helping so much!
  3. Wow! Thanks everyone. Ya'll are awesome for doing this. And it is funny, this is the one my mom loves best and I think I got that "the one" feeling but it was like the 2nd or 3rd dress I tried on out of about a million. I guess my mom and my gut was right, maybe. But keep the opinions coming. Thanks again.
  4. Hi everyone, I saw the many responses other had with help choosing so hopefully you all won't mind helping me too. I am living in a new town with no family to help choose so...We are getting married in Jamaica with just me and groom, so I wanted to be casual but still wear a beautiful dress for pictures and so fiance will be "wowed". Ignore the no make up and non fixed hair please and I couldn't figure out how to rotate photos. If I will I will put a new url. Thanks everyone!http: Pictures by futurerana - Photobucket
  5. #36 is the sexiest if you are going to choose more formal. Love it, I think it is more flattering than #40 on your body. And I love #14 just because I love the less formal and it is also very flattering. But if you are like me you are probably going to still choose the one you like best and we are just going to confuse you. I am having the hardest time myself!!
  6. Yes. it is hard to believe. Well I guess since there is only 14 (I think) rooms/villas that it is a very small percentage compared to the others. But have you been to Reviews of vacations, hotels, resorts, vacation and travel packages - TripAdvisor, it has the most awesome reviews. The hotel section and the negril forum if you type in the caves. There is a lot of info. That is what convinced me. From what I read you can't go wrong. I just really wanted to hear from someone who has had a ceremony there. I read some reviews of people who have "gotten married" there but that was the only details that they gave...and that it was awesome. When are you going? We are booked in June 15-20th. I am sure you said in one of your posts but I am still not too good at navigating this site and am getting confused. That is cool that your 8yr is able to go to the ceremony. I have an 11yr old son and am feeling pretty guilty that he won't be a part of it. Part of me is thinking maybe I should just do justice of the peace here so he can be there. (A big wedding is out of the question). I don't know. But my dream is a beautiful setting like Jamaica in a dress flowing in the breeze though hmmmm, decisions decisions. He says he doesn't mind not being there but...who knows...
  7. Hi, I would like to exchange information with people who have had weddings with just the bride and groom. All of the other threads are very helpful but seem like different preparations etc... I would like to hear from others what they are planning and what preparations I should be making if any. What you're wedding was like? For example, do you still walk up with the guy waiting with the minister or do you just walk up together What you do after since there is no reception? How much of the day does it take up? I just want to know EVERYTHING. I am getting married at the caves in negril with just us June 17th and am trying to find info about the caves wedding specifically but am not getting replies. I guess not that many caves brides..So anyone who is having or has had a just the two of you destination wedding would be awesome, ANY info. I know I can ask the wedding coordinator but would like info from other brides...And I am sure once I get there I will be asking myself why in the world I was so anxious. It is just so fun to talk about and I am so exited.
  8. Ok. this is my last thread of the day. I would like info of what the weather is like in June in Negril as far as hair and a dress? I am planning on wearing my hair long and flowing (hopefully) with a flower in it or something. And wearing a destination wedding dress, probably strapless, chiffon... I read that it is really hot and humid there in June and wonder if "flowing" is even an option or will it just be sticking to my head. And if the dress will be unbearable, though I know that it will be hot and some uncomfortable for sure. I am from Louisiana so am sort of used to it, though not used to wearing my hair down and a long dress in that heat. Also the best time of day for a ceremony if I get the choice: Sunset, morning, night, afternoon? We will be getting married on the cliffs at The Caves Resort. Anyone with info or just an opinion will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  10. I guess not that many caves brides on the forum...I am planning on getting married there on June 17th, 2009, and would. like to exchange info with others who have either gotten married there or will be. No other plans except that it will be that day. No idea what it will be like really. Have you decided for sure yet and what dates? I just wonder what if anything else I should be doing other than booking it. It will just be us two...Let me know...
  11. Wow, I guess not much feedback on the caves huh? I am planning on getting married there June 17th. I am hoping to get in touch with other caves brides too. I have a ton of questions. You probably have found out by now that there are no kids allowed. I think because it is dangerous because of all of the cliffs. I don't know if they make exceptions though. What have you decided? And have you gotten in touch with any other caves brides?
  12. Thanks for the replies, I think I will do the "destination wedding dress" thing. Just a little worried because it will be in June. EEEk.
  13. Hi, I am new and am hoping to get married just the two of us at either Tensing Pen or the Caves or wherever in Negril, Jamaica. Still haven't made a complete decision or booked and am still trying to convince fiance that we really deserve something this special...After all we are saving money not having a big wedding. My main reason for joining this forum is because it will be just the two of us and I am not sure how that will work. All the pictures info I have seen about destination weddings seem to be ones with lots of guests. I was concerned that it would be awkward and wondering how dressy I should and could get without it being ridiculous. I like the "destination dresses" but they still seem like they may be a little too formal still. Though I would love it. And what about a veil. And feedback on this or pictures even would be awesome. My fiance also is wondering and I would like to relay info and still be honest..It would be easier to convince him if this is common...I am getting great freedback on trip advisor too but figured since this is a "wedding forum" i might get even more feedback. I appreciate all the help. I don't know anyone who has done this and have always dreamed about it. Thanks so much.
